The best part of the Vine hotel was the breakfast, there was a great range of options and the restaurant and terrace space were really nice. The location of the hotel is very central and in easy walking distance of all the restaurants and bars. The small pool on the roof top is nice if you get good weather.

We stayed at the hotel because of it's connection to Ricardo Bofill, which is why we paid the high price for it, however it was not worth it. On arrival we found the room very underwhelming, although comfortable and large it was pretty dull and slightly dated. It said there would be a view but the view was just of the balconies opposite. We have paid a lot less for much nicer hotels, so would not recommend this hotel nor stay here again.

Emplacement idéal, beaucoup de choses à voir autour, à pied. Petit déjeuner très bien et diversifié. Roof avec vue incroyable sur la ville. Personnel vraiment très sympathique.

Chambre moyennement fonctionnelle, peu de place pour les valises, une seule chaise, baignoire inutile en plein centre de la chambre... système de luminaires pas des plus simples. Très design mais personnellement nous préférons des chambres efficaces... Lit très confortable et chambre calme vue sur l'atrium.

The en suite toilet in the room was not very private-glass door that didn’t extend fully from floor to ceiling. This did not make for the most romantic situation!

Excellent location. Friendly welcoming staff on arrival. Room was outstanding with great views over Funchal. Good spread for breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel is well located in town - about a 15 walk mins from the old town - but close to the harbour. It's above a shopping centre, with cashpoints and a few useful shops including a supermarket. The breakfast was a lovely buffet, with seating available on the terrace, and a cute robot cleaner.

The bathroom set up was unusual - a glass panel between bed and bathroom (including bath and sinks) with shower and toilet in separate cubicles. It lent little privacy! Perhaps should have paid closer attention to the hotel photos!

Amazing roof top terrace with infinity pool, bar and good quality loungers. Pool was warm. Room was very comfortable, clean and high quality linen and towels. Also, enjoyed the bath. Staff generally very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with amazing choice and selection.

Small things: Over complicated lighting system in bedroom Coffee machines at breakfast often did not work Music on the roof top terrace started at 10am. A quiet time would have been appreciated. Did ask the bearded waiter on our last morning if he could turn it down or off but he refused.

Schwierig Rezeption, Car Park… zu finden; versteckt im Einkaufszentrum! Leider wurde unser Zimmer von einem Tag zum anderen nicht geputzt- ich hätte das extra sagen sollen; am Anreisetag war ein nasser Lappen im Bad und das Bad schien nicht geputzt?

Great facilities, staff were lovely

The location of this hotel is perfect, right between the Lido and the old Town. The rooftop pool is also gorgeous, and the staff were excellent - very helpful and friendly. I would choose this hotel again based on these positives, despite the issues with the room.

We did not like the room at all. It has an open plan bathroom with the bath and the sink area in the main section of the room, and no privacy at all. The shower cubicle and the toilet are in two separate areas with frosted glass doors that do not shut properly, so no real privacy and no sound proofing whatsoever. In addition, there are weird motion activated lights under the beds that come on whenever you get out of bed at night - they are too bright and you can't turn them off. Our twin room had two massive wardrobes, no bedside cabinets (we used an upturned rubbish bin) and no plug sockets anywhere near the beds. I would definitely not choose this room type again and would need to know if other room types were the same before booking again.

Location was very good for sightseeing in and around the city, Breakfast was excellent as well as the service.

We were upgraded to a Junior Suite but wasn't told this before we arrived. We had booked a Deluxe Prestige Double Room. We didn't like the Junior Suite room because the decor was grey, black and gloomy, the balcony had no chairs or lighting and there was a big bath placed in the middle of the room! We decided not to make a fuss but mentioned this as we were leaving and were told that we could have been moved to another room. We then asked why our room had been changed in the first place but got no response to this question. If we had been gothic/horror fans we would have enjoyed staying in this room.

La chambre (junior suite) était spatieuse et confortable ; elle disposait d'une machine à café Nespresso et les équipements étaient de qualité. Le rooftop est exceptionnel.

Le spa est petit et peu accueillant. L'eau du jacuzzi ainsi que de la douche qui s'y trouve était tiède.

Great hotel, Breakfast was great in a beautiful room with outside terrace as well. Close to everything but still at least 1 block away from the noise.

Maybe I'm old but I prefer regular light switches in hotels to you don't need to figure out how they work when visiting for 1 or 2 days.

We arrived late in the evening and the roof top bar was still open, we went up and the bar man looked at us not happy at all and said “what do you want” so wasn’t the best first impression, but it was late so he probably was due to close. Gave up on the lights got them all turned off no problem with the exception of two lights directly above our heads.
