Super guesthouse, très bien placée sur la rue principale et proche de la plage. Tamara et sa famille sont très accueillants. C’était un plaisir de séjourner là-bas.
Le train passe juste à côté, ce qui n’est pas très gênant quand on dort avec des bouchons d’oreilles.

Прекрасные, добрые и отзывчивые хозяева отеля! Хорошие завтраки, по запросу могут приготовить ланкийский. Очень-очень чисто, красивая ухоженная территория! Большие номера. Есть все, что нужно для комфортного отдыха.
Единственный минус - это близость железной дороги, но поезда ходят не так часто. К звуку поезда быстро привыкаешь.

The luxurious accommodations, coupled with exceptional service, made my stay truly memorable. Without doubt one of the favorite hotels I stayed during my time in Sri Lanka! Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the receptionist and we booked a twin bed room and we were upgraded to the Junior Suite Room. The staff was extremely friendly, the restaurant very flexible (appreciate this!) and We had two great evenings here, specially we need to mention in the restaurant there is a nice art. Even we never see those things before. It is amazing and lovely. Those things obviously also added up to the experience.
Devindi and Nipun are such a warm personality and highly motivated guide (recommendable!). The scenery of the hotel was beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment.
Note, this is such a nice place, and the atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to me. And the railway tracks behind the property and that sound is bearable it’s not big a problem for to see the beautiful of that nature. All respect for the receptionist and the staff who does a great job here; a true sample of excellent hospitality!

the place is quiet but everything is very near, many restaurants and shops. the room is very comfortable and big. the patio of the room is cool. the staff is helpful and kind.

Bit of a smelly room, but nothing that big. Keep in mind this is right next to the train track! You’ll get up at night for sure.

we‘ve had an amazing stay at Tamara Motel: the Junior Suite is super comfortable, spacious, well equipped, has a besutiful bathroom and a great seaview-terrace. It was very clean, the breakfast was fantastic, the garden is super nice and Devindi & team are extremly helpful. we fully recommend Tamara Motel!

I had such a lovely stay at Tamara Motels. Devindi and her family are warm and friendly hosts, and nothing was too much trouble. Communication with them was great right from the start. The room itself was fantastic, absolutely huge, comfy beds, gorgeous bathroom and the biggest balconies! The whole place is spotlessly clean, and the location is perfect!
The only slight downside is the railway line that runs directly behind the property, which is quite loud, but nothing a pair of earplugs can’t solve (available from reception)

If you stay there, get the junior family suite. Rooftop with wrap-around deck. It's great!

Great location, very nice and clean rooms, but what makes it such a good place to stay is the staff. Everyone is incredibly helpful and generous with their time and advice. We had breakfast from them, delicious and superb. They have a lot of different breakfast options. It's like French toast, an international breakfast, and also a Sri Lankan breakfast. When we check into the room, the room smells of cinnamon, which is very pleasant for us. It's right next to the train tracks, but that didn't bother us. This was one of the nicest places we stayed in the four weeks we spent in Sri Lanka. We are recommend this good place and definitely we will come again to here.

Lovely family run motel, very friendly and welcoming hosts, loved the property immediately with its quirkiness and cute decor in rooms, appreciated having a fridge, kettle and somewhere to hang out wet beachwear (on the roof top) we also appreciated the location next to the train track and this added to our Sri Lankan experience after having done the Colombo, Kandy, Ella train journey. Nice breakfast, choices, and plentiful. Brilliant location only a minutes walk from beach, shops restaurants etc.
Disappointing that during a five night stay our room wasn’t made up (clean towels offered, bins emptied etc) however this did not effect the quality of our stay but is meant as helpful feedback to hosts.

Had a brilliant stay. The room was very clean and tidy. It is in a good location and we had a great breakfast(it is very different from the other hotels continental breakfast) and the staff were extremely helpful and hospitable. We would definitely recommend and would certainly stay here again.

Best place in my entire trip in srilanka.
Everywhere so clean and neat.
Very friendly staff and can get lot of advices around the area and sightseeings too.
Tour arrangements with drop off and pickup also arranged by property.
Rooms were cozy and comfortable.
Feel like home away home by the beginning.
Location was fantastic everything was super close by

Excellent motel with excellent location located at the center of the hikkaduwa and just cross the road to the beach,extremely clean & comfortable . Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the friendly reception staff and they are very helpful (it is a family business),they make our trip more interesting with their advices & tips about the city ,supermarket ,shops, restaurants bars are within walking distance. Would definitely recommend this lovely place to the everybody! It's a true sample of excellent hospitality. Thank you again Tamara Motels for making our holiday excellent ❤️

The staff was extremely friendly, the restaurant is very flexible (appreciate this!) cause they are explaining the differences of each meal and we had a delicious meals in breakfast(sri lankan). We had one great evening here, which obviously also added up to the experience.

Unlike some of the place I’ve stay in, I found the Nice place to be Spotless clean,The staff was very friendly and consistently making sure I was comfortable. Lovely motel with a wonderful a good breakfast restaurant. Very friendly staff.Motel is full of great art. Just a charming place.

The best stay ever.The environment was pleasant and welcoming. Both check-in and check-out were professionally handled and easy.Walking distance to everything.Loved the hotel Location and Atmosphere.Beautiful rooms, great ambiance in the hotel.The staff is very friendly and always here to help and guide us.Service was Terrific and we had palatable breakfast including fruit platter. Everything was very clean, nice and comfortable. The room was amazing and the facilities were really good. You definitely get what you pay for and even more. The Wi-Fi also worked really well.
Furthermore the owners were really helpful and considered and the breakfast was great.
We’ve stayed in 9 different hotels/hostels/homestays while traveling in Sri Lanka and this was definitely the best one!

Great location, easy to get in and out of the city. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The hotel is well maintained and clean. The beds were very firm, and we have every facilities we need. The breakfast was good. I, especially, enjoyed the view of the train and train track.

Tamara Motels exceeded my expectations was spotless the staff was amazing and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in.The staff was the nicest staff I have ever encountered at a hotel. They were always friendly and asked how our stay was going every time they seen us. They also were able to recommend places to get any type of meal that we needed as well.
I recommended this motel for every guest without any worries.I will come again to visit this hotel definitely ❤️

THANK YOU for my first stay in sri lanka - it was the best start for me, I appreciated a lot because it was such a warm welcome. Had a big room, with own bathroom and kitchen - everything you need. breakfast was tasty, you can feel that everything is made with much love from a really kind family. Tamara Motels is in a good location, near the train station in hikkaduwa. And I felt very safe (because I‘m a solo traveller, so I can recommend it for all of you) :)
just a little little things - but it‘s not so bad if you have ear pads. the train is very loud in the night… so don‘t forget your „Ohropax“ :))

Good location, close to turtle beach. They were flexible and made breakfast for us earlier than normally scheduled due to our early departure.
They prefer payment in dollars but when you pay in dollars they accept only brand new banknotes. I gave a banknote that was "used" and they did not like it (places that we visited later had no problem with used banknotes). Well, dollar is dollar...
