An ideal location in Torquay right at the centre of the town, The hotel is very clean and the staff are polite

Lovely hotel.Close to bars, shops etc. Evening meal and breakfast both to a high standard.

We had an overnight stay for a concert at the Princess Pavillion. Ideal location for this as the theatre was within walking distance. Reception staff very welcoming and everything was lovely and clean. The room was spacious and the toilet/shower room modern and bright. Comfy bed and great selection for breakfast. No negative comments at all except that the hotel does not have a carpark but a public car park is quite close.

Stayed a few times, clean, modern, good breakfast. Checkin sometimes slow if timed wrong and arrived when coach trip arrived.!

Hampton by Hilton are a good standard of hotels and I have never had any issues before until Tom the manager! Rude patronising belligerent and cocky would be and under statement. I arrived late at 8pm and I apologised for not letting them know. I was tired and hungry. I was informed I had to give my credit card and a charge of £1.10 would be held against it for incidentals like food and drink. I explained it was a secure company credit card that I only used for bookings. I was going to pay cash for all foods. This is when Tom started.....I can't check you in without a credit card being taken and we do not take cash for anything.....I said I wish I knew that beforehand he then raised his voice saying it's on the website did you not read it! I asked him to show me but he said he was far too busy and he would cancel my room if I didn't like it. A hotel guest then stepped up saying I could use his card as he heard Tom shouting at me and I could give him the cash and Tom shouted at him saying the credit card was to cover if I wreaked my room! I am 58 years old and just wanted some food and get to sleep. With the threat of cancellation I was forced to hand over my card details against my company's policy. My key was dropped on the counter and he turned away. I ate out at a fantastic Thai who were happy for cash and spoke to the senior day manager the following morning. She apologised and rolled her eyes when talking about Tom's attitude again and would talk to him again!

Nice relaxing 3 night stay.Breakfast just about passable.All the rooms looked to be the same outside the corridors which looked all the same built to fit a rectangular building.No parking,although overnight parking available for £10.10 three minutes' walk away.

Great views, I was sick unfortunately, so at least I saw the ocean

Family friendly with lovely kids corner in the downstairs area nothing too much trouble and staff made hug effort with children

Amazing stay at the Hampton by Hilton in Torbay. Hotel was immaculate; staff were super helpful and the breakfast offering was good

Lovely hotel which is a really welcome addition to Torquay. Great reception and comfortable rooms. Car parking is not bad considering the location, parking over the road was £10.10 a day (local council car park). Breakfast was really great, a huge selection and really good. I wasn't mad on the fact the shower door had been removed (seems to be a thing reading other reviews) as the water splashes on the floor and the grouting has started to fail. Also, the power switch for the fridge wasn't marked at all, so it took a bit of cable tracing to find out which one it was! A simple sticker would make such a difference. I will stay again next time I'm in the bay!

This is the second time we have stayed here. A fab modern hotel right in the centre of Torquay. The rooms are well equipped and cosy, the lobby is comfortable with a well stocked bar and friendly staff. Looking forward to our next trip back

It was great. Just the bed a bit soft for us. But overall it was a pleasant experience.

Friendly personal welcome. Nice room and excellent location.

Check in was satisfactory, although there was a bit of a scramble to find the correct booking. We were staying for nine nights and although the room itself was fine we were allocated rooms to the rear without a view. The rooms themselves were in good order. One observation: for my taste the pillows were too soft. The en- suites appeared to have been refurbished, but the shower had not. It was clean, however. There was something for breakfast that would suit most people, although most mornings something would have run out. The breakfast staff were working at full tilt but there weren't enough of them. This was rectified over the bank holiday weekend when they appeared to have been doubled. Overall, the experience was fairly typical of a hotel at this orice point.

Parking is a bit far but there parking in harbour available that is 10 minutes walking from Hotel

Stayed a few times in this particular Hilton and as always very nice stay. Asked for firmer pillows as ones on bed way to soft. As always staff more than willing to help out. Breakfast was good. In house bar looked great even though didn’t use. (24hrs) Will definitely stay again. 😄

It’s a very good located and pretty looking hotel , lovey people at the reception and all the way to the breakfast service . Only criticism i might have the could have be more clean with dust on the phone handle said it’s been a while it hast wiped off and under the beds was dusty as my son dropped his toys under the sofa bed. But that didn’t stop us having a fab time because people are in this hotel are very welcoming and helpful

We loved the location of the hotel, its amenities, and service.

Stayed in many Hilton’s and this as usual was satisfactory. Always very clean. Only thing I would say going forward, offer firmer pillows. Otherwise quality,cleanliness, service and breakfast all very good. Will stay again.

Staff very rude not helpful

This is our third year of staying at this hotel. It is consistently good in all repects. The staff are friendly and helpful. We particularly like the central position of the hotel being within walking distance of the harbour, town, marina, ferries, gardens and beaches.
