Our stay at the farmhouse at Mackworth was overall very good but spoiled slightly but the fact that my wife and I woke up covered in little bites. the staff were amazing and the place was very very nice so to wake up to this was very strange and must be a total anomaly as I would be surprised if the cleanliness didn’t match the high standards set elsewhere

Stayed in the Junior Suite, super king size bed and a roll top bath to relax in. The food and drink in the restaurant / bar was very good. It was a sunny day so it was busy and great atmosphere. Would recommend this for a lovely stay.

Fantastic place to stay! Easy to find. Plenty parking, spacious comfortable room with everything you'd need. Food is superb!

Bedroom was clean and quiet. Stayed just for the night on business. Ate at the bar ordered burger which came with the really skinny fries which I didn’t like but the burger was tasty. Disappointed with breakfast ordered full English which came with 1 slice of toast a small pot of beans 6 strips of streaky burnt bacon and 1 sausage along with 2 eggs for a tenner. Coffee and juice I had to pay extra for. I will eat breakfast out next time.

Nice and comfortable stay, with little touches such as hand made biscuit in bedroom, dressing gowns and warm rooms.

Great short stay for a nearby wedding. Clean and comfortable, huge room. It's a shame we only slept there and didn't have time to enjoy the property for longer.

First time we’ve stayed here, was a little bit unsure on what to expect with it being a 3* hotel, however don’t less this rating put you off. We arrived and the place looked amazing, nice cosy pub with a great atmosphere, staff were lovely and very helpful. Our room was spotless, cosy and very comfortable. The homemade cookies were very nice too that were in our room. Only downfall I’d say is there was no fan in the room and the bed could be a little bigger. Even though the pub is downstairs, you cannot hear anything from your room, only time we heard any noise was when some people went back to their room. I highly recommend the breakfast, me and my partner had the flatbread which was amazing and very filling ! Would stay here again as it was a lovely place to stay and food was spot on. Huge thumbs up from me and my partner .

We were concerned about the very steep stairs up to the attic room, which we had been allocated. Also , there were 2 steps up to the room once we'd got to the top of the stairs, then 2 very awkward stairs down in to the ensuite. We are both slim people, but even for us, the entrance to the shower cubicle, was very narrow and the doors did not meet each other, so therefore, water escaped. Although the cooked breakfast was tasty, there was no choice of other items like juice, fruit, cereal or yoghurt, so we decided not to have our breakfast there, on the second morning of our stay.

The room was clean and comfortable and really more suitable for more able bodied people. We had not asked for any special conveniences as we were just glad to get a room. Our room was at the top of the building and the stairs were not really suitable for my mum and disabled son. The ensuite bathroom was down some steps and again not really suitable.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were extremely helpful and polite. Little disappointed with Breakfast as I enjoy the choice of cereal cooked, fruit and yoghurt but mainly only cooked offered. However, it was tasty.

Good environment. But there is need for phones and refrigerators in the rooms.

We choose this property as it was close to Alton tower and it was really good value for money. The room where really well decorated and of a high standard. We where staying with our children and they put us next door to each other which was very convenient. It was clean the carpets where cream so very stained (so need cleaning) but the walls and décor where to a very high standard. It was very nicely put together and the further convenience was to walk downstairs to get your food. The food was good enough and the staff where very friendly. The pub was also nicely decorated and had a good atmosphere and we found it quiet in the evening, even though we were over the bar area. All in all good experience
