This is our fourth time at Kona Pacific and our second consecutive stay at Ed & Karen’s condo. Everything from booking, confirmation, check-in, cleanliness, location, and view was excellent! We take advantage of the local restaurants and live music and with everything within walking distance allows us to leave the car behind. And also being beach people, the beach supplies (beach chairs, cooler, towels, etc.) exceeded our expectations again. We look forward to booking this condo again for our next visit to fabulous Kona!...Keith & Drina J.

Nicely furnished and equipped, nice view and great lanai. Vertical blinds in living room still not working. Saw that comment in a previous review. I guess the owners don't think it is important, but without them the sun will shine right on you in early morning, not good if you want to sleep in on the sofa bed.

The view from the lanai is truly spectacular. However the condo itself could use a few repairs. The sticky screen door to the lanai was annoying, as was the fact that the blinds don't work and figuring out how to turn on lights, fans etc was not always straightforward. Be advised that although room dividers are available, the distance between the bedroom and the living room hide-a-bed is very short. So sleeping quarters are in close proximity, which may not work well for everyone when sharing accommodations.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The check-in process was very smooth, it was easy to find the property and the parking space in the garage with the easy-to-follow instructions that were shared with us. The condo itself was very very clean and exactly what we expected from the pictures. The location is perfect. It is easy walking distance to the main boardwalk area in downtown Kona and we enjoyed walking to get breakfast and coffee every morning at our "usual" spots. The views from the lanai were stunning! The only disappointing part of the stay is that the pool was closed for repairs for our entire stay (which was one of the deciding factors in booking this place) - all was well though since we packed our days pretty full and did not have much free time that we would have been able to spend there anyway! The hosts left lots of thoughtful and helpful things for us - there was a laundry kit so we could do a few loads of laundry without needing to run out to the store to get detergent, etc. They left coffee for us too! The bed was VERY comfortable and I very much appreciated that they left multiple pillows for us to use (I am a multiple pillow sleeper myself). The AC unit in the bedroom was more than sufficient to keep us cool at night, especially with the dividers up between the rooms to keep the cool air in. Can't say enough good things about the property, would highly recommend staying here! I would definitely stay here again.

This was a wonderful property. It was well appointed and very comfortable for 2 of us. We loved the views from the lanai...enjoyed our morning coffee there as well as watching gorgeous sunsets. It is within walking distance of downtown Kona, (but not really within walking distance of a beach, which wasn't a problem for us). We would definitely stay here again!

This property in Kailua-Kona has everything that we needed for a perfect location. This is our second time staying in the unit because we liked it so much the first time. It is walking distance to town and the lanai is very large with a partial ocean view. We will definitely come back again.

This was an amazing place to stay! It was walking distance to restaurants, and easy to get around. I really loved the thoughtful touches that helped us get the most out of Kona! There were beach chairs, boogie boards, a cooler, and a well-stocked kitchen. There is an air conditioning unit in the bedroom, but the main room could get toasty. We were out most of the day, so didn't bother us. Pro Tip: if you use the room dividers, it really helps keep the air conditioning when you're sleeping.

Nice apartment with a great view of the ocean. Lots of dining within a short walk. There are some small beaches nearby, but the nicer ones are a good distance away.

The condo is very well decorated and very comfortable. The view from the lanai is beautiful. A short walk to downtown Kona and all the town has to offer.

Stay was very good. Condo is easy to get to from the Kona airport and walking to the old downtown area is short with sidewalks for paths similar to bike paths for pedestrians. Convenient for food options-mostly comfortable and clean open-air bar and grill type locations and some ethnic options. Close to the farmers market but the one further down Ali'i street is better. Not a walking distance. Condo is well appointed for cooking all meals and the appliances are nice and clean. Large countertop for meal prep and bar seating with good lighting. Ceiling fans throughout help with temperature control and the bedroom AC and floor fan do a good job of keeping that area cool overnight. Bathrooms are clean and comfortably sized but the exhaust fans would be good to remove steam. Lots of towels, etc. and easy to find the provided supplies. Nice hanging space and dresser to unpack. Main living is pretty and comfortable but as others have stated, the blinds don't work. We didn't find a problem with this because the side that is closed only looks the side of the building and the main area by the door, no one can see in anyway. The 4 star cleanliness isn't a negative. I just noticed things I'd clean that most people wouldn't. Karen and Ed were very easy to work with and quickly let us know we'd inadvertently received a complaint from the management for throwing water off the lanai. Total mistake on our part but they were understanding. We would absolutely use the condo again.

We absolutely loved staying at Barbara and Ed’s condo in Kona. It was the perfect launching point for my wife, infant h hvdaughter, and I to explore the island for the week we visited. The condo itself was perfect! Clean, well stocked, a very comfortable bed, and an amazing deck for watching the ocean and sunsets. Barbara was super quick with replies and proactive at getting a pack and play and high chair set up, as well! We’d love to stay again one day and would definitely recommend it to our friends and family.

This beautiful condo served as our home base for all of our big island adventures. Modern, clean, and having a beautiful view it was perfectly located in Kona within walking distance of great dining.

Easy check in. Condo was clean. King size bed a nice upgrade from our last stay 5 yrs ago. The lanai is the best - great views, cool breezes. Spent most of our time outside.

The property is very well stocked. The lanai is amazing. We ate most of our meals out there. The complex as a whole is very quiet. Karen is wonderful to work with. She was super prompt responding to my questions. Would highly recommend this unit.

We enjoyed our stay in Kailua Kona (2nd stay at Kona Pacific; first in this condo). Host was great with communication and quick with responses, as needed. Overall the property was as expected, with a few flaws that would likely lead us to book elsewhere/a different unit next time we come to Big Island. The great: View from the lanai is terrific; sitting out on the lanai for breakfast and at night was the best part Location is great for being a short walk to everything Full kitchen with all cookware, utensils, etc Two bathrooms is always a plus Covered parking (yes, the garage is small/tight, but great to have; use the remote for the east gate for easier access in/out!) Check-in was easy and communication was always timely The not-so-great: Condo needs a little TLC (you can tell it's 100% a rental property) A/C unit in bedroom is loud and inefficient (tried multiple settings and various temps; the large floor fan in the bedroom is also a beast/does nothing to distribute air) Vertical blinds need to be replaced (none of them work/all the tracks are broken; blinds in the living room are zip-tied closed and cannot be used, meaning you can't block the sun in the afternoons, which is what's driving the majority of the heat into the condo) Mattress (spring) and pillows (no support) could use an upgrade (personal preference, but this plus the A/C unit cost us both sleep every night)

This was a spacious, well equipped and nicely furnished condo. The view was better than expected. Very comfortable and walking distance to so many popular bars and restaurants which is great not having to worry about parking!! Surprisingly quiet and secluded feeling on the 6th floor. Loved everything about this unit. Furnishings, supplies, etc were top notch. The wrap around balcony gave terrific views of the ocean and sunsets. Location was fabulous.

The cando is fully equipped ,beautiful view, great location, also was great to have beach equipment ( chairs, umbrella, towels …….) mahalo to the host for the coffee and macadamia nuts 😊 We will book it again.

We felt very at home in Ed’s and Barbara’s place. The bed was very comfortable, so were the recliners. We also enjoyed the big balcony and the views on to the ocean at breakfast time. Our communication with Ed and Barbara was easy and showed they are caring hosts. Thank you.

The location of this unit is excellent...truly spitting distance to downtown Ali'i Dr restaurants, shops and water front. The building is super quiet. The pool is really nice for a quick dip before/after day activities. Top floor corner unit with great views and nice breeze on the wrap around lanai. Perfect for breakfast and coffee in the morning. We got to watch the outrigger canoe race on the ocean from afar on the lanai one morning...pretty cool. The hosts welcomed us with coffee and chocolate covered macadamia nuts. Nice touch! The unit is well appointed; furnishings and appliances are gently used. Our only real issue was air flow control in the unit. The unit's bedroom doesn't have a door, so it doesn't close off for privacy nor to keep the AC contained in the bedroom. AC in Hawaii is a luxury of course. It was just particularly hot in Kona during our visit so that did damper our stay. It was a bit difficult to relax in the living room/kitchen as we could not get the overall unit cooled down very well. Otherwise, great stay!

This is our third time and we love this property. Karen and Ed do an excellent job taking care of this property and are very responsive. We love the location, the view, and the condo. We'll be back for a fourth time. Harry and Julie

We (family of 4 with 2 young children) had a fantastic stay in this lovely apartment. The location is great - very close to beaches and snorkeling points in Kona and with many restaurants within walking distance. The apartment is spacious, really well furnished with all the amenities one could possibly need. The condominium has a swimming pool with barbecue facilities as well. The hosts were super responsive and we had a smooth check-in, comfortable stay and a great overall experience. Mahalo!

We had a great time using this condo as our home base! The location was great - walkable to many shops and restaurants and easy access to main roads for driving to further points of interest. The breeze on the porch made it extremely comfortable. It’s a very private unit - there isn’t a traditional door between the bedroom and the living room but screens are provided for privacy. We didn’t feel a need to put them up because we couldn’t see any of the neighbors anyway! Kitchen was well stocked and the two full bathrooms meant two of us could get ready at the same time. Would definitely stay again!

We loved this property and had a wonderful time! We were surprised to see it wasn't a true 1 bedroom since there was no door between the bedroom and living room. There were some privacy panels, but it made it harder to enjoy our time after our toddler fell asleep in the living room. The AC unit cools the bedroom well but the kitchen and living room were quite warm. The location was great and a short walk to the town with shops and restaurants. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking gear so we were able to eat in a fair amount. The bed was comfortable and primary bathroom very nice. The owners provided a pack n play and high chair for our toddler which made our experience much easier. The Lanai was one of our favorite areas. The view was beautiful and you get nice breezes. We ate all our meals out there. We even saw fireworks from the Lanai on July 4th. Finally, the condo had a washer and dryer which came in handy to wash clothes part way through our trip. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would happily stay here again.
