Great spot in Oaxaca....recently renovated in a very cool design...rooms are very comfortable and quiet but a bit dark....fantastic service and attention to detail. Breakfast is served in the courtyard and is delicious. Great location Would go back again without hesitating.

We picked this hotel for our honeymoon after reading a lot of good reviews. When we arrived the check-in experience was lovely, and our room was ready early too. The room was on the main floor and was very dark, but nicely decorated. There was a lot of noise because the kitchen was right there and throughout the day there seemed to be construction nearby. There was a lot of noise at night from a neighboring club (they provide earplugs in the room as this seems to be a consistent issue), but that wasn't our biggest problem. The second day, we left early for a tour and in a rush, I left my watch on the table in the room. When we returned in the evening, we opened the door to a smashed wine glass and a bottle of wine on the floor. These had been left for us as a honeymoon gift. The watch wasn't there on the table, but I assumed housekeeping moved it when they cleaned. The following day, I searched the hotel room and all of our belongings, and my watch was gone. I reported it to the front desk that night and they said they'd check with the housekeeping staff. When we checked out, they were very nonchalant, and offered no solution, reimbursement, or anything. Staying in a place like this was meant to be a treat, something we would rarely do, and was a significant amount of money. While there were some pros, this issue left a pretty bad taste in my mouth and I can't see myself returning to Pug Seal in the future. I work in the travel industry and will not recommend Pug Seal

Pug Seal Oaxaca is outstanding by every important measure with no shortcomings. I have traveled extensively worldwide for over 50 years. In those travels I have stayed in countless fine hotels - none surpass Pug Seal Oaxaca in terms of an overall hotel experience. The design and concept is inspired and brought to full life by an incomparable staff.

Perfect location. Unbelievable, perfect service. Amazing breakfast. Snacks and drinks all day long. From the moment we got to the hotel they made us feel like home and like family. We are going back.

Loved the art surrounding the hotel. Very swanky and romantic. The staff was lovely and easy to communicate with (via WhatsApp.) The breakfast was delicious and the coffee/honesty bar items were very convenient. The location is great too - very walkable to all major attractions in town.

The hotel, the room, the staff, the amenities are all absolutely stellar. But…on weekend nights the sound of the nearby nightclub can be heard in our room and doesn’t stop until 3am. Light sleepers beware.

The boutique hotel feels more like a large home, but not a bed and breakfast. It's a beautiful hacienda with an exceptional staff.

Can’t leave review but staff was great, property well done, rooms well appointed. Problem was room location. Room at back of hotel behind a nightclub. Mon. & Tues night I could hear a little music from club but not bad. Ended around 11pm. Wed. louder but ok. Thurs. was totally unbearable. I may as well have been there and went til around 2am Unacceptable at Youth Hostel let alone one of the more $$$ hotels in Oaxaca. Fri. was worse. Went to the front desk & comment I got was “Is it really bad?” Opened during pandemic when club weren’t open. As they opened the noise problem became apparent & during Día de los Muertos knew it was a serious problem. Still happy to rent the room at full rate. Apologetic but no other rooms open. Mentioned to manager next morning. Again very apologetic. Said were working with club to correct the problem. Didn’t make big deal when I checked out. The staff had been so nice & not their fault. Once home, I emailed corp. to complain & request refund for my stay. Got reply the next day saying they wouldn’t rent the room on weekends til problem resolved & reimbursing me was a priority. That was 6 weeks ago. Don’t know if they rent the room on weekends but I do know they haven’t reimbursed me. I not only have an issue with my room but now an issue with how poorly they’ve handled it. Hotel has a lot going for it but I can’t recommend it until they’ve corrected the noise problem. Even then, the poor handling of problem makes it hard to recommend at all

Very noisy, there are several clubs adjacent and across the street so BEWARE. it's LOUD AND THE BASS REVERBERATES THROUGH THE WALLS. ALSO, THERE IS BASICALLY NO LIGHT IN THE ROOM, JUST BED LAMPS, THE BATHROOM HAS A LIGHT JUST ABOVE THE FLOOR. THIS IS PERFET IF YOU ARE A VAMPIRE

New hotel in the heart of Oaxaca. Friendly staff, warm and efficient check in. The building is a grand Oaxaca home with inner courtyard but with an industrial modern twist. Breakfast included and 24 hour front desk.

Great stay - room and bed were very comfortable and quiet with no street noise at all. The room was well decorated and furnished so it felt more luxurious rather than just basic. The AC is great to keep the room cool and with all the shades closed, the room was super dark. The only thing to note is that the room is not super bright (frosted windows) so if you care about a lot of daylight, you should get a balcony room (not sure re: street noise though). The staff was super helpful and easy to communicate with - instant responses on whatsapp all day long!

Quaint and stylish hotel nicely appointed and located right in the heart of the historic old town with easy access to everywhere. The staff was very friendly and very helpful, ready and available to assist. I would definitely recommend a stay at the hotel.

This place is really cool a couple of blocks from Everywhere. The service is great , friendly staff , top notch service and great breakfast. The hotel is modern but respecting the old building and adding the fresco style murals makes it really unique. Great bread and coffee place across the street
