All of the staff are very nice and most helpful Alan the Day Manager was the exception and was able to smooth out a few of the rough edges. Special mention to Padma who looked after us in the Restaurant.

Restaurant: There is no a-la-carte breakfast even though this is advertised on Booking.com Choice of 3 luke warm set meals served from a Bain-marie - bread was stale. Very poor. Once we complained, Alan "broke the rules” and let us order a-la-carte. Lunch: Choice of 5 Set meals or a frozen prepacked pizza heated up. (Seico Mart standard) Optional add on salad only available with the 4 set meals. We convinced the waitress to ask the chef if we could have the salad with the pizza and got it. (A win for the customer) When you are booked in for a week you want to be able to eat different foods not be limited to a few set meals. Dinner: We decided to have Room Service Dinner - Sorry not available. In fact there is no room service available for anything. We did however have dinner in the Restaurant a couple of times and was pleasantly surprised. Both meals were very good. 8/10 Bathroom. No towel hooks or racks to hang used towels. Requested some fresh towels for the room - Not a regular housekeeping day so thats 800Yen TV, Washer etc. Instructions only in Japanese. Ski in - Ski Out — The new Gondolla/Chair Lift to ferry guests to the main ski area closed. Buses provided but I am not a bus queing kind of guy. There is not a shop where you can buy snacks, drinks, fruit, chocolate, toiletries or anything else. No vending machine either. You need to take what you need with you - not always easy when you are taking a bus to get there. Bottom line : This is a beautiful hotel and staff are very nice. Owners/Management on the other hand need to lift their game — they just dont get it...

Due to covid it seemed like we had the place to ourselves. Stayed 5 nights and probably saw just 3 or 4 other parties. I read some of the reviews regarding the staff and was a bit hesitant however the Staff for us was extremely nice and accommodating! Absolutely no complaints! Nice facilities, ski valet, kids room, onsen though we didn’t use it. Big spacious rooms with basic cooking/dish ware, smart tv, washer, good breakfast. Snow conditions were also great during our stay!

We were very disappointed that it wasn’t a ski in ski out as advertised. Due to covid the gondola near the hotel wasn’t running. Despite this though the staff provided private shuttle service for us whenever we needed it to the mountain center or neighboring hotels which was very convenient and they were always super prompt. Washer kept erroring out and we kept having to reset mid cycle. Not much things nearby within close proximity but If you plan wise, you don’t really need to leave Kiroro.
