Sublimely extravagant boutique hotel. We have stayed in many luxury hotels and few boutique hotels and El Candil is by far the most amazing experience (yes it's not a stay it's an experience) we have ever had the pleasure of. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming and there is nothing they won't do for you. Arranging tours, transfers and great advice. Attention to detail is in every aspect of your experience. We were treated to a roof top terrace with only one other guest. A barman/server and two chefs! We felt like Royalty. Fresh cocktails made to order and beautiful food made fresh to order whilst soaking up the relaxing atmosphere of the private (for guest) roof terrace. The room is beautifully decorated,again with attention to detail in everything. The bed, bedding and pillow are sumptuous. We can't recommend El Candil enough our only regret was not booking this hotel for our entire stay in Havana. We will definitely be back and cannot recommend the hotel and it's staff enough.

The hotel is about 10 minutes by taxi out of the old Havana area, it felt safe and welcoming the minute you arrived. Yanetxy and Rosebel were most helpful and accommodating at this beautiful boutique hotel. We were given suggestions were to eat and how to stay safe while touring around Havana. They were instrumental in arranging our vintage car tour of Havana which was incredible! There is a roof top bar and a restaurant that serves amazing food. Definitely will stay here again when we come back to Cuba!

Excellent on all Levels, Great and Beautiful place. Excellent food as well, ama,ing chef and very quiet location. My one and only complain which is very minor is that i was charged $3.00 (us) for a very, very, very small cup of coffee and it was even half full!!! I thought it was absurd. But over all experience was Excellent. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return.

We asked for an appropriate refund but only got 10 $ off the bill, which is a joke for two out of three nights with no decent air conditioning. Also, the water in the mini bar is far too expensive! Last not leat we were not happy with the transfer. As we had booked one of the two rooms for a whole week, we were told, there would be a pick-up from the airport included. Well, we got a lift but we had to pay 35 $ for it and were then told by the hotel that a free pick-up does not apply when the booking is via Expedia and not directly!

This hotel is beautiful, clean and comfortable. The staff are so lovely and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet stay in a special place with genuine staff. We stayed here with a toddler and it was great could he could play in the courtyard as we were on the ground floor suite. We were even able to rent a stroller which meant one less thing to travel with. The food was also really good. We loved our stay here and would go back again!

Absolutely loved this privately owned hotel! The staff was super friendly and recommended places to eat and stuff to do. It was the main reason why I booked this spot. They were easy to get ahold of, made sure we had a ride to and from the airport and anything we did! Definitely would stay here again.
