The Om Kolthoom Hotel was perfect for my needs. It was quiet, clean, close to attractions, and upstairs from a 24-hour cafe and restaurant. The staff was also very respectful and friendly without being pushy. And because it was a holiday weekend in Cairo, I lucked out and had the pool to myself - so it felt very VIP. And as far as design and views go, it looks better in person than in pictures because this is an older hotel with old-fashioned, but tasteful furniture that don't show up that well in photos -- and their is a view of the Nile, but a parking lot in front. Once you're there, you can kind of ignore this. It's super pleasant and great for people who need a child getaway. And this location is great for foreigners, including western women traveling alone. You'll feel safe and respected here.

Dear other guests .. this hotel put some facilities which are not available , like WIFI . Only at the lobby. The breakfast not included . Please be careful to check with them before you do reservation .

nothing it’s old place and not clean, I paid on booking. com for a room with balcony and Nile view I didn’t get it instead back room and very unpleasant; the place used to be in the late 70 ties 5 star but at the present time it should be rested 1 star hotel , it’s a place for business women very unpleasant to stay in this hotel and should be removed from booking.com as 4 star hotel its not even one star hotel , the hotel management falsifying the truth about the hotel, i don’t recommend any one to stay there; at the end I wasn’t credited the difference in the amount of money i paid for a room with balcony and Nile view, very bad experience, its the worst hotel I ever stayed in

The foyer etc was complete chaos with half ripped up carpet. I assume there was renovation but it was awful

My second stay at Om Kolthoom, and even better than the first. All the staff are lovely and so helpful with everything. There's also an amazing rooftop pool area now open in the summer plus a fully equipped gym and a Finnish and Turkish sauna. This with the location right in Zamalek (5 - 10 min walk away from a whole host of great restaurants and 10 min drive from downtown if you're travelling for business) makes Om Kolthoom probably the best value you can find anywhere in the area. I'll be back again!

Nothing, I really enjoyed my stay!

Fabelouse location, and that music of Omu Kulthum that plays back around all the time wow.I though my booking was including the breakfast yet the receptionist said it was not, anyway I had a great perfect breakfast exactly right next to the hotel! the location was perfect!I loved it as well as the staff wow were very polite and class they don’t talk too much yet they are very welcoming and warm.

The old towels! & lack of cleanliness as well as the lack of facilities in the room (hair dryer, slipper, iron & water). the towels were so old and so much used almost black!! or gray! also the bed sheets were so much old and consumed. as well as the bath it was very dirty and old there was more hair inside the bath tub, dirty miror, yet they were nice nough to clean it.

the room is terrible, the floor is bad, the network is week, there is no Wi-Fi, there are no water bottles in the room, iron set is not available … there is a bed-only room without breakfast or any service, and even the air conditioning in the hotel doesn't function... The absolute worst hotel I've ever been in Please be aware that the information that is posted on booking.com is inaccurate. To put it another way, the hotel does not have air conditioning. This is what the receptionist explained to me, and he also offered me a room that did not have air conditioning to remain in without any services, including the fact that there was no wifi connectivity.
