Perfect for what we wanted

The pictures say it all. A spacious room with a spectacular view in a very quiet and peaceful area. The kitchen has everything you need. The loft was no problem for us. Only the WiFi was not so strong.

We loved our stay at Jim and Jan’s. The view from the deck and living room was fantastic! We could see both the Nubble Light and Boon Island light. The sights and sounds of the gentle rolling waves was so soothing. The house was very clean, which is greatly appreciated. The beds and furniture were all very comfortable. The kitchen was great for preparing meals. We were able to keep the place cool with the fans provided (we also brought two of our own). Our hosts were kind and accommodating. We are very thankful for our fabulous stay. And we loved York Beach. My husband’s family has been coming here for four generations. It is a quaint family friendly town with lovely beaches.

I had a wonderful vacation here. Jan brought me a bouquet of flowers when I arrived and Jim came right over when I had a question about the tv. The view is amazing and I spent many hours reading on the deck listening to the ocean. Everything was provided for, all you needed was your clothes and a toothbrush. I can't wait to come back next summer.

after moving to the west coast 17 years ago it was wonderful for my family to experience all things New England that I grew up with. And we couldn’t have had a better experience and the location is spectacular! The view of the ocean, waking up to the sound of birds chirping, the ocean waves and just the overall joy our children experienced has us longing to come back…we certainly will be returning… thank you James and Jan!

Our stay was spectacular and everything we could hope for! The property was accurate to the listing and the views were amazing. Even though it was foggy most of our stay, you were able to get glimpses of the Nubble Lighthouse. The beach is a 5 minute drive and you can explore York with everything within 20 minutes of the house. Although you were attached to the main house, we had plenty of privacy! We will definityly stay again!

The ocean view is spectacular! We sat inside and on the deck, both with great views. Jan greeted us when we arrived. I would suggest people who come the first time to make a call and make sure how to find the house (It is easy to find once we know that is the house. We just did not know Roaring Rock Point Rd is easy to miss). Appliances are new. Matrice is great (high quality). It is very quiet. Actually, we slept much better in the unit than at home. There are many good things to do. A beach is only 4 minutes away. Funny thing is: York Harbor is hidden at the end of a very small walk. Also, a very interesting walk: cliff walk, that is also hidden behind the Park Garden. we will definitely try to come back.

The ocean view from the walk-out living room was spectacular. Sunrise's were awesome. Very cozy living space with everything you need...

My husband and I loved this apartment because it was supremely peaceful. The view can't be beat, and though not a fancy place, it had everything we needed. Living room furniture was very comfortable, which is not always the case in places we've rented. This was really important because sitting on the couch looking at the ocean was just what we needed. Will definitely return.

Everything we hoped for and more! The ocean is always in view! Centrally located- short drive or a couple mile walk to long and short sands beach. In the other direction, about a 20 min walk to Harbor View Beach and the shaded park just above. Although it’s not on the beach it doesn’t feel like you’re missing out because the ocean view is right at your door! Full kitchen with everything you need. Really homey and comfortable. We’ll be back!

Beautiful view. Cottage was well equipped for our stay. Clean and felt welcome from owners. Lack of air conditioning had to be the most difficult on 2-3 days of hot weather.

The location of this rental property couldn't be better. The ever-changing views of the ocean and sky from the living room and deck are wonderful. We also enjoyed the peace and quiet--the only sounds are the waves and the birds singing. We will be back!

My partner and I stayed during June 2022. The property was just as described, only the view was even more idyllic than I could have imagined. My partner and I are both writers, and there was much to inspire from the deck. The accommodation was clean and surprisingly roomy. We had our son and his girlfriend stay for one night - she's expecting so we used the loft area ourselves. We're in our 50s and had no trouble with it, and it would be a fun place to sleep for young children. The location was nice and private, yet the beach was only a short drive or a good stretch of the legs away. It's an awesome spot to explore the best of Southern Maine. Very highly recommended and excellent value for money. We're already thinking about our next stay. Thank you to our hosts. J & P.

The place was delightful! Comfortable to the point of feeling like your home. The ocean view was stunning with sunrises in the morning and moonlit nights. The hosts were really helpful and we especially loved the welcoming committee!

Our stay was comfortable and we enjoyed the ocean view a great deal. We did not lack for anything as place was well equipped for our needs.

Expectations exceeded! The view was incredible and we spent hours each day just taking in the ocean in its ever-changing beauty. Also enjoyed visiting nearby towns: Kennebunkport, Ogunquit, Gloucester and Rockport, Mass., but always came "home" thinking York was the best village for us!

We had a great time. The view was fantastic, what a view!! The room was clean and well appointed. Long beach is just a quick 5 min drive. Can’t wait to come back.

We had a lovely stay in this cozy and comfortable apartment. The location was great and we were in awe of how close we were to the ocean. The check-in and check-out process was incredibly easy, and it was convenient to have our own entrance as well.

The apartment was spotless and cozy, with Netflix and a really good shower. Although it was wintery and cold outside, we enjoyed the wind and water show through the large picture window in the living room. There are some great walks nearby too: The Cliff Walk and Fisherman's Walk in York Harbor, and the Marginal Way in Ogunquit.

This is going to be our favorite vacation spot. Perfect place from beaches, towns, shopping, hiking and nature.

It is a wonderful vacation house, Everything you need is in the kitchen or or in a side table. The view is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately the 1 and only thing we wish was available would be a/c. The fans they provide worked well but air conditioning would be fantastic. In all it is an awesome place to stay and the owners were very polite and welcoming. Even their one pup "pip".

Location and ocean view are terrific. Loft is meant for youngsters, as stated. Lack of AC made our week-long heat wave uncomfortable in spite of multiple fans. Pleasant, helpful owners.

The location was convenient and the view was very nice. The interior was nice although the bathroom was a little small. Only two issues arose during our stay. The first issue was a cockroach infestation. On our third evening we observed them literally coming out of the woodwork—they were on the ceilings, walls, dining room table, and in every room of the apartment. It isn’t too relaxing to be making a sandwich in the kitchen and have a roach scurry past on the counter. The second issue was the deplorable response by the owner. We left several messages/voicemails notifying him about the roaches. They were returned hours later with the comment that “roaches are part of nature” and the insinuation that we brought them into the house with us. He then hung up on us. When we talked to him in the morning and showed him numerous dead roaches, he commented that roaches don’t live in Maine (fact check that for yourself) and that they wouldn’t eat all of our food. He eventually offered to get an exterminator into the unit as soon as possible, but we decided to stay elsewhere. The owner refused to refund the days we did not stay. Owner did not or would not answer multiple emails. Stay at a Super 8, the staff would be much more considerate and knowledgeable.

Everything was true as advertised, and the view is grander than it seems in photos; it is a great little place. And the owners are just as great: responsive (not that I needed anything fixed) to questions I had, and very respectful of privacy; kind and gentle. I will surely return.

We had a wonderful time in York! The house was so nice, It was very roomy, clean, had very comfortable furniture and a full view of the ocean. Jan, the owner, was very nice and offered to help us with anything we needed. It was hot for four days but the 4 fans helped and there was always a breeze from the ocean. We recommend this home!

Wonderful location. Loved the view from the living room/balcony. First couple of days, sea was quite rough and we could understand where the street gets its name from. Last day, we enjoyed a gorgeous sunrise. But in general, it was so peaceful to rest and enjoy the view ans sound of the ocean. The apartment is very clean and well equipped. I definitely recommend.

Great location, awesome ocean view, quiet neighborhood. Easy driving distance to York, Kittery Ogunquit and Kennebunkport. Listing pictures did not due justice to the view. Easy walking distance to York and Long Beaches.

The owners were friendly, the location was quiet with a great view. I enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the tide change in the cove. It was convenient to beaches, shopping, and dining. The owner left a lovely bouquet of flowers and checked in to see how things were going. I would love to return!
