This is a luxurious hotel with impeccable and friendly service. We enjoyed the history and the great location, and we hope to return some day. Our only personal 'negative' is that although it's popular for hotels to use goose down duvets, we always remove them as they are too warm for our taste. We encourage providing a light blanket as a choice. Thanks for a wonderful vacation, one that will live long in our memories.

This is a cool historical hotel and the location right across the street from the park is fantastic. It’s a bit past its prime but the lingering grandeur from its heyday is still present here and there. Our room was very small and “interior” - which means we had a close up of the brick exterior of the building next door as the only view from our window. I gave 4 stars as the room and condition of the hotel did not quite match the price but perhaps it’s location location location. We also ordered room service for dinner and breakfast from Ciprianis and it was excellent (chicken was really great). We wouldn’t mind staying here again but would definitely try an alternative in the same location if the price was better.

Excellent location within walking distance to museums, dining, Broadway, shopping and Central Park. We did use taxi service for convenience and speed. The hotel staff treated us excellent. Room service was timely and good. The room was very clean. Being very picky here, the chairs in the living area needed to be updated. The seat cushions had to be flipped often as the interior padding was crushed.The hotel is old yet maintained with most of the rooms used for residents.

Everything about this stay was truly wonderful up until about 10:00 am the day of check-out. I left from 8:00 - 10:00 am to go tour the flower district and came back to a room literally filled with smoke. I called the front desk, they came immediately, and I left. I received no follow up or apology until I left a personal review note for the hotel. They then did apologize and offered a complimentary night if I were to return. I am afraid that I won't be returning, because it was a little scary. Hopefully they will get their furnace, or whatever, fixed before someone wakes in the middle of the night to a room filled with smoke. Great size and location.

The Sherry-Netherland is a gem. It’s an exquisite example of a superb, top notch, traditional, high quality hotel. The rooms are tastefully appointed, extremely quiet, and deliciously comfortable. The hotel staff is attentive, smooth, charming, and beyond professional. It’s location could not be more convenient to Central Park and all surrounding points of interest. We were able to have our car handled easily by the hotel for our stay, and being able to bring our dog made staying at The Sherry even better.
This is an experience. Not just a stay. We’ll be back.

BAD: There was large scale construction going on to the upper floor private residences. There was a very audible THUD THUD coming from a facilities closet two doors away from my suite. It was heard between 8AM to 9 PM when I was in the room. There was audible humming AC mechanical equipment below the room located on the NE corner and 5 floors below. Ear plugs were necessary to sleep. Otherwise quiet.
GOOD: Location, location, location. Staff was wonderful. Comfortable bed and living room in my suite. Kitchenette had all you would need if you actually wanted to do very minor cooking.

This is by far the best hotel I have ever visited in NYC. The level of service is like nothing I have ever experienced - the staff is amazing, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The entire hotel is beautiful, spotless and quiet. If you can stay here, do! You won't be disappointed.

This is an odd hotel. Maybe the best location in NYC. An old school place with doormen and elevator operators but little else. Maybe the worst bed I have slept in in a hotel. It felt like there was a hole in the middle. The room itself was old but attractive clean and quiet. I wanted to like this place but don’t see staying here again.

Period features make this a classic hotel. The brilliant staff were excellent in all regards. Room size was very large and had two en-suite facilities. House keeping were particularly excellent and accommodating to our needs. Would stay here again most definitely.

We had a wonderful stay. All of the staff were so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The room was clean, freshly renovated, and the beds were very comfortable. Drinks from the mini bar were complimentary and flowers and chocolates were in the room when we arrived. It felt like we were staying in a doorman apartment building and not a hotel.
