Excellent location, welcoming friendly hosts,

Bathroom facilities on a separate floor to our bedroom.

Our room was very cosy and comfortable, with fresh flowers (from the garden) to make extra homely. Good wifi access. The breakfast is very good - as full a continental breakfast as you will find anywhere - this was taken at a large, splendid wooden table in the pleasant dining/living room. Very friendly hosts and Wim(William) is very knowledgeable about the local area and Dutch history/culture (and much more besides) - we enjoyed breakfast conversations. They kindly lent us bicycles, so we were able to explore the local area, including the nearby National Park (woodland, dunes, lakes and coast) - this was much appreciated Frans Hals B&B is located close to Haarlem train/bus station (an easy 10 minute walk) and makes for a good base. Haarlem is a delightful, elegant town, with easy access to the coast (cycle or walk) and very regular trains to Amsterdam (20 minutes journey). Staying in Haarlem is more pleasurable than being in the 'hustle and bustle' of Amsterdam. Recommend a visit to the Teyler's Museum - it is a real wonder. Also recommend a visit to Kerkenhof flower garden - it offered a floral spectacle and entertainment in the pavilions for a full day. We spent an enjoyable 6 nights here and would be very happy stay at Frans Hals B&B again - recommended.

Nothing of any consequence. It would have been a bonus to have had fresh fruit offered as an option for breakfast - but we did visit in winter!

Wim & Kitty are excellents hosts. They have a beautiful home, with a lovely bedroom so clean and comfortable with all you need. Excellent breakfast. They are so kind and helpful with advising you on transport and places to see, will definately be back

My stay here was very good . The owners went out of their way to make my stay as comfortable as possible . I really enjoyed learning about Haarlem and Netherlands from my host who gave me great ideas about what to see and do during my stay . An added bonus was the use of a bicycle that allowed me to explore further and enjoy the area even more .

Shared bathroom for our stay and shower was small down the hall. Only so much you can do about that.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. They let us use two bicycles while we were there. The BandB was very walkable to train station and city center. The breakfast was delicious and fresh. Preferred to stay here in Haarlem over congested Amsterdam. Easy train ride to Amsterdam. Would stay here again.

Wim and Kitty were wonderful hosts, friendly, caring and full of knowledge and they catered to our every need. We enjoyed a comfortable stay and a delicious European style breakfast, with plenty of food to keep us going throughout the day. The property is only 10/15 minutes walk from the centre of Haarlem, in a nice area, and we were able to park our car close by, free of charge, which was a huge bonus. I would thoroughly recommend the accommodation and a big thank you to both Wim and Kitty for helping to make our first visit to Haarlem such a lovely experience.

I hadn't realised when booking that the toilet and shower room were separate. This didn't cause any problems as both rooms were next door to our bedroom and we didn't have to share the facilities with other guests.

Breakfast was excellent. We enjoyed pleasant conversation with the owner daily. William was very helpful in recommendations of things to do in the area. Truly a great host.

We were fortunate to be the only guests due to off-season travel. The lack of private bathroom inside our room would have been my only suggestion for change. It is a shared bathroom and shower room with others on the floor.

Good location and breakfast

Close enough to be able to walk to downtown and monuments. William and Kitty were very helpful and provided guidance to make the most of our stay.
