Bar was lovely, walkable area, very convenient location!

Single night stay for trip to Reading. Excellent location within sight of the railway station. Room was large and comfortable, and had both bath and shower. The only down part for me was that the TV channel list was not as extensive as I am used to in hotels.

Great room.

Room had only one bedside/table light, with a dodgy connection. This was fine as a single occupant who didn't want to use the desk anyways. Half the USB sockets didn't work either. Power sockets all very inconveniently positioned. Definitely not what I was expecting, given reputation and price, I was disappointed.

Absolutely fantastic service from reception who were attentive and professional in my requests. 10/10! Hotel wise it’s your typical Malmaison dark chic and very contemporary. Location wise you couldn’t get any closer to the train station so for anyone needing to be close to the station please use this hotel!

Great location near the train station and town centre shops and bars. Beautiful room, nice and spacious. Little touches like ferrero rocher on arrival.

Used to be much better. Seen better days. Rooms felt dirty, smelled of awful cleaning product. Fabric headboard stank and you can't really open the windows. Bar and restaurant are redeeming features, but won't be back anytime soon.

A quick stop between work days the staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was clean, spaceous and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with prompt service.

I have early stage arthritis in both hips and due to the customer lifts being out of order. Despite mentioning this to a member of staff at reception I had to struggle up three flights of stairs and the other stairs that were in place for five nights. On Tuesday evening one member of the reception staff accompanied me to the third floor in the staff lift but on all the other nights I had to struggle up the stairs as nobody seemed to be interested in helping me. I have therefore decided that I will not be using the Malmaison in future. I chose the hotel for its convenience to the train station due to my condition.

Very good stay

Good location, very close to railway station and city center as Reading is not a big city at all. The hotel room is well equipped and clean, friendly staff. While the bed is comfortable, feather down duvet is too much for summer nights. And last night was Euro final, you can hear all the sound outside till very late.

The hotel was clean, service staff excellent, restaurant excellent. However the lifts were only 1/2 functioning during our 3 night stay and on checkout both lifts were not functioning. We had to ask for help from the front desk as we were four flights up.

Lovely hotel we stayed for one night to attend a celebration event. Room very smart and spacious large bathroom with bath and shower too. Would definitely stay here again.

Very close proximity to the train station

Staff were fine but this hotel is long overdue a refurb. Shower was badly lime scaled and shower tray was dirty and chipped. shower pressure and heat wasn't great. 3 rules - Clean, comfortable bed and good shower - you failed on 2 out of 3. only the comfy bed saved you from a 1 star if I'm honest.

Excellent location across street from rail station. Many restaurants, shops in walking distance. Excellent, friendly staff.

Heading to Heathrow next made it a great stop. Handy to transport, restaurants, and pleasant walking paths.

Very nice hotel in central Reading close to station and restaurants. Fantastic staff who were friendly and very attentive. The only downside was there are no parking facilities so it was a long walk to the car

First impression is excellent, but 2 things are really poor. 1)the USB charger is not functioning and discharge the phone battery, 2)the shower is too weak and the hot water control is “hard to handle”
