Shilo Inns used to be "Affordable Excellence", now they are just crap. At least the one in Bend. When we checked in, the clerk would only give us one key, saying that they were running out. We checked the next day with a different clerk who said they had plenty. We had to ask for an additional glass and towels. We had a kitchenette unit, but the only wastebasket was in the bathroom. Absolutely no utensils. The room and grounds are in disrepair - like they haven't done maintenance in years. A pretty property, but a really disappointing stay. Finally, when we checked out, I asked for a receipt. Even though I paid at the hotel, I was informed that since I booked through Hotels.com that I would need to contact them for a receipt. Hotels.com says that since I paid at the hotel, I would need to get a receipt from them. I've called four times and finally gave up. I do not recommend.

The property outside was nice but the room itself was in poor condition (dirty, cigarette butts on the balcony, bed was uncomfortable) not really little kid friendly.

For the price it isn’t a horrible place to stay but it was pretty dirty the room was full of spiders and the carpet was nasty. The coffee pot I would not trust. Convenient area to stay and it was fine for sleeping but not sure I would pick this one again

Room was dirty. Carpet had stains throughout. Large patched hole in wall that wasn’t even completed. No shower towels. Hair in tub drain. Hot tub in pool area was not even hot. Found dog poop in men’s changing area in pool area. We’ve stayed here several years ago and were very happy. Not this time. Plus it was a balcony with river view and could barely see River due to plant vegetation overgrowth

Place was dirty; didn't even stay the night because it felt so unclean. Literally splashes of things on the wall that was not cleaned off, stains on bedding and the floor, sticky handles. Would never recommend this place.

I wish I could say my stay was great, but unfortunately, it was not. Before I checked in, I could hear yelling coming from the lobby. When I opened the door, I found the man behind the counter yelling at someone on his cell phone. He hung up as my six-year-old son and I approached the counter. While I was filling out my paperwork, the man received a text, picked up his phone, read the message to himself, and then exclaimed very loudly, "WHAT THE FREAK? YOU KNOW I'M WITH SOMEONE RIGHT NOW!” This made me extremely uncomfortable, and my child looked at me with concern. I was shocked by the lack of self-awareness and professionalism displayed by this man. The room was quite dirty, and the door locks did not instill a sense of security. Although my room had a balcony with a beautiful view of the river, it was covered in spider webs. Being close to the river, bugs were prevalent, and the screen door was worn and did not fit securely. As a result, if you left the sliding door open and the screen door closed, bugs could still get in. Room 422 was the end unit, located right next to the pool and workout room. The pool temperature was acceptable; however, there was a noticeable dirty ring around the edge. There were two hot tubs, but only one was heated, and both had an unpleasant odor. My son remarked that it smelled like poo. I felt too intimidated to call the front desk to voice any complaints, especially as a single mother with her child.limited options for finding alternative stay

Bathtub had hair and pubs. Prostitution a block away. It was kept up exterior dated rooms tv not great.

Our room had mold in the bathroom, one of the beds had a broken bed frame. The carpet was stained & damaged & the mattress had bed bugs! We left that hotel & found somewhere else to stay.

The room was not cleaned well. Had webs on dresser to floor. Shower had crown stains. Pool and changing area was really poor condition. Run down. Not kept up

No frills but clean and comfortable. Carpet a little dated and stained but their pet fee is extremely affordable and the property is pet friendly

The front desk staff was friendly and it's in a good location. However, the rooms were very dirty (uncleaned disgusting toilets, pet hair all over floors and end stands, foreign substance splatter on walls), highly dated furnishings, garbage piled up at outside garbage cans. The pool and hot tub were pretty clean which was a plus. We will not be returning.

It was perfect for my 1 day trip

Pure pleasure trip. Had a jacuzzi room and the tub was great! Things are a bit dated and some carpet stains but didn’t feel dirty at all. Comfortable beds and beautiful and serene river view. Would stay here again!

Doggy poop trash bin full with poop on top, spider in tub and hair, need to replace carpet. TV working great, beautiful view of river. Older property with great location in need of updates. Staff was great. Ice on hand.

It’s unfortunate that the property itself was very nice and relaxing but I got a king suite with a jacuzzi and found cigarette ashes in the draws, someone else’s hair shavings in the tub and jacuzzi had a lot flosties in it, it as very gross.!the jacuzzi also had pieces break off of it and there were cobwebs EVERYWHERE

We stopped in Bend for a night. We picked this hotel because it was slow to our route and allowed dogs. The staff was friendly and it was close to restaurants. The room was spacious but the carpets were stained and dirty. We didn’t have any hot water for the entirely of our stay. I mentioned it the following morning when checking out and the lady was nice about it.

Our was big, and I personally liked the river view.

Beautiful setting right on the river. We enjoyed both of the pools and the large hotel room. Easily accessible from the highway, just a few minutes north of downtown.

The room had cobwebs all over. The arm of the chair fell off numerous times. The dead trees need to be taken out by the river. Big bunches of cobwebs all over the deck. Only one ice machine worked and it was to far to walk to get to. I used to love this place but its gone downhill.
