The staff were excellent
Only personal preference would be to have duck feather pillows not polyester.

Joana & João & Rui and the rest of the staff were brilliant. Very homely feel. The decor was lovely and appreciated. Very clean and tidy. Joana & João were helpful and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our stay very much. Oh! the port was very nice too :). Furthermore João's organized trip to Sintra was excellent and the restaurant AguaeSal was exceptional!!
Nothing to report.

Amazing property with so many nice touches…. Cake and coffee in the afternoon was especially nice!
Joao was so helpful organising our day trips and lots of information on the local area. Joana most helpful as well.
Loved our stay and hope to get back there some day.

Beautiful stylish hotel
in a great location with a lovely little oasis garden where breakfast was served. Our room was small (we chose that), comfortable and cleaned every day. There were
some nice extra touches including complimentary coffee, cakes and local port available. We would definitely stay again.

Everything about our stay was perfect. Our greeting upon arrival from Joao was wonderful he explained and gave us a tour of the hotel. He introduced us to Angela the lady that took care of all the wonderful breakfasts and delicious sweet treats that were available throughout the afternoon. Breakfast on the patio every morning was a wonderful way to start the day. Our room was just perfect the size was great and the bathroom was just beautiful as well as the view. We were on the fifth floor. Housekeeping was terrific. Also, Joana was wonderful in helping us with an issue we had too. Would highly recommend this hotel great location and the staff is amazing!! Thanks again Joao for your kindness!!! Linda
We were happy with everything. The new renovations are just beautiful.

Central but very peaceful location, excellent breakfast, lovely pool, lush, green, peaceful, secluded garden, beautiful lounge areas and bedroom, the most comfortable bed, friendly, welcoming and helpful staff who made us feel at home the moment we arrived.

Overall the hotel is beautifully and tastefully decorated.
Would love to go back!

The property is beautiful and breakfast was amazing 😍.
Smoking hotel. It is allowed to smoke on the patio, and it was pretty smelly.
4.8
Location is perfect, close to many attractions, restaurants, bars. The staff and the hosts were great and very helpful. Breakfast was nice in the beautiful garden. The property its beautiful.
Our room was very small, with a very small bathroom. There’s no space if you have big luggages. The floors are squeaky

The location was perfect, exactly where we wanted to be, walking distance to everything. The staff were so nice, and the room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was nice, the ability to have a brownie and a glass of port in the afternoon was nice, and the honor bar was convenient (I never utilized it, but had I wanted a bottle of wine or a bottle of water I could just take one and write my room number down). I would 100% stay here again if I came back to Lisbon.
I liked everything. The only minor issue would be the lack of an elevator, but they have one they just installed that is just awaiting an inspection. It really wasn't a big deal though, and it seems like the elevator will be up and running soon.

I enjoyed my stay at Casa do Barao very much. The property was beautiful. Staff was very attentive and personable. The location was great, right in the center of everything.

Exceptional. Peaceful oasis in the centre of Chiado.

The building was exquisite with great attention to detail in the interior design. The staff went over and above to be courteous, helpful and incredibly polite. The location was a fantastic! An excellent & beautiful breakfast every morning. I have traveled over 65 countries and this has been one of my most favorite stops!

very good location
the beautiful interior design of the property
lovely garden
we had a home feeling throughout our stay at the property.
very nice touch with having access to coffee, water, and other treats in the afternoon.
very nice and helpful staff
having bathrobes, slippers, and a mini fridge in the room would be needed.
4.8
we were upgraded ( after very poor shower pressure) and the new room was brand new with great shower pressure and big balcony.
The shower did not have hot water and only a dribble of water.

The breakfast was perfect and so nice to have in the garden. Sara was very friendly and helpful. She gave us great advice on where to spend our first day and where to have dinner. The casa was very clean and comfortable.
Walking up the hill everyday to return to the hotel was a bit tiresome, but it was advertised and we knew to expect it. It really wasn't too bad.
4.8
location, helpful staff, charming old but renovated house with character, great service, nice garden behind the house
a little noisy street, breakfast pretty good, but boring- no variety
4.8
The location, the house, the patio and the attention was very nice. I wish I had stayed longer.
The hair dryer could be more professional, it barely dries.

This is one of the most enjoyable stays I have ever had, the Casa do Barao is one of the best places I have stayed (and I stay in hotels/apartments very frequently.) Give it a go, it's truly exceptional.
Beautifully and very classily decorated. Great vibe and atmosphere. The staff were incredibly helpful (e.g. helping me store a bike and repair a broken bag), the breakfast was first class. We stayed at the start of September and the small pool was a lovely way to cool down.
The location is exceptional too, quiet street in the heart of the old town. We went a 4 minute walk to the restaurant Suba, which had incredible views and food. Lisbon is a bit like San Francisco and you really make the most of it here.
Booking.com won't let me upload the photos but the view from our window was very nice too.
4.8
Great breakfast, perfect location (close to everything). The room was extremely spacious. I was very happy with my stay!

The hotel is absolutely perfect and in the heart of Lisbon. It has the perfect location and you can literally do everything walking. It is 5 minutes to Bairro Alto, 10 minutes walking to Cais do Sodré and the time out market and Rossio. It has tons of restaurants and bars nearby.
The hotel has a lovely garden with a small swimming pool which gets sunshine the whole afternoon, the garden is very green with a relaxing vibe, perfect if you want to have a relaxing day by the pool drinking some wine.
The breakfast is beautifully prepared and everything is home made. Very tasty cakes with a gorgeous home made pumpkin jam. Hands up for the lady who makes the breakfast and welcomed us every morning with the biggest smile in Lisbon (she was wearing face mask, but you could tell she was smiling by the eyes expression). We were so blessed with the weather, so we were having breakfast everyday in the garden.
The room was super comfortable, well cleaned and with more than enough space.
They also have a small library where you can chill in the evening before going for dinner or after you gone for dinner.
I can’t find any faults on this hotel, everything is so beautiful at the hotel, you can see that Sara & Rui really thought through every little details, they are so warm and welcoming, it makes a big difference when you have welcoming hosts like them, well done to you both.

Location cannot be better. Sara helped us for everything. All the staff were polite and professional. The building has a style and history.
The breakfast could be better.
4.8
The location, the garden! Beautiful . the decoration, the breakfast and the little touches for cakes, porto wine, comfortable beds. It has a great personal touch. Sara was also super nice and friendly
The bathroom setting was weird with the sink outside, the lighting, when we were there Lisbon was in locked down ( covid) and they didn’t provide us with information where we could get food ( as there is no restaurant in the hotel) . If i had been the owner i would have informed guests of restaurants to order food so they knew what to do. We were fine but some people we met there didn’t know how to use uber eats etc
