It is a beautiful setting and property. The staff are very efficient and courteous. We was slightly disappointed in some aspects of lunch and breakfast (soft eggs in the menus on both occasions were hard), but they were happy to replace them. The risotto was quite bland and stodgy but we didn't say that at the time. Please can you change boring ground pepper for fresh pepper on the table and the wine glasses do little to enhance the quality of the wines tasted. Lovely to have had some thin elegant red wine glasses to drink out of. Minor details, but this is a superb 5* establishment all the way and just some little touches needed to make it even better.

This is a truly magical destination. It has history, style and friendly service. Exploring the various rooms, corridors and tunnel all add to the magic of this place. The food is excellent and I should mention the whisky to add to/with the morning porridge! The grounds are fabulous and extend down to the beach and the Spa a delight. This is our third stay and not our last.

The hotel is full of character and the staff are all friendly and helpful. The grounds are spacious, beautiful and very natural and the whole place feels homely in an up-market way.

What a refreshing experience to return somewhere after a few years and find it is just as good, if not better than before. Outstanding service from Oliver heading up the restaurant, genuinely wonderful food, superb spa perfect service from check in to departure. Consistent staff over the years who clearly take pride in what they do, and they do it superbly.

Really nice hotel, would like to return. The only problem was Expedia’s website said we would get a ‘Separate bath and shower’, however it was a small bathroom with a shower over the bath, not like the photos or description. Luckily the lovely receptionist managed to change us to a room that matched what we booked. Expedia need change their website information.

The service throughout was exceptional and all staff were pleasant helpful and always smiling. We cannot fault any of the meals we enjoyed during our stay and we believe good value. BIG but from both of us was that the swimming pool area was tired ie. tiles missing or broken. and plaster crumbling and in need of paint in lots of areas ie. dining room, our rooms bathroom.

The hotel is a beautiful capsule of traditional architecture. Wonderfully manicured lawns. The staff were friendly and always willing to help. The food was delicious. We had the most wonderful time at the spa. The sauna and steam rooms helped relieve our bodies from jet lag. The warm pools and the variety of treatments available were amazing.

I took my 6 and 9 year old daughters to Bailiffscourt for a girls weekend and we all loved it. Quiet, idyllic location. The room was a great size and the beds were very comfortable. Good sized bathroom with lots of toiletries and robes for everyone. The pools were great. the outside pool was a little too cold, so we stayed inside. The kids are only allowed in at certain times, which is understandable as it's a spa hotel, but were made very welcome. Food was delicious - we tried the room service for lunch and had breakfast in the main house. The only thing I would change is the morning kids pool time. They are allowed in the pool between 10 and 11am but check out is 11am. A little extra time to get changed would have been appreciated.

Excellent service and beautiful buildings. Did feel the bathroom needed maintenance/painting for the amount of money they should be on top of refurbishments as a 5* establishment.

Beautiful, wonderful and wondrous. We’d come here again and again. We enjoyed everything and our children as well.

It is a treat to stay in such a beautiful hotel where the heritage is treasured. The staff and service are truly excellent. We have stayed before and standards have been maintained. As a porridge lover I can honestly say breakfast is a treat each morning.

Lovely staff, unfortunately hot tub and jacuzzi out of action. Make sure book ahead for spa as gets very full. Very friendly to dogs and in a beautiful position by sea.

Great hotel, excellent foods, perfect location

Beautiful location, wonderful food and service. The pools and spa were top notch delightful. Our dog was welcomed too, which was the icing on the cake.

Very quirky collection of properties close to the main hotel. Our room was very comfortable with all the facilities we required. We didn’t get chance to use the pool snd spa. Great service from all the team and we will return.

Beautiful place for a romantic mini break, the staff were very accommodating and helpful too. Food was excellent, location perfection, spa treatments were wonderful. I can't fault anything honestly. Room for improvement; we did mention it was our 1 year wedding anniversary and most hotels you would expect to make note of this and give some kind of small recognition, flowers, chocs for example or even just a note would have been a nice touch, carpet in our room was a little worse for wear as was the sofa too, I would have liked to have seen more homemade breakfast options such as jams, etc given they have so much wonderful produce on their doorstep, afternoon tea sandwiches were also slightly underwhelming so a bigger selection would have been nice to see (the cakes and scones however were lovely). All in all an absolutely lovely place and we would certainly recommend and return!

From the moment we arrived. We both (and especially our dog Mabel) we’re made to feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and the surrounding so relaxing. A 5 min walk to the beach was the cherry on the cake.

Excellent service throughout. Facilities are kept very well . I liked the idea of the fixed hours for a children swimming. Cookies were delicious. It will be nice if you could sell us few to take home.

Gorgeous buildings in beautiful grounds. Fantastic facilities and super friendly staff. My only negative comment is they need to up their vegan game as it wasn’t very imaginative and £57 for three courses of veg, veg and fruit seems quite expensive.

Beautiful old buildings, very warm and comfortable. Wife and I stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed everything, excellent food and drink and lovely room. Good service and a very relaxing spa (book all your treatments well ahead of your arrival or you will be disappointed)

Lovely olde world hotel with superb food and a great spa

I had a lovely garden veiw room The staff are lovely..especially the charming French lady at breakfast! The chef ..wonderful poached and scrambled eggs.The Lobster soup was delicious Unfortunately the Zucchini Flowers were not good and the hazelnut souffle was very heavy and .stodgy ! The Spa is such a treat and Maria gave a great massage/ reflexology.

Hotel is set in really lovely grounds and very comfy rooms.
