Althought expansive, it was really worth it. The courtyard was amazing, you really felt that you were in a tropical paradise, with all the trees, landscape and small streams filled with fish. Loved to see the iguana and the peacocks. The service was amazing, the waiters very friendly and treated me like a queen. The food was excellent and I loved eating right in front of the beach.

The only negative thing I can say is that the entertainment was too late, started at 21h30 ! Which was 23h30 at my time. I was never able to tough until that time, I had to go to bed before that. So I did not get to see any shows, except the Sunday show and the entertainment for Mexican nights at one of the restaurants.

The food wasn’t very good considering the price for all inclusive. there wasn’t much variety either. we stayed at villas del palmar one year and we were expecting that level of food but were disappointed with Velas Vallarta.

the location is perfect, staff was really nice and the kids club was great for my girls. Food and Service is excellent.

The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Pools are fantastic. Staff is very friendly, helpful and professional. Restaurants are pretty good with decent variety and very good service.

Rooms need updating. They are a bit small and run down. Not as nice as other resorts in the same class.

The staff was extremely friendly and very understanding and respectful of our poor Spanish. All the food was excellent. Rooms were clean and cool.

No evening entertainment and lobby bar was only place to get drinks after dinner. Not sure how much of this was due to health safety precautions. Although probably not a con for most people, there were very few locations where we could smoke.

I cannot say enough about the quality of the staff. Very cordial, easy to talk to, .. they know to pay attention to the customers. In more than one instance, if one staffer could not directly resolve an issue he/she did not direct me to another, He or She would own the issue and redirect it himself/herself. No language issues either.

The hotel could use a true on-site barista / espresso bar. The Nespresso machine is a degradation to the quality of the food served otherwise. One must take a bus or walk 15 minutes to the nearest Starbucks. Say a few prayers, toss that thing in to the nearest convenient active volcano, and get serious about quality espresso drinks on campus. The Lazy River needs to be that. The water needs to be pumped at a much greater volume from the inner pool to the ocean pool to prevent all the junk from collating at the beginning of the river. Fix the lining of the river as well---too many harsh, sharp edges gauging chunks of flesh off patrons. It's not the weight loss program I had in mind. Finally -- cost. At ~$115 / person / night, I have to judge the whole package against similar venues in Hawaii, Florida, the Carribean, etc. I am of the opinion that the "all inclusive" package -- given all the pros and cons --- is over-priced. Unless that drops, even though I had a splendid time, I will research other places to stay next I visit Puerto Vallarta.

The rooms are old and dark. Not enough restaurants. The World Tour restaurant wasn't good. The Andrea is the only good restaurant but if you stay for a week you get tire eating at the same place.
