Really enjoyed our 5 night stay here with our baby and 3yo. The accommodation was like a little house perched atop a vinyard (units 10 and 11 in brilliant locations with views). If you're looking for a relaxing get-away this is the place. There are so so many things you do around Matakana especially if you're into food, wine, art, beaches, walks and hikes. Plus the Saturday market was brilliant - and we bought lots of the foods and goodies on offer.

Not necessarily a bad thing, more just a comment, note that the 2 x single beds are located in an outhouse which caused us a bit of a headache for the 3yo (we found a solution in the end) but would totally be great for teenagers! (Noted that there are house layouts plans on line that I later saw, but didn't see at the time of booking).

Gas fire made the unit feel cosy, view over the olive trees and mangroves was relaxing. Close to Makatana to get to the Saturday Market. Well worth the effort.

The location is lovely, down by the river. The units are clean and tidy with good facilities. Heating options were great for a winter stay, the gas fire was lovely. And the addition of Netflix and wifi was appreciated.

The second bedroom has no power points and the light switch for the main light is in the lounge, so you have to go back into the lounge to turn off the light. A power point behind the bed with a side table and lamp would be better. We were disappointed that the swimming pool wasn't open as advertised.

The staff were amazing! We got stuck as a result of the weather closing the road between home and Auckland. Nice and close to Matakana village - with amazing views - highly recommended. We will be back, under hopefully less tiresome conditions!
