ホストは私達を最寄りのバス停へ迎えにきてくれました。帰りもです。またホストは連絡をすぐに返事してくれますのでアクセスへの心配は入りません。カカオ農園に連れて行ってくれて、カカオやフルーツを食べました！　人生で初めてカカオ農園へ行き最高の体験ができました。そして、私達は幸運にもナマケモノを見ることができました！　朝ごはんはコスタリカの伝統料理と美味しいホットチョコレート🤤またここにきます^ ^

Lovely warm welcome from staff, nice setting, good hot shower.

Very rustic accommodation.

El personal fue muy atento. El desayuno muy rico. Nos dieron varias frutas y un paquete de granos de cacao caramelizados muy ricos.

Que no pude estar tanto tiempo en el lugar, me hubiera gustado quedarme mas.

The staff are very kind.

Including the word “lodge” in the name of the property is misleading. It is a residential property that is being used for short term rentals. There’s no reception, no common area (aka lodge), or any full time staff. I also felt misled as I was told I’d have access to a farm with a soccer field and a pool. That didn’t happen. To their credit, I received a slight discount (about $20 total) for lack of access to the farm/pool. As I checked out, I planned on paying with a credit card… I was told at the last minute that that was not possible.

Die in den vorangegangenen Bewertungen positiv hervorgehobenen Annehmlichkeiten der Chocolate Lodge hätten wir auch sehr gerne genossen, insbesondere die schöne Lage in der Kakaoplantage, eine vollstädig ausgestattete Küche, Fliegengitter ... Leider wurde uns erst bei Ankunft mitgeteilt, dass es ein Problem mit der Unterkunft gäbe und wir das Haus daher nicht nutzen könnten. Statt dessen wurden wir zu einer ca. 5 km weit entferntes "Ersatzzimmer" gebracht, das in einer Art Vereinsheim untergebracht war. Eine funktionierende Dusche (nur kalt) gab es lediglich außerhalb dieser Unterkunft, eine Küche war überhaupt nicht vorhanden ebenso keine Fliegengitter vor den Fenstern, die de facto nur aus Wandausschnitten (auch ohne Scheiben o.d.g.) bestanden. Ab 7 Uhr in der Früh gab es reges Treiben auf dem Grundstück ... Eine Preisreduktion für dieses "Angebot" gab es erst, als wir aktiv darauf bestanden haben. Der Gastgeber hat sich zwar um einen Ersatz bemüht, allerdings hätten wir gerne vor unserer Anreise gewusst, dass die Lodge nicht zur Verfügung steht. Dann hätten wir uns selbst noch um eine Alternative kümmern können. Nach unserer Ankunft am Abend wurden wir praktisch vor vollendete Tatsachen gestellt. Diese Ersatzunterkunft war die mit Abstand schlechteste Unterbringung während unseres gesamten Urlaubs in Costa Rica ...

Very helpful owners, even when we locked ourselves out of the house at 9pm they were very kind and travelled to open it with a spare key.

I liked everything from the interaction with Oscar prior to my arrival, to the breakfast, the accomodation, the room size and amenities included on the room and the comfort of the bed, linen, towels, and sitting area at the entrance of the room, I would recommend it for sure. - Oscar, I look forward to come back in the future, and enjoy your delicious breakfast.
