Great boutique hotel in a fantastic location close to the action. Staff were extremely helpful. Hanna was amazing helping us with dinner spots and tours. Take advantage of this service. Morning breakfast was great, and OMG the coffee is fantastic. Had the PHO every morning. So good. Just great value overall….

Great hotel and amazing value. Location is great - not in the centre of the old quarter, but a quick walk to the hustle and bustle. It is right by train street, which is nice. The best part about this place are the staff - they are so friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and versatile. Beds, duvet, and pillows were extremely comfortable and we had great sleeps here.

The most comfortable night's sleep I had in Vietnam. All of the other hotels I stayed at during my vacate had hard beds and flat pillows. My Moon hotel also has a decent breakfast. Very pleased

It’s a small property with rather outdated decor and facilities but it’s good value and the staff try ever so hard to make your stay pleasant.

Most staff seems to not be able to understand basic English like bus/taxi,airport etc. Communicating with them is a big hassle.

All staff are very friendly especially the receptionist lady was very sweet and helpful, hotel is cleaned but fancy, and breakfast is ok.
You get what you paid for.

The staff at My Moon were all very friendly and had a lot of helpful suggestions of where to go in Hanoi. The location is perfect for walking to restaurants, temples, etc. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The transportation to and from the airport was very convenient.

I stayed with my children and mum for 9 nights at My Moon hotel. With the price you pay you get a lot of value for the money. The hotel is situated within walking distance to the walking streets, the night market and all the other tourist attractions in the Old quarters
The staff was very friendly and helpful with every request.
One of the rooms we booked said it had a sofa that you could convert to an extra bed. This is not true, the sofa is just a sofa. However we asked for an extra bed and we got one so no big deal
The breakfast was good with a variety of good dishes, European as well as Asian

The hotel amenities and rooms are clean and well maintain in new condition. It would have been an excellent experience, if they honoured our booking.
We specifically booked and paid extra for 4 family rooms with Queen and Single bed. However, when we checked in, they only give us 2 family rooms and 2 double rooms with extra fold-out bed. They claimed that the booking web-site has over booked the family rooms. It is just an excuse, when our booking was done 4 months in advance.
The fold-out bed was uncomfortable with a thin mattress.

Hotel is comfortable ... but short of pillow... we booked for 3 pax but was only given 2 pillows for the first nite, when we requested, the staff on duty that nite told us there are no more to spare to us... I then had to sleep on a 15" mini pillow.
They only gave us an extra pillow the next morning after we complained to the manager...(@___@)
The other matter is that the hot water shower was not working well....
Anyway , it was better when we checked in again after returning from Sapa
I have to admit that he staff are very helpful and friendly... especially the porter Mr Cat...
Thus I give a "smiling face for overall stay"

A terminator of my long-term support to Hotels.com!
After highly supporting Hotels.com since 2013, this experience was a termination of my long-term support to Hotels.com. As a gold member, I never experienced any major issues until 16/11/2018 when I checked in My Moon hotel.
As usual, I made sure it would be a window in the room and also made this request when booking on Hotels.com. I understand that hotels might not meet my requests and it was ok as long as they gave me a notice IN ADVANCE, but ignoring the request and gave me a room that didn't meet my request or the description on Hotels.com AFTER I already checked in and Hotels.com already charged me was totally unacceptable! The hotel manager then allocated me in a down-graded hotel when I had no choice the next day.
I called Hotels.com once I had a chance and hoped that this issue would help them to improve their services, shockingly they replied "hotels do not have to reply requests and they don't have to meet the requests". If hotels don't need to reply requests that they cannot meet in advance, what's the point that Hotels.com made “special requests” available on booking form??? After on call for 1hr, the staff at Hotels.com raised her voice and started arguing with me because I agreed to change the room, Hotels.com couldn’t do any compensations… This completely enraged me rather than the issues. The replies from Hotels.com were absolutely unprofessional and totally unacceptable!!!

Great Hotel for location and cleanliness. Staff went out of their way to accommodate us and made sure they helped with all our needs. Very friendly and a joy to stay with. Thank you to all at My Moon Hotel. Will see you again.

Our accommodations were not booked properly not just once but twice. Because of this, the first night they had to move us to a cheaper hotel which inconvenienced and made our first night in Vietnam an extremely poor experience. Very disorganized, lack of urgency and uncomfortable. Breakfast food was inedible.

Walls are paper thin, could hear conversations in the hallway and the person throwing up in the room next door.
No variety of breakfast options and limited seating. Chinese guests felt they could bully my sister into leaving her table one morning and got cranky when she said no - hotel managememt seemed to want to appease the Chinese guests more then us (westerners).
Ms Lyn very friendly and happy to help out with women issues.
Location brillant.

My Moon Hotel is easy to find and great starting point for touring the Old Quarter. The décor is a bit dated and the room was never properly cleaned. I got the sense that they didn't change the sheets regularly. Like some of the older places in the area, the bathroom had pungent odor at times.

Friendly and helpful staff
Great location: most of the scenic spots of the city are within walking distance but it is located in a quiet part of the Old Quarter.

Hotel is at the “non business end of the old French quarter of central Hanoi so either long walks or taxi rides to most attractions Hotel is clean but clearly decorated/ furnished with Chinese customers as target group reflected by breakfast choices (v poor for Westerners) and general decor Staff speak English reasonably well and are helpful I. E . When the laundry service failed spectacularly they send it for a second run and accepted the charges Also helped with taxi service and local amenities a lot In the downside hot water in first room was tempramental

All staffs especially Bob,Henry and Lyn are very friendly and helpful with everything all you need. The location is very good. The breakfast is very nice. Will stay there again.

Bob, Julia, Henry & Ming were SO nice and helpful. I was sad to leave a hotel with such nice staff. They were the most helpful and friendly people you'll ever meet. Their customer service is impeccable! The hotel was really nice, check in was easy & the breakfast in the morning was good. The beds weren't very comfy unless you like harder beds & the room felt very dated. But the rooms were huge! Very big & spacious for Vietnam. I would much rather stay somewhere with amazing staff than somewhere with a crazy nice room & rude staff. My boyfriend and I overall enjoyed our stay here.

I am cycling from China to No Chi Minh City. I stayed at the hotel for two nights. On arrival I discovered that I had left a bag on a train - it contained many important and valuable items. Staff at the hotel were very sympathetic and helpful, the hotel bellboy drove me on a motorbike to the police station to make a report, Miss Linh gave helpful advice helping me to feel a little better. Breakfast food was also excellent.

This was a great way to start our Vietnam vacation. The location is fabulous, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the pool/spa was perfect! Highly recommend it

Within 45 minutes of arrival Mr Charles and I developed a tour plan which accommodated my needs. The hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful. Breakfast was on the simple side yet met the needs. It is on the edge of the old city and does require some walking but offered quiet at night. Would suggest a balcony room to make sure you have an exterior window.

Great location, near most major downtown history Hanoi sites to visit; yet located on relatively quieter streets, in walking-distance near necessary amenities (right next door to mobile phone store, steps from many restaurants).
The major asset of our stay at My Moon Hotel Hanoi was our superlatively great experience with hotel staff. All of them: from internet concierge, reception desk (all shifts), tour & tickets, bellboys, breakfast on-order kitchen staff were attentive to our needs, extremely helpful and creative to assist us in this stay, for our first visit to Vietnam; staff even took time to escort, show how to safely cross streets in VN.
Lobby: clean, comfortable; welcoming both for check-in & check-out, even welcomed us after we had already checked out & returned to pick up luggage before departure to our next city. The lobby has a full bathroom; they offered to/let me shower after hot, sweaty tour, on night of check-out - Wonderful !
Elevator: works fine, beautifully decorated.
Room: spacious for # of beds (1 queen + 1 single - noticeably more space than in equivalent hotels/rooms in Saigon/HCM city), spotlessly clean. Was furnished & stocked with amenities: small refrigerator, electric hot-water carafe, key-lockable "safe box" in the clothes armoire. Beware food/snack amenities: take care, recognize that complimentary water bottles (clearly marked, can also get spares from front desk) are not same as minibar items (charged, including water bottles in refrigerator).
