We had an absolutely outstanding stay! Our room had the most outstanding view of the bay and the staff were always extremely polite, kind and professional. The ocean and pool area was very stunning and there was always a chair available. The restaurants were second to none and the spa was very relaxing. The excursions suggested by the hotel made our visit magical! We will certainly return.

We were upgraded to an upper floor with funchal bay view. Excellent views from the room and great service from staff! Breakfast had a wide spread and was good. Take note that there are opening hours for the sea access level. The only downside was the rooms a little dated.

From the moment we arrived the service was 5 stars!! Very attentive to our needs and extremely helpful. Our room was beautiful and the food at the hotel is wonderful. Highly recommend staying and dining here.

Everything about the hotel is very stylish. The rooms are large and comfortable and have everything you need. At breakfast there is plenty of choice and plenty of helpful staff. Outside there are plenty of loungers and masses of space. Highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing in every way. Lovely pool side seating with lots of different nooks. Pool Assistants were very attentive as was the lifeguard. Spotlessly clean. Prosecco with breakfast a massive plus! Plenty of choice to eat and bedrooms very stylish and comfortable. Great location about 20 minute walk from the centre but lots of lovely restaurants nearby. Will definitely come back.

I have visited the cliff bay hotel several times and am always pleased to return. It’s an outstanding hotel and the staff can’t do enough to make your stay great.

Beautiful beautiful hotel! The views are amazing! It is definitely a quiet quiet resort to stay at. If you’re looking for a place to relax, no noise, hardly any children or teens. Definitely a place to relax. This is the place for you.

We really enjoyed our time in The Cliff Bay. Loved the amazing views to the bay and city, service, pools, amenities and really good breakfasts. We had wonderful experience in spa and lunches in Avista. Hope we'll return soon!

Check in was terrible. Expedia I booked a garden view . When I got to the hotel they claimed it’s a land view . They showed me the most terrible room and I said o would not take it . Eventually they showed some better rooms with better views for more per night . I had no choice but to pay for the upgrade . Point is front desk said they don’t ever have a garden view (Expedia’s website ) only land view ( in my case a parking lot )

We knew it would be good based on its reputation but were very impressed with the friendliness & efficiency of the staff.
The position is great & as we had booked a seaview room, the view from our balcony was superb.
We didn't eat at the hotel apart from the excellent breakfasts, tried to but unless you book in advance, convenient times weren't available at Avista restaurant.
Overall, very pleased with our 9 nights there & will almost certainly return.

This property is gorgeous! Ocean views that are breathtaking. The pools are beautiful with an elevator access to the ocean dock. The rose garden breakfast offered multiple good choices - friendly service always from staff at this hotel
