The Location was perfect for me. It was right next door to the bus station. My flight got in late and I had to stay overnight and leave on an early bus to Tamarindo.
The bed was hard and it was noisy. But as expected for the price.

location is right next door to the bus station which was a blessing for us as we had heavy luggage. Our room was very clean so for those two reasons I would recommend this hotel.
the area was very rough, lots of drug addicts outside and people hanging around on street corners so be aware if you’re a solo traveller. they also charge this hotel by the hour & we were joined at reception by a female checking in with her “client”.

Very Friendly, Nicaraguan ladies working, very Helpful. Thankful for their help and honesty!!!!!
My mom told me about this place, close to TransNica, a nice restaurant on both side of the street and mini shops, Pulperías.

:( -SAFETY and TRUST in Hotel Staff:
We arrived late and wanted to go out to eat. We asked the staff lady, if it is safe for gringos to walk around in the night in the area. We where told that it is perfectly safe and nothing to worry, even at this hour. We watched the area ab bit from the upper window and there where very shady looking guys on the street (pimps and drug dealer/ addicts). It was the firt time in 4 weeks NIC/CR that I felt quite unsafe. I checked out a place to eat just 50m away from the Hotel, so I thought that this would be safe. We went there, the place was completly locked with bars, no way to enter. The food was given out through the bars. There where a few "normal" looking guys, waiting for their food and some people, you definitely don't want to meet in the night (probabely heavy addicts). One guy approached us and wanted money, another was watching us. It felt like we where about to be jumped. I gave him a dollar, he wanted more. Then he fixated on me and got aggressive. He looked like the type that stabbs you down without hesitation. A bad situation. A local came by and tried to calm the guy, gave him money as well. Then the guy went off. The local told us, that the area is very unsafe at this hour (11pm) and we should go directly back to the hotel. In this moment another guy was approaching us, same way like the first. The local guy stood with the car door open and fixated him, so he probably thought that somewone is going to call the police. He ran off. We went straigth back to the hotel. The street was full of these guys. Back in the hotel I confronted the staff lady. I just imagined if we would have taken phones and money (which we didn't, because I felt very uncomfortable with the security situation) and walked further around the block....
...They would have robbed us with a high probability. So I told her this and she reacted very disappointing: "These are just kids and sometimes a bit drunk. No one gets robbed here. It's perfectly safe. Who we think we where, that we asume to get robbed. Did they actually rob you? AFTER they ROB you, you call the police, not before". That was the moment where I started to feel unsafe in the Hotel. I realised, that this area is an area of shady business, assumingly pimps, addicts, felons. The Hotel stuff was absolutely unprofessional regarding the safety matter, never had that before. Maybe I was overreacting because of the situation, but a Hotel (even in a bad area) has to feel like a safe place and staff must not communicate like that. It was a bad night with bad feelings and a happy leaving in the morning. I wouldn't come back or if necessary for transit, just stay in the hotel.

Didn't expect much, since we just needed a place for the night before heading to Nicaragua. We took it as it came, didn't pay much attention, too tired. Just a few hours of sleep...

At first, they did not allow us to check in because of electricity has gone but the women at the reception was really helpful and she helped us to check in.
It was very close to Ticabus terminal.
Very clean.
Can be noisy.
They rent the rooms hourly but it doesn't affect our stay.
I dont suggest staying more than one night.

We arrived with the bus at 10pm! I liked the location door to door to the Transnica bus from Nicaragua. The bed was cleaned, The staff was helpful and friendly, clean sheets, towels and a bathroom that worked. If you're a backpacker and just stopping for a night, it works :)
For everyone - they also run a room per hours, so you get a sense of what type of hotel this can be.
Nothing to add, IT suited our needs for a night

I was hesitant to stay here because of the low reviews but I actually had a good stay. I thought it was excellent value ($20). Also the location was excellent for me because it was walking distance from the Tica Bus station when I arrived and walking distance to the bus station that takes me to the airport. The staff were friendly. Check-in was easy. The room had a warm shower.
The location worked for me but it will not be right for everybody. It is not the sort of area to walk around at night. The bed had a hair on it and there were some stains on the sheets- this was my biggest criticism. The pillow cases and towel I was given were fine.

Clean liners, hot water, clean room. Good cafe and coffee point near the hotel. Cheap price.
There was a repair of stairs from 7 am all days! The hotel didn't aware me about it. Very loud hotel's laundry just next to the rooms. The window in my room - to the hall, so now fresh air, especially during the repair. Outdoor cats live inside the hotel, no special toilets for them, so smells bad. You can hear the door bell from every corner of the hotel, very loud and often rings at night (one night - 30 min non stop). About the location - not safety: a lot of homeless people sleeping at the street, all-night bars, huge autobus hub, warehouses around.

Upon arrival to the hotel there were a group of men looking suspicious. The area is loud with a bar next door. There were people sleeping on the sofas in the communal areas, lots of loud people in corridors and men hanging around with their shirts off. As a female traveller I did not feel safe here plus the bed was rock hard and gave me a pain in my hip.

Basic hotel near downtown markets and several bus terminals (eg: for travel to Carribean coast and airport). Good value for money.
Quite a bit of street activity throughout the night.

Pretty standard hotel apart from one glaring problem - the noise. They were renovating the floor right above the rooms from 7am to 7pm each day and it was so loud my partner and I couldn't even hear each other speak. The staff were friendly but failed to mention anything about it or give us any kind of compensation.

Clean. Close location (in walking distance) to downtown and tourist attractions but out of tourist district.
I found communication a little tricky (but I need to work on my Spanish skills). Would have been good to have some information available in reception area for international travellers.

Very clean and comfortable, budget room. Nice firm bed, spotless linens, with a small table with chairs in the room, and even a mall common area with a couch outside the room. The staff kindly let me store some food in their fridge overnight. I thought it might be sketchy as it was in a "rough" part of town, according to some reviews, and above a bar, but I was pleasantly surprised! – the hotel is an exceptionally good value, not sketchy at all. Also liked that it was within walking distance to the airport bus (Tuasa) terminal.
My only complaint is it can be a little loud in the evening due to the bar below – the bass from the music is unavoidable, but thankfully it let up around midnight.
