La ubicación está genial, el personal de lo más buena onda, tiene un ambiente acogedor y buena vibra. Sirven un desayuno además puedes preparar tu comida, una terraza gigante. Tiene el barrio más bonito al lado y una Pastelería al justo debajo.

- L’ambiance. La convivialité. - Dortoirs filles bien. La petite tablette à côté du lit, c’est bien penser. Lit propre, sdb aussi. - Avoir un petit dej (bon pain et des fruits) - La terrasse sur le toit et les hamacs - Le petit salon pour se poser

- Le dortoir pourrait être amélioré notamment l’espace à côté de la sdb. Un grand miroir par exemple. - Pour le petit dej, peut-être mettre une protéine ou du fromage par exemple. Si on aime ni le beurre, ni la confiture de fraise c’est compliqué! - L’immeuble/maison dans lequel a été créé l’hostel est un peu original. On dirait un garage géant. Ce n’est pas dérangeant du tout mais ça peut surprendre. Ce n’est pas spécialement « beau ». Le seul point vraiment dérangeant c’est qu’on entend tout et les portes en métal font beaucoup de bruit.

It's like a calm little oasis in the middle of the busy city. I love it. Great WiFi in the common areas and it's a really good space to work from too. I stayed in a female dorm and slept like an absolute dream. The showers are really great too. I accept that many places the water isn't that warm, but these hot showers were a real treat. There's a massive roof top area, with a lovely little bar ($50 for a really nice Espadin Mexcal? Yes please!) and plenty of room for yoga. This hostel will always be my first choice for booking in the city from now on.

I wasn't quite keen on the lockers being in the reception area. Even though they were padlocked, I'd feel more comfortable with them being in the same room as me. But that's just my preference and the whole place felt really friendly and secure, so no issue really x

Perfect location, nice chill out areas, toast and fruit for breakfast in the morning. There is a lovely rooftop area for chilling also. Good kitchen with equipment for cooking. We could check in early as our room was ready, but equally the chairs in the chill out area were perfect while we waited - which is needed after a night bus. We also could store our bags and use the space to chill out the day we were leaving.

Very friendly owner who was welcoming and chatted with us. The room had a fan to keep us cool and fresh towels were provided. There was fruit, bread and coffee provided every morning for breakfast and the kitchen was useful to cook dinner in.

The wifi didn’t reach our room.

We enjoyed our stay here, the owner is super friendly and asked how we were every day. When one of us got sick she was very sweet and we ended up extending our stay. The rooms are small but comfortable. They’re always cleaning and everything is kept spotless. Location is ideal, 5 min walk from the bus station.

We only had 1 plug in the bedroom which was taken by the fan. Could have a better selection for breakfast.

Marine was an incredible host. She goes above and beyond for her guests! The hostel is in a great location, only 5 minutes from the ADO bus station and 10/15 minutes walk into Centro. It is also super close to the cool little neighbourhood Jalatlaco. The hostel itself is very quirky. It has a great communal area. 100% recommend this hostel! Hopefully we will be back :-) Kayleigh & Kyle x

Great place with lots of potential. We stayed here when Marine just opened, so it was still a bit in the make. The bed was very comfortable, good shower and everything very clean. Delicious coffee in the morning with toast and fresh fruits. Very well located, close to the city, good restaurants and bars. Merci pour tout Marine et bonne chance pour l‘ avenir! Joke & Lorenz

A really good location in Oaxaca. The room was very comfortable and clean. There is no AC but this is expected with the price. The hotel is brand new so everything is in excellent condition. The hotel owner is extremely helpful and kind. The communal bathroom was pristinely clean and had good shower pressure etc. There is a comfortable communal area and a real friendly and community feel to the hotel. We were sad to leave and would very happily return.

There is limited hangers and shelving in the rooms, however, we shared this with the owner and she informed us she intends to improve this. Apart from that, it was fantastic.

The female dorm room was spacious and cool at night, with a good sized bathroom/shower in the room. Comfy bed with multiple blankets to use. No lockers in the room but there were some near reception for use. There is a comfy sitting area and a hammock. The breakfast was good, toast with butter/jam, fresh fruit and coffee. Drinking water available, well stocked kitchen. In a good area near the bus station, a large park and restaurants nearby. No sign but the door was easy enough to find.

The doors to all the rooms are extremely loud when opening and closing them. The wifi did not reach the dorm room and there was also no cell service in there. The lighting in the common area and in the rooms wasn’t great.

Worst place we ever stayed at. First of all, they call themselves a hotel which they are clearly not. They just opened the place which of course would allow for some flawes. However, nothing was ready. In the "rooms" was only a bed. No night stalls, no bed lights, no mirror, nothing. It felt like a prison cell because it had bars before the windows. The bed was uncomfortable and had 100% polyester sheets. Towels were not included in the price. The shower and toilet area made us really uncomfortable as there was no privacy at all! Mirrors all in the open, toilet next to shower which were not closed. So someone could easily look from shower in toilet and otherway around. Toilet didnt even had a paper holder. Common area was not finished, just some pillows on the ground. You can hear every noise in the building in every room as they are not closed (just by bars). Breakfast was toast with marmelade. I would feel ashamed if i opened a place like this and felt sorry for the workaway people who were running it. The price they ask for this is outrageous. Do not go here especially as a woman i felt unsafe.

New, unique, and constantly improving, I visited for several nights on two occasions. It's a hostel made with travelers in mind, with flexible check-in/check-out policies and a place to leave your bags before your bus or flight. Marine is a wealth of knowledge about the area and how to move effectively and easily within Oaxaca and beyond using public and private conversation. Her vision for the hostel is inspiring and it was gratifying to see how much it had progressed just in the week between my two stays.

Even tho the property is new and they are still doing it up, here some comments: The dorms doors are super noisy The bed blankets are not warm enough I strongly suggest soap on toilet sinks in the dorms otherwise people will not wash their hands (Covid and stuff…)

I really enjoyed my stay in Casa Maguey, the property is new but it was great cuz everything is new also 🤩, the location is great!! just walking distance from bars and restaurants, Marine is a super host. I truly recommend this place!
