Very welcoming and Andy particularly helpful. Nice room and very comfortable bed. All as it should be and an enjoyable breakfast. Would certainly stop at this pub again..

The property was a lot shabbier than it looked in the photos. They tried to take payment two days before we arrived, even tho I chose pay on arrival. The staff were a bit bolshy about it when I called. We booked a ‘King’ room but it was only a double bed. I’m not following up as it was only one night and visiting relatives. Would not stay here again

Really liked the pub. We stayed for a wedding in the local area. Accommodation was quiet, bed was comfortable and the bed linen and towels were great quality.

The staff was wonderful! Andy went out of his way to accommodate us for an early flight. And the fish pie was scrumptious!

Lovely little find! We stayed there as we were going to a gig at Audley End. The staff were extremely friendly, very helpful in organising our taxi to and from the gig. Foodwise, we enjoyed a lovely lunch outside and the breakfast the next morning was delicious (perfect after the festivities at Audley End). Very reasonably priced, clean rooms. Would definitely stay again and will be telling all my friends!

Enjoyable stay and very convenient location if your attending an event at Parklands nearby. The breakfast options are plentiful and the energetic host Andy is a top guy!

Country pub only 20 minutes from Stansted, good location for early flights. Rooms were good, beds were really comfortable and good shower. We left before breakfast started at 8am, and heard several leaving before us so it would be nice if there was a to go option of a breakfast bar, yogurt, piece of fruit etc.

Great setting next to pretty village green, great breakfast, comfortable bed.
Some attention needed to facilities, eg shower drainage, potholes near building, needed to request several basic items at breakfast.

We came in the evening after a long flight, and we were greated by some very welcoming hosts. They took good care of us, we got some good beers in the bar before bedtime 😋 very comfy beds and nice rooms. We will come back next time 😊

The governors Andy & Carol & all the staff are so friendly & hospitality second to none. The regulars also such lovely people too, dog friendly, the food was exceptionally good, great choice of craft beers, very clear & comfortable rooms, excellent location to Stanstead Airport, great function rooms to. 5 * rating from me a very happy guest indeed 👍

Super friendly staff that make you feel extremely welcome and take the time to make conversation with you.
