Soundproof is absent, wooden doors and loud corridor let you hear all the sounds outside your room. Room has only 2 sockets, which are already taken by fridge and TV.

The sockets in room 101 are behind the beds so you have to move the beds to charge your phone.

Breakfast was great, the location was good.

We stayed in "Maisonette Suite" which is a complete misrepresentation! "Suite" implies roomy living areas and freely accessible bedroom! It was more like a cubby house or a tree house. Here are some facts and photos as a picture speaks a thousand words. All the rooms are on the "First floor" however the best description is that they all are in the attic space! Sloping roof windows are too high to see the road below. Tiny room contained a two seater settee (with stains all over the seat and back), a small square table and a desk too high to work on. Carpet was filthy and cigarette burn marks at many places. We had to be careful at the outer wall as it was following the roof's angle, so wasted floor space. The bedroom was on upper floor accessible by narrow timber staircase with shaped rungs and anti-slip stickers. So, it was predetermined which leg you start with. Coming down the best way was to come do down backwards. To use the stairs at night there is a light which also annoys the other person sleeping until then. No need to say that one had to be fully awake to safely negotiate the stairs. As for the view? roof windows do give you great view of the sky, but forget the castle! The booking.com description states "Landmark view.... another miss-representation! ..see photos.

The property has obviously been upgraded. Gorgeous hotel for any length of stay. Rooms amazing, great location, parking onsite. Hope they can recover and stay open once travel increases. Would definitely stay here again.

the maisonette suite is a cool concept but the stairs up to the bed could be quite dangerous, especially not recommending for older people

Hotel Palatin is a very nice hotel just oposite of Orava castle. View was great, food was awesome - big portions and freshly prepared. Only problem was that during limited lockdown restaurant closed at 6.00pm and after this hour there was not much to do.

I would appreciate a kettle and coffee/tea making possibilities in the room. Otherwise everything was very nice.

I stayed there two nights and everything is perfect. Good location, very close to the Ovara Castle. Nice staff, I asked her many questions about the bus and she was so friendly. Good meal, I have tried the salad with goat cheese and halusky, and I must say I love them!

Accommodation is in a great location with parking and a room that is really nice, spacious and also offers a nice view.

Breakfast was a big problem. The gentleman who took care of serving breakfast had another job (food delivery in the village) and so when we arrived for breakfast he sent us away (he didne really care, and was quite rude) with the message that we have the opportunity to have a dry package or come for breakfast after 10:00. It happened all 3 days. An unpleasant experience, undersized staff. It's a shame, because the hotel is really great.
