I arrived late on the first evening, but they were able to offer food, which was good. As I had to leave early on both days I didn't have the breakfast, though on the 2nd morning I was able to have toast and cereal before I departed. The room was in the gods but spacious and comfortable. The hotel is located by the sea front. I would stay there again if I'm in the area.

Enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Although we did not have dinner in the restaurant. We have to say we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast. Well done

Room did not look like photos on website, no heating in rooms,very cold, and additional fee for breakfast when we already paid extra when booking

Great stay, we were visiting family in Ayr and needed a dog friendly place to stay. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean with no skimping on the teas/coffees/milks!
Breakfast was lovely, continental buffet followed by a la carte cooked, also a sausage in a bowl nicely chopped for our dog. Would definitely stay again.

It does a job, but be warned a family suite is actually a cramped small room with three beds tightly packed in with very little space between them and restricted head height, up several flights of stairs. The room was clean but very tired, and the floor had holes in that you could feel as you stepped on them. Fortunately there was only two of us, but if we had had children with us it would have been a nightmare. As it was I hit my head on the sloping ceiling, trying not to bump into my husband, and spilt burning coffee on my hand and bed. Don't expect to get any breakfast if you are catching an early ferry to Arran, at 7.15am it was difficult to even get an apple! However all the staff were very friendly and there was ample coffe and tea supplies in the room. Overall for the price it was ok.

We stayed here with the kids and our fur baby to see the Air Show; the staff were so helpful and friendly; the room was lovely and clean and the breakfast was delicious.
Had a great time and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area: it’s right at the shore and only a 20 minute walk to the main shops and train station

The property was old and had character. The options for food and entertainment were a bit limited due to it being Sunday and raining sideways.

This hotel is in a perfect spot. It’s across from a nice boardwalk to walk the sea. The restaurant is lovely. The staff are so nice and helpful. Zoe is a lovely employee. All the staff are wonderful.

We had an amazing 2 night bed and breakfast stay.
Location is opposite the beach with a lovely outdoor sitting area. Lounge and bar areas to chill in.
We had room number 10 - absolutely loved it, ground floor could not see the sea but facing it. Had our own little door to the outside where we had a bench fir 2!
Staff super helpful and friendly.
Would definitely stay again.

Tiny claustrophobic room. Uncomfortable bed with hard pillows. Skid mark in toilet not cleaned. Not impressed

The hotel is value for money, excellent food, Tracy the duty manager and her staff go well and beyond to ensure that you experience a fabulous time ,

This place has more signs then the highway code!
Don't do this don't do that, you'll be fined for this you'll be fine for that.
Receptionist was abrupt
On getting to the room the stench of 1980s aerosol airfreshner was so over powering i opened the window and left the room to work from the bar area.
10pm back in the room or still smelt awful
Again found now signs in the bathroom on the hotel rules and charges you will face.
I did eat in the bar and the food was average not terrible but the bar man was more friendly
Was glad of the hot shower as i felt like it's slept in a bowl of potpourri all night, didn't take the breakfast as i wanted fresh Cheam smelling air

Small room. Draughty window which didn't shut properly. Adequate accommodation for one night stay. Reasonable breakfast cooked to order.

The staff were absolutely lovely. They were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. There were some bits, that could do with a little touch up, but otherwise it was great. A lovely quiet hotel, a minute from the beach.

Just want to say that both the hotel and our room were great. The bedroom was clean and very comfortable. The reception sitting area and the restaurant/bar were both stylish and inviting. We didn’t have dinner but did have breakfast, which was cooked perfectly and delicious. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. Overall a superb overnight stay.

A simple property which provided good value for money and suited my needs well. Staff were friendly, check in and check out prompt and bar well stocked. Ample free parking in two council car parks moments away, if the four on-site bays are full. Rooms are basic but in keeping with expectations.

This hotel is quite run down, clean in parts! But strong smell of sewage in family rooms, which where in attic! So not child friendly to say the least! Please read the reviews and avoid. All of the serving staff were lovely. But had not a nice experience with general manager/owner, very rude and unhelpful! Please avoid!

Arrived at hotel for photo shoot and instead of welcome to horizon hotel i was, in no uncertain terms, told that i was too early to check in. I used the same tone to say i was looking for venue for photo shoot and would check in later. Not a good start!!! Overall staff were helpful and the rest of my stay was very good but first impressions always stay with you. Spotless, comfortable stay. Breakfast was excellent, with good menu.
