Clean, comfortable, quiet, and attentive staff who care about your experience and your safety.

I gave the hotel a higher rating because it totally met our needs and expectations. I don’t want to stay in a place with next to no amenities where I feel unsafe, but I also don’t want to pay a crazy amount to sleep for a night or two, no matter how nice it is! The Humura was our speed. Spacious room, a wall of windows onto green space, comfortable bed and linens, reasonably working AC, QUIET, (except that the walls are thin! We used a background noise app because we could hear out neighbours.). Ensuite bath ✔️ - although hot water was off and on. Great breakfast and nice pool . The.pool is not ‘blue’ bc it’s made of local stone slabs, not a blue liner. It was refreshing and clean. The decor/art is great - a lovely African vibe. This is our new retreat spot in Kampala. We’ll be back.

Nice friendly and helpful staff. Nice, reasonably priced place to stay in Kampala

Quant boutique hotel with decent restaurant menu and friendly staff. Unfortunately the rooms are right next to the entertainment area so late noisy nights are common. Wifi is sporadic which was annoying. All in all I recommend if you looking for proximity to UN or Italian and Irish embassies.

Lovely property, quiet and surrounded by trees and birds singing. Kind of like an oasis in the middle of Kampala. Very relaxing and such lovely staff. They really went out of their way to make me feel welcome and accommodate my schedule with a delicious early breakfast. It is not a very fancy hotel, but it is really a delightful place to relax and retreat, very comfortable with all the amenities one could need, and a real escape from any hectic craziness in Kampala. Wish I could have stayed longer!

This is a nice, clean, peaceful hotel with lovely, friendly staff. My only gripe is that the internet frequently cuts out and can be slow

Never have I had such responsive communication before arriving at a hotel. The staff is friendly and professional! The chef makes his own bread, jams and there was peanut butter. For a centrally located hotel in Kampala, Humura offers a calming respite. Easy walk to the Uganda Museum and other locations. I would definitely come again!

The property is beautiful and tranquil. The pool, gym, and upper deck are all incredible features. The location can be tough to get to during the jam but once you are there, you would have no idea you are in the middle of the city.

Clean and quiet with great service; a small boutique hotel with large/decent rooms. Food is fine. Only challenge is reaching the hotel during rush hours. Not many channels on the TV. Great hotel for single travelers and couples looking for a peaceful base.

The wooden construction is attractive, the waterflow in the shower was low.

The hotel and restaurant was generally good. It looks bigger (incl pool) than it actually is. I had no hot water in my bathroom, despite the receptionist’s attemot to fix it. Staff was kind and helpfull.

After many trips to Kampala
We have finally found ‘our hotel”
Cozy, hidden away right in the heart of the city
We entertained up to 20 for dinner
and our Ugandan guests were impressed
Like having dinner in a tree house
The servers worked hard to please us
Only wished I had had time for the gym that looked really clean
No bug bites of any kind

I enjoyed my time here. My first time at this hotel and the staff treated me like an old friend. Food from the restaurant was good too! Fresh made eggs for breakfast, however you want them. Buffet had everything you could want. The place was quiet too!

Major building work was going on while we stayed for 2 nights in April 2018. The hotel should have been closed during this period. After a long hot journey to Kampala we had to step over plastic sheets and dusty corridors and endure drilling and hammering throughout the afternoon. The advertised swimming pool was not available due to the buiding work going on all around it.
On our 2nd day we found the room had not been cleaned or made up. My wife had to ask for clean towels and we made our own bed. This is not the standard we would expect from an expensive hotel. We could have booked into many other hotels in Kampala if we had known that refurbishments were ongoing. On complaining to the manager my wife was told the work would be finished in 3 or 4 days - that is not the point - it should have been closed!
We were offered a complimentary dinner but found the outdoor dining area was not lit. We had to use a flashlight and other guests were using their mobile phones to read the menu. We waited a long time for our food only to find it was poorly cooked. On a good note - the single server was helpful, moving us indoors to the lounge when a thuderstorm threatened.
On checking out the manager did not know how to operate the computer. The receptionist, however, was polite and courteous.
This hotel looks good online but the management showed little regard for the comfort of their clients.

This is a charming hotel with lots of local touches--African art, weavings, etc--and a pleasant garden. Parts of the property were being renovated while we were there, but the staff did their best to minimize the disruption. We were particularly impressed by the kitchen--the chef uses fresh local ingredients and to cook tasty meals.

I chose this hotel due to its size and location (quite central), but I was disappointed when we arrived. The staff is very friendly and quite helpful, but unfortunately they were building and refurbishing different parts of the property. This resulted in a drained swimming pool and loud construction noise throughout the day and into the night. When we asked about the construction at night, the staff did a wonderful job of stopping the construction. This was very thoughtful and helpful. While I understand the need to refurbish and expand, I would suggest that people are informed or compensated (such as a free dinner) during those times.

I had a nice stay, all of the staff really went out of their way to provide good service. It will be really nice once the construction is completed, would be happy to stay again.

Breakfast need to be worked on as compared to Protea, Sheraton there are improvements because rates are $20 - $40 apart, the bed was very hard I was in room 19, 1 towel was also not wow I had to request and also arriving with some construction, nothing wrong with that but at least I could have been informed prior. It was noisy even though I heard it was controlled. Other meals ordered on the menu were fine and there’s beautiful gardens and friendly staff and good WiFi

Nice hotel, good location. Pool could be a little cleaner but room was spotless. Some issues with their credit card machine and payment. Breakfast was amazing!

The room was large, the restaurant was good and there was a small but adequate gym. The golf course next door was a great place to go for a run.

In a quiet but central area. I booked for one night and stayed for four, so I was quite happy with the choice.

The service was fantastic and the staff friendly and professional. The grounds are nice including a modest swimming pool (undergoing renovations while I visited, but it looks nice) and outdoor seating areas. It is located in a nice quiet location within the city. A taxi is needed to reach entertainment areas but it is only a 5-10 minute taxi ride to nearby areas including Acacia mall. Overall, I had a pleasant stay here and would recommend it.

Extremely nice staff. However ... Virtually no WiFi the duration of the stay (but working at hotel down the road). AC not working. Tea bags not replenished each day. Only 2 satellite TV channels available. Uncomfortable bed. Apalling vegetable curry!

Humura, at initial observation, has the foundation to be a top 4 star hotel; unfortunately as my title underscores it, most of its potential is flushed down the drain. I stayed 9 days during year end 2015.
-Staff is very nice and serviable but lacks any sort of formal training.
-TV only had two local channels (contrary to what is advertised), reason invoked was the recently completed renovation....strange
-Hot water in the shower takes a good 20mins - and again the reason invoked was the recently completed renovation...strange. Furthermore a shower door would be useful, as the water spills out after each shower session.
-The hotel restaurant is supposed to be open until 10pm; yet in two occasions it was closed by 9pm and the reasons invoked were at best quite dubious
-Reservation done though Expedia but upon arrival they had no record of it
-Very happy that there was an air conditioner in the room, but leaked inside the room.
-The manager was unresponsive.
-Restaurant food was so so - very dry. And a lot of the food listed on the menu did not exist (or stock had suddenly vanished....for all 9 days I was there)
I could go on. To be fair the compound looks great and it is with regret that I write this. At a lower daily rate maybe most of the missteps would have been palatable, but not a 4 star hotel charging $160+ daily. I have read the response of the hotel management to other similar reviews, in which they flat out deny such allegations, I am here to tell you it is TRUE.
