This was the perfect location for exploring downtown Durango- shopping, restaurants and museums as well as walking the Animas River bike path and climbing the sky steps to Fort Lewis College. The downtown retreat was also great just to read and relax in the sunny kitchen or outdoor garden space. We would definitely book this spot again.

Super well appointed and fun loft in a great location. A free off-street parking space so you can park and walk to anywhere downtown. Bright and cheery with tons of windows to allow natural light. Heated concrete floors so even in winter you wan walk around barefoot. Onsite laundry and fully appointed kitchen. The owner, George, has really thought about any and everything you could ever need. George is also very responsive and is quick to answer any questions. Will stay here again for sure!

We loved our stay at this rustic, modern loft. Main Street is a block away, and we walked all over downtown. The loft is modern and clean! Very cute. Definitely a great place for a couple.

The unit is beautiful and well designed, however The WiFi was weak at best, there was no TV, no microwave, but PLENTY of elm bugs!! Those quick fixes could easily turn this rental into a 5 star space

If you appreciate design you are sure to enjoy this modern remake of a very cool old building. Many windows and great views! A very user friendly kitchen, the place is easy going and comfortable, and short walk to all Main Street offers. The host was easy to reach and gave me some good tips. Will look forward to staying here again.

Everything within walking distance, super location! George made us feel instantly welcome n this charming eclectic private home. We enjoyed relaxing in the courtyard and well-appointed kitchen. We would have loved to stay even longer. Will stay again!

This is a architecture dream. The layout of the one bedroom /loft is close to downtown Restaurants. The Vrbo is welcoming and open airy feel. The windows let all the natural light in. The kitchen is very well stocked as is the bathroom. When you open the windows you get a really nice breeze. Would highly recommend this place since it’s within walking distance to anything in downtown.

Awesome location, walking distance to anything you need. Great area to bike around. I recommend going up the hill to the college, great view with easy access. Loft was nice, clean, and had most essentials. Parking is tight, but if you and the renters in his other rental park in a good manor its not an issue. Just stay tight to the sides. A couple things i would add to this loft is a water filter for drinking water and a toilet paper holder in the bathroom. That is really the only things we felt were missing.

My husband and I stayed at George's for almost 3 weeks, and loved every minute of it! We walked everywhere: shops, restaurants, groceries, and the river path - no need to get in a car. The place itself is airy, light, comfortable, and modern. The outdoor space is great. The A/C is powerful and quiet (and a huge plus when it's hot). George is kind and quickly available/responsive. With any luck, we'll be back for another extended stay next year!

What can I say other than we loved this property! There is a park right across the street and we attended a free concert about 10 minutes after we arrived! We felt very at home and there was every amenity you can imagine. Even down to pencil and paper for family game night. Our grandson really enjoyed the art work in the living room. Large upper window in the bed room so we could fall asleep looking at the stars. Comfy bed. Early morning coffee surrounded by flowers and succulents in the spacious yard. Thanks for supplying the beans! You are a lifesaver. I could go on. Great location! We would definitely stay here again.

The stone house loft was beautiful. We loved the architecture and decorating style. Nice clean accommodations with everything we needed for the week. Quiet neighborhood with great concerts in the park that we could listen to on patio. We loved the outdoor space and being able to walk downtown and to the river. Highly recommend.

Fantastic place to stay

Perfect long weekend loft in downtown Duranago. Great for one or two people…super quiet, clean and walking distance to all of the hot spots in town. Excellent host and the place was clean and exactly as advertised.

We absolutely loved staying in Durango in this section of town and at this retreat in particular. The large windows on the 2nd floor gave us a wonderful view of all the activity taking place on the street below. We could see the Durango train go by two blocks away, restaurant workers preparing for the day, people walking and skateboarding to work. It was a lot of fun to stay in such an open floor plan with tall ceilings and windows everywhere. The kitchen was fabulous with all the utensils we needed to prepare meals on the gas stove. The driveway fits two cars side by side. Our neighbor had a small SUV and we had a Mustang and there was enough room for us to park next to each other. You wouldn't want a large vehicle. Galleries, supermarkets, gift shops and lots of restaurants are all in walking distance. It was a very quiet sanctuary in spite of activity taking place outside. We want to come back and we recommend this spot for anyone who wants to be in close proximity of Durango's main street. We loved that there was no TV and we didn't miss having a microwave either. WiFi was great. The host was responsive to our inquiries and was super helpful in helping us move our plans around so we could head to Taos after our visit to Durango. He was wonderful and we felt so welcome. Can't wait to visit again and stay here.
