The towels were new, but sheets need replacing (also mentioned in a note left by a former renter). The downstairs bed needs to be fixed and it would have been nice to have more supplies for 5 people.

Unit needs a redo. Not very comfortable couch/living room chairs, old appliances, dirty baseboards. Sheets with pills on them. Old, stained toilet seats. Old kitchen and beach towels. Ceiling fans had caked on dust. Could be a really nice place but needs some work.

Do NOT rent from this management company! We came to Turtle Bay for our daughter’s wedding. We rented 5 condos, only this one was from this management company. The unit was not clean. Had pee on the tile behind and on base of the master toilet. The unit had a urine smell. The toaster did not work and some lamps didn’t work (management took care of the toaster and the lamps, nothing else). Management acknowledged the urine issue but did nothing to fix or clean it. They charged us a fee for use of a pack n play. There were no beach toys or chairs. There is no A/C which is fine but the fans were covered in a sticky dust. The beds were springy and sagged in the middle. The bedding was old and dingy. The couch, which seats 3 uncomfortably is old and hard, same with the kitchen table. The water did not get hot in the showers. I asked to be switched to another unit. There were other units available but they refused to move us. All of the other units we rented had a pack n play, high chair, beach toys, chairs, umbrellas, mats. They all had nice beds, bedding, updated comfortable furniture. We left 2 days early and paid for a hotel room rather than stay any longer on those beds. We also paid more for this unit than for any of the others. They charged an exorbitant service fee (more than twice the other units) which covered nothing. I asked what it covered and they didn’t respond. I’m not sure why every review doesn’t say the same thing. We were highly disappointed.

Kuilima estates definitely provided a beautiful much needed relaxation. Our family loved the proximity to all the local beaches, the safety of turtle bay is a factor that helped us choose kuilima and we LOVED it. The suite is well taken care of with a few things that could use some tweaking. The beds were absurdly uncomfortable. Pilly sheets made it even worse (just throw them out). If management could pay attention to the little things the stay could be even better. Squeaky ceiling fan and Screaming dryer. Loved our stay would be happy to return to the area.

But things need repair like new screens, coat of paint on the fridge doors due to rust, small touch ups on the walls. The biggest issue is the window in the upstairs master. It is right above the window that doesnt close all the way, a d the screen isntthe right size for the window, so the ac below it is blowing cold air that goes out the window that cant close, plus the critters that can come in because of the inch gap around the screen.

No grab bars in first floor bathroom and stairs to 2nd floor are quite treacherous for elderly. The only other thing to make this a perfect stay would be new dishes, currently just a few mismatched plastic and ceramic plates, need a place setting for party of six since the rental site states 6 people max.

The downstairs shower water pressure was too forceful and the the shower curtain too short, so water would go out onto the floor. The other problem was very annoying and caused us to not be able to sleep well and that was the mosquitos coming into the unit at night. I don't know where they were coming from, but they were getting inside and eating everyone!

Shower curtains didn't keep water from spraying out and downstairs shower head water pressure is too strong. Stairs also need to be more secure. Kitchen is fine, pool was a hit.

The sleeping area in the loft got quite warm and the ceiling fan clanked loudly. No way to adjust the speed on it. Had to use a different portable fan for any relief. Using the clothes dryer vents the exhaust air up onto the loft area, which made the discomfort worse. Otherwise stay was quite satisfactory.

Reviewer Comments: We originally booked the apartment, Wicked Wahine, as it had good reviews ,twin beds in one of the bedrooms which we needed, and it appeared to have been updated compared to some of the other units. Without asking, our booking was changed to another apartment 112W. On arrival the unit was extremely hot and despite opening all the windows it remained so late into the evening. Because this unit did not have twin beds, we had to use the upstairs loft which remained over 28 degrees Celsius, which was too hot to comfortably sleep. We turned on the old air conditioners which are very ineffective at cooling the bedrooms and very good at emitting foul mouldy air. We stopped using them after my family started to suffer from the side effects of breathing in mould ie runny itchy nose and eyes. This was aggravated by the very dusty condition of this unit. It needs a good spring clean. The maintenance on this property is not being done. The wooden cap on the top of the stair rail is loose and comes away if you use it for balance, the front doors are difficult to lock securely and the kitchen stove is dangerous with the elements on a slope. The stairs are split and have been screwed together but you can feel them moving under your feet. So for the exorbitant fee we paid to stay here, my family was very disappointed and felt completely ripped off. This unit would have been lovely to stay at years ago, but it is now run down and not fit for paying guests.

The condo was clean and the lanai was great. It was supplied with enough essentials for the 6 of us...toilet paper, dish soap, etc. There are 2 A//C units in the 2 bedrooms which don’t cool the entire condo down should the trade winds die down, which fortunately only affected us for a couple times. We felt the condo was exactly like described. Couch isn’t very comfortable but it served its purpose.

Everything was just as described. The A/C is loud in the bedrooms but we left the doors and windows open to catch the trade winds. Only 2 days the trade winds shifted.

It needs a coat of paint and touch ups. Only one piece of seating furniture, so not comfortable for visiting in the living room area. The light switches were hard to figure out, and some need some TLC. For the price, the accommodation should be cared for more. No perks from the Hotel itself, for staying at these estates. The unit could use some updating. The floors especially. The showers were clean and beds comfortable. However the bedskirts on the twin beds upstairs were extremely stained. We removed and washed and stains remained so those could use replacing. There are not enough general necessities in the kitchen and could use some more general kitchen pans, and utensils.

But in this day and time and with the humidity heat index, why OH WHY is there no central air? We stayed upstairs in the loft and about roasted at night, 3 fans going at once. We loved the condo but will not stay at the turtle bay Resort again with out AIR!
