We had a lovely stay in Portobello for a family getaway with 3 generations, as a special nostalgia trip for my Scots Mum with early dementia. The property is barely a 2 minute walk from the beach, and very easy walk to the bus stop into Edinburgh City. Very clean and everything accommodated for. The living room was particularly gorgeous and superbly decorated. The jacuzzi bath was an added treat! The property owner had brilliant communication and was very helpful. Thank you for a lovely accommodation for our trip 😊

It was our second time staying at this home, and it was great once again. The area is perfect, great location by the beach and great access to public transport. The home was very clean and had everything we could ask for. Would 100% come back again!

The house was exactly as described but the interior finishes exceeded our expectations. The rear east facing garden area was an added bonus. The only point to beware of is that parking in the street is hard to get, however parking is available a few streets away.

This property is in an excellent location. A block from beach, a block from High st., and 3 miles from Edinburgh center. Easy access to bus system. Property was perfect for adult family with plenty of space. Host communicated very well. Highly recommend this location.

Lovely house, very clean and tidy. We were there at the weekend and it was sunny and warm, so it was very busy but still managed to park fairly close to the house. Comms and access arrangements were very good. Would certainly use again.

We had to contact the owner about starting the stove, where to exchange currency, on temperature control in home. A binder with home and local information was needed

The house was absolutely perfect for our group, very clean, beautifully decorated and a really comfortable home from home. Close to some nice pubs, restaurants and lovely beach cafes. The bus stop into the city was close by but it’s also a lovely walk in via Holyrood park. The only downside is we didn’t stay long enough!

We've just returned from fantastic break in Portobello. I've holidayed in Edinburgh a number of times but this was the first time in Portobello and we would definitely return (and return to this great pad too!) The area was trendy, cool with lots of great places to eat and drink, topped off with an amazing, beautiful beach. The beach, whilst dog-friendly , was perfectly clean and well maintained. Patricks pad also provided a great place to venture a little further out and explore the wider edinburgh area, whilst also providing easy access to the city centre which we regularly visited. The house itself is great, with beautiful fittings, comfy beds and a brilliant stocked kitchen with every gadget you can think of. Finally, the owner himself was great to deal with, always prompt with replies for information and accommodating when it came to ad hoc requests. Thoroughly enjoyable stay! Would definitely return.

Very tidy, clean and well equipped!!! Stayed in April 2024. Peaceful street with everything you could need in a short walking distance, including a great beach. Wish we could of enjoyed the house more than the two days we booked.

Wonderful location. Great house. Lots of restaurants cafes pubs bakeries. Even a kilt shop on High Street for my daughter’s wedding. Easy to get Ubers downtown. We’re from the U.S. and have raveled a lot, and found this to be as fun a location as many other places we’ve stayed. Thanks

The property is a wonderful home with all the facilities you need. Everything is comfortable and warm. It is in a lovely location with a 5 minute walk to a lovely beach and to the shops and restaurants, which are great for nice food and friendly service. Easy access to Edinburgh city only 15 minutes away. The property manager communicates well with you and tells you all you need to know and manages your expectations.

I stayed here with a party of 7 people. It was perfect! More than enough space for this amount of people. Taxis into the centre of Edinburgh took less than 15 minutes. The area of portobello itself is fabulous for cafes/brunch and the beach. The host and his neighbour were great! Communication was amazing and the host was so attentive to any needs and questions we had. Would stay here again 100% if I were to head back to Edinburgh. Thank you!

perfect base for visiting relatives in Scotland, excellent local eateries, great public transport and easy access on the roads to the borders and Aberdeenshire. Enjoyed beautiful Edinburgh again and were able to cook in the superbly equipped kitchen

Never rented a property before. I researched, settled on Vrbo, and decided on this rental property. I am so glad I did. We had the absolute best time and experience. The entire process from booking, communications, instructions for checking in, etc, very easy. The rental was very clean, private, fully equipped, there's several stores near by, and everything is within walking distance. Safe neighborhoods, great places to eat at, shop at, folks were friendly and engaging, and we felt secured and very welcomed. The beach and ocean, literally a block or two away. It was absolutely perfect!! Dress warm, the wind was chilly for even us experienced Alaskans. We LOVED our entire trip, staying at this rental property for sure, and would absolutely rent here again. I can't imagine staying anywhere else.

Lovely girls weekend in very comfortable accommodation - for once we all had our own bedrooms! 2 1/2 bathrooms was great and steps from an amazing beach. Host and meet&greet super helpful throughout. We’ll be back!

Beautiful home that accommodated 7 adults nicely. Loved hearing the seagulls in the morning! Easy access to the beach & High St where buses got us to Edinburgh & other points easily. Our host Patrick responded quickly to our questions. We truly enjoyed our stay & hopefully will have an opportunity to return!

Amazing location, clean, responsive host.

My American cousins and I had a wonderful 3 nights in Edinburgh, finishing off our road trip round Scotland. The house suited our needs perfectly and Rosalyn was lovely and very helpful. The only slightly down side was a rowdy party by some neighbours which spilled out onto the street quite late, but that was quite beyond anyone's control. Leaving milk in the fridge for us was a thoughtful touch.

We had a great stay, the location of the property is absolutely brilliant, with both the gorgeous beach and the lovely high street of independent shops of Portobello right on the doorstep. We did, however, feel that the quality of the accommodation and the level of the furniture and fixtures did not live up to the premium price tag. Overall I would still recommend this as a good place to stay, and a few small changes and improvements (which I will provide separately to the host) will potentially make it great!

Overall nice stay found house getting a bit tired needs TLC ,garden furniture in need of replacement Was told furniture is being changed that week but never happened ,parking is a problem

We enjoyed our stay. Very nice property at nice location close to Edinburgh city centre.

Our second stay. Ideal for the Festival and dog walks on the nearby beach. 30 mins into central Edinburgh by one of several bus routes from bus stops 3 minutes from the house. Lots of coffee places, restaurants and small shops nearby. 4 good size bedrooms. Two bathrooms and three toilets. Good size kitchen with everything needed to cook. Big lounge and separate dining room. Little bits of maintenance needed but nothing critical. Really recommended.

Location is excellent, easy get to downtown by bus. House is well equipped with a lot of restaurants.
