We enjoyed the kayaking a lot. It was very fun, and people were given the opportunity to either kayak or be in a boat rowed by one of the locals. We were free to roam the area and venture into the caves. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and there were regular updates over the tanoy. One of the staff even offered to give us their own sunscreen lotion. They made sure our onward travel was sorted even though it wasn't booked through them. The room was beautiful and spacious, and despite all the parties happening on neighbouring boats docked close by, you could not hear anything due to well insulated windows. Slept like a baby!

Some of the announcements were only in Vietnamese, so we were not sure if we missed anything. There could be more activities for children to keep them occupied. More dairy and allergy alternatives during all meals would have improved the experience.

The top deck with comfortable sun lounge beds. Also our room had a little day bed that was cute. The staff were nice too.

it's a large boat and we booked then tried to cancel within 10 minutes and they wouldn't accommodate us despite the fact the reviews said the transfers were included and they weren't!! The rubbish floating in Ha Long Bay is truly depressing, so at least when staff are doing the briefing they should ask people not to throw rubbish overboard. Maybe a tax for tourists should be considered to deal with this....

It's the perfect experience to enjoy Halong Bay. The food is mostly delicious and a good variety. The room is comfy, the kayaking fun, the stuff super friendly. Highly recommended.

Had higher expectations for the dinner. Was not as good as lunch and brunch buffet. Could have been more traditional as well. The shower was always slightly flooded with water and the toilet made weird noise in between.

Squid fishing is offered as an activity (in December) but we’re told by one of the members of staff the squid season starts in April. Maybe offer fishing instead? Once you’re back at the port, the staff automatically switch to welcoming new customers and offer little help on transfer transfers back to Hanoi. The party line is ‘5 more minutes’ until the coach arrives (went on for 1 hour).

loved everything about the cruise.. from pickup, to the ship, the activities, the meals. the room was spacious, clean with a breathtaking balcony view. the staff incredible! the sun deck was amazing, with a 360 degree view..

Gorgeous rooms, beautiful boat, incredible views, wonderfully attentive, helpful, and friendly staff. Kayaking around Hang Sang cave was a lot of fun. Huy (David), and his team are SUCH great hospitality employees, constantly checking in, and were at our room in a moment's notice to address issues we had in the bathroom. Eric led the cave tour on Cat Ba island and we had a great time listening to him and his lighthearted sense of humor!

The majority of the boat had been booked out by a very very large group tour, all of whom had some level of familiarity with each other. Although the cruise did a great job of separating us from the group tour for dining, we were still together for excursions and the transfer to and from the boat. Those on the group tour were VERY friendly and by no means ill-intended, however at times were very noisy and lacking consideration (think loud chanting and singing on the tender transfers, constant whistleblowing, etc.). They would also frequently cause us to be 15-30+ minutes behind on a very tight, busy itinerary, and the cruise would not adjust the itinerary to reflect that, causing us to lose time on other activities (i.e. coming back to the boat nearly 30 minutes late after kayaking, thus resulting in just 15-30 minutes of swimming time in the Bay instead of expanding that opportunity to reflect the delay, or arriving to the boat far later than expected due to the tour group showing up late to the port despite the cruise only being 24 hours to begin with). Staff also didn't do much to discourage some of the more obvious noise issues, such as the constant blowing of whistles on the enclosed speedboat. This is a beautiful beautiful boat with amazing staff (I really believe it's one of the best cruise operators in Halong Bay), and has SO much potential to be a romantic, fantastic cruise, but unfortunately that wasn't totally the experience we received. The benefit to it was that we got near private dining experiences as there was only one other group not on the group tour on the boat, but when it came to what we were there for (enjoying, admiring, and exploring Halong Bay), it fell a bit short. It felt a lot like we ended up on a massive group tour that we didn't sign up to be on. If you're thinking about booking this cruise, just know that you *could* end up the same situation, or your could end up with a much more tranquil experience.

My experience at Indochine was 10/10. From the moment we arrived on the boat the crew was amazing and so were the accommodations! The food was also very delicious and the entire boat was very well planned out and there were always planned (optional) activities. I really recommend everyone to book this cruise and I regret not booking a second night.

Need more options for the vegetarians. Although the chefs tried their best by taking customized orders and even went ahead with preparing dinner for us apart from the buffet menu. We truly appreciate the effort.

The bad labelling on its food. I had already specifically updated prior to our stay upon inquiry that we can only eat Halal food where I provided the list of what can and cannot be consumed. However food at the breakfast buffet labelled “fried vegetables”, “fried tofu” and “salmon porridge” contained mince pork!

The boat was beautifully decorated and the room very nice. The food was plentiful and good.

The boat didn’t cruise around much. We had to take transfer boats to get to the kayak. This boat was crowded and hot with lots of rules- had to wear life jacket and sit. The kayaking was fun and very beautiful but time to explore was limited. Lots of loud Vietnamese families on the boat that affected the peace. Swimming was pathetic- just off the side of the ship with life jackets on in deep water- no exploring the pretty bays of beautiful Halong. If I went again I would skip the cruise and explore the area myself because I didn’t like all the rules and the crowds

Food was far below 5 stars quality. Dinner was worst than frozen food:-( steak was a bit chewy.

Friendly staff in the restaurant. Wonderful landscape! Kayaking was cool. Be aware that "2 days" is not true, as you check in at the pier at 12 and be back the next day 11 am (check out 9.30)

We booked a Suite, which was showed on the pictures with a (real) balcony and bedroom and living room. In reality it was just one room with a little extra room where you can open the window (so-called balcony). This isn't bad, but we booked just because of the pictures because we wanted a balcony. The manager didn't really care and just said: you booked the suite, you got the suite. And he said it was booking's fault, that they mix up pictures from the suite and the presidential suite, what I hardly believe... In the end they gave us 11% discount on the price, which was not satisfying for us
