We had a lovely 3 days staying in Topcroft cottage. All bedrooms are great sizes and having the 2 en-suites was very helpful as we were travelling as 2 families of 4. There is plenty of space for 8 people, the wood burner kept us cosy as the weather wasn’t as warm as we had hoped! Phillipa was so kind and dropped in a freshly baked cake and bread when we arrived, these went down a storm with all. The cottage is in Hathersage and attached to the village pharmacy. Parking is adequate for 2 cars and dogs are very welcome. It’s a great base for exploring the Peak District.

The property was in an excellent position, well equipped and very clean. Communication with the owner was excellent when we did encounter a problem with the shower which was quickly solved. The outside patio area could do with a little maintenance to improve the overall experience as we spent a lot of time sitting and eating outside in beautiful weather and surroundings. We felt that the provision for recycling also needed improving but otherwise the whole experience was excellent

Lovely cottage. The wood burning stove was much appreciated by all including our black Labrador! The central heating was very efficient once we’d found the boiler controls (in one of the twin rooms) Host checked in to make sure we had everything we needed but wasn’t at all intrusive. Beds very comfortable ! Can recommend the Scotsman’s Pack inn who (with some advance notice) catered for 42 of us for the Birthday meal !

We had a very enjoyable stay at Topcroft Cottage, which was spacious, comfy and had all amenities necessary. Highly recommended.

A wonderful place to spend time with good friends. Plenty of space, comfortable and a great dining space. Everytbing you need for a comfortable stay. Plenty of places to eat and drink in the village too. Everything clean and warm with great showers too. Well worth staying here.

A lovely house, good location. Very welcoming would go back again

The house is very spacious and well equipped. We had dogs with us and the garden was secure and a great size for them to run around. The house is on a main road so the front bedrooms can be a little noisy, however we were all so tired from the excellent walking it didn’t really matter!

We had an amazing time here, plenty to do in the area and the house was perfect for all of us to make family memories 3 generations for the first time Thank you so much, we will be back

Superb property in the bustling picturesque village of Hathersage! Great location for visiting and walking around Hathersage, Hope Valley, Bakewell and Castleton. Would thoroughly recommend a stay here!

Everything was perfect. The back garden was great for the kids (7 & 10) to run around, plus nice patio set for the grown-ups to relax and watch. There was plenty of room for us all. The living room had lots of chairs,etc. We had a great visit to Hathersage.

This spacious home was perfect for our family gatherings. Even though only 5 to 7 people stayed here on different nights, the home was perfect for all our relatives from Sheffield and Huddersfield. Nine adults and two toddlers were able to sit around the main dining room table. The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans and various kitchen gadgets. There are also manuals available for everything in the kitchen. A highchair and toys made it easier for the little ones. They also enjoyed playing in the large back garden. A delicious lemon bread and a loaf of freshly baked bread in the kitchen made our arrival even more enjoyable. Pip, the owner, was very responsive to any questions. Hathersage is a lovely town with friendly people. The next time we come to the area, we would choose to stay here again!

Great few days with friends in a super Derbyshire village

The house and garden are really great - ideal for small children. Lots of toys and games provided in the house. Hathersage is an idyllic village - especially outdoor swimming pool, but lots of places to eat and fine short walks. Only drawback is supermarket shopping is limited - fantastic fruit and veg and butcher's shop however.

Lovely house in a great location. We enjoyed walking in the hills and a great birthday meal at the Plough.

We stayed at Topcroft Cottage for 3 nights as a family of 8 adults with 2 dogs. The cottage was wonderful and clean and was large enough that you didn’t feel like you were living on top of each other. The location is ideal to walk to all local pubs/restaurants and shops and the parking spaces were ideal too. The cottage itself was really clean and had all the amenities that you needed. The garden was huge too and it meant the dogs had plenty of space to run around. The lemon drizzle and fresh bread was such a welcoming touch too. Thank you for a wonderful stay

We had a wonderful break! A great property in a great location with lots of lovely little touches.

Just what the doctor ordered. A beautiful and very well appointed house in a fantastic location in the village. Everything we needed and much more besides. Comfortable beds and plenty of bathrooms with a really lovely and comfortable sitting room upstairs. Great venue for larger groups - we were 4 friends who all like our own space and facilities and this house delivered. Thank you to the host who also allowed an earlier check in for our international travellers. Much appreciated.

Lovely property good location for exploring Peak District. Pubs and restaurants nearby are all good. Spacious property although some traffic noise. Would certainly visit again as had lovely family get together.

Great house, plenty of room with a log fire. Great outside area and plenty of space. House has plenty of character including squeaky floor boards. On the main road so has some road noise.

Thanks so much to Pip for her excellent service, and what a lovely house! We had a fantastic pre-Christmas weekend. We know the area well, there are great walks, Chatsworth and its excellent farm shop and cafe 20 mins away, nice pubs, a lively little town, and swims at the lovely heated outdoor pool in Hathersage. All from a fab, warm and cosy house with parking for 2 cars. We will be back

Topcroft Holiday Cottage was perfect for our vacation in Hathersage in every way. The location is excellent & the cottage very comfortable & well equipped. It met all the needs of ourselves & extended family & friends. The garden was especially popular with the grandchildren. Excellent recommendation.

The house catered well for 8 people. We had a great time and would certainly think about returning.

This house worked perfectly for two families to stay. The kids loved the large back garden. We look forward to staying again.

I do not want to praise this to highly as i would love to keep it for myself. What a lovely place to stay it is well equipped ( except the small drippy teapot) and so close to many beautiful places. The children loved the garden. None of us wanted to leave this morning. We will be back.

Super property, lovely garden at the back. Traffic was a worry, crossing the road, and noisy lorries, but the lovely property made up for that. Loved the outdoor pool, and days out at Castleton and Chatsworth, and a lovely stepping stones walk. We all agreed we would go again.
