Let’s start with the positives: first, it was in Monterey. Need I say more? One of the most storied beach communities on the planet. Second the view from my room (when I finally got the room I had reserved) was breathtaking as I looked onto the 16th tee at their prestigious golf course near a hundred plus year old cypress tree. Third, great hot water pressure and an inviting walk in shower with lovely amenities.
Now for the negatives: the aforementioned balcony room. One of my creature comforts when traveling is the opportunity to have the benefit of a patio or balcony where I can get a breath of fresh air. This did not happen and it took me nearly an hour to get it resolved with little to no remorse or empathy for the obvious mistake. Next was the bed. Rock hard like the proverbial pool table. Not a good start to a good nights’ sleep. The floor was softer. Then there was the location of the room itself. It took a Sherpa and a trail of breadcrumbs to find it…..yikes!

Wonderful staff and amenities. As others have stated, the property is dated and some of the building you can hear traffic from. Our bathroom was small for a family of 4 (no tub or counter space) and the vent could use a cleaning. Otherwise the room itself was pretty standard, but comfortable and clean. The restaurant was fantastic, we enjoyed the breakfast buffet. And the games, pools, and fire pits were enjoyed by us all. The golf course looks beautiful and the gym/spa was very nice. And an easy drive to everything we wanted to see and do.

The property is very nicely kept loved the trees and views of golf course. Great location and excellent service from all staff. Very peaceful environment and loved the gym. Stay for anniversary and we will go back. Very pleased. I didn’t care for half a shower door. But overall I’m very satisfied. Thank you staff for your excellent service.

The AC condensers right outside the room were loud, producing a low drone that hurt all of our ears. It would intermittently go on and off every few minutes throughout the entire stay, it was not pleasant.

I truly love this hotel. the amenities, the location. The game area is so cool for kids to play and hang out. The view sitting at fire pits outside the bar area of the golf course are absolutely beautiful. This hotel is a gem! The room that we were given was a little bigger than your average room. It was on the side of the hotel where dogs are allowed. My only complaint is I wish I had been asked if I had a pet with me, any allergies to dogs or any fear of dogs. I think if you're going to put someone that does not have pets on that side of the hotel I think those are important questions to ask a guest.

We are extremely satisfied with the service provided throughout our stay. Our room was very clean when we arrived and we were even able to check in early. Staff was friendly and hospitable. Overall it was a great experience with many amenities to enjoy.

We were in the area of the hotel near the pool. The other residents were very noisy and we could hear every door slam and every child’s cry

This property needs a refresh. Its an older property, and that mandates extra effort by management.
The room furnishings felt tired, particularly the worn carpeting and drapes. As we walked to beakfast, i noted the numerous pieces of blackened chewing gum on the concrete paths. Disgusting and completely unacceptable.
I wont stay here again.

My favorite and go-to hotel for many years. Great location and close to 17 miles drive. Cafe and Resturant/bar is nice with quality food.

It is complicated stay, one side it is a beautiful property, but meanwhile, many things are not well maintained, such as the hot tub is pretty dirty, and The door is not blocking the sound so you can hear the high way noise in the night. For the staff, some of them are super nice, like a lady Stephany Cooper, but some staff, especially the sea root restaurant check in person, pretty rude and cold.

We had an enjoyable time in Monterey. The hotel is nice, but the beds were saggy. Definitely time to replace the mattresses. The decor is lovely, serene and modern. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was not able to accommodate the large number of guests who were there, so we had to eat breakfast elsewhere off property.

We expected to be staying in a nice room at the resort. I have stayed in nicer rooms at Motel 6. I’m sure there is nice rooms in this resort but unfortunately we did not get one. Maybe booking direct and not using Expedia would have been a better option and they give the below par rooms to the Expedia users.

Not what I expect out of a Hyatt Regency. No bottled water in room. No robes. Quilt too hot. Bathroom door barely slid shut. ADA room and the shower water leaked into the hallway. The room looked like it was last updated in the 80’s. Pool water was not in good condition. Dinner and drinks at the bar were good but there is no decent dining between breakfast and 5:00.

The hotel has a beautiful structure. The staff were friendly. However, we paid a little extra to have a golf course view. It was like looking at a desert. The view was horrible from that room. They could have done better considering that we paid extra just for the view.

This is a beautiful hotel with something for everyone; couples, families, travellers. The pools are great (although the jets on one jacuzzi were not working at all, and the other only half the side worked) and lots of games and firepits. Also a great poolside taco truck option. Would definitely stay there again.
