Front desk was the best

It was a two star hotel but could charge higher rate because of its location. Most people stay there one night for the easy access to Mount Rushmore. We did for the same reason. It’s a basic style hotel with the usual amenities. The close proximity to Mount Rushmore was great for us because we could enjoy the light ceremony of Mount Rushmore that night after we checked in, since the parking validation was good for one year, we went back again the next day to really enjoyed walking the president trail, the shops and the museum leisurely. The third day we visited the Crazy Horse memorial and Horsethief Lake that both were close by and enjoyed the sunset at the lake. Another good reason for choosing this hotel instead of some more expensive ones in Keystone was it had easy parking in comparison to the ones in “town “ and this hotel is one couple miles from the town center. A smaller souvenir shops and restaurants strip mall was right next door to the hotel. It’s very convenient for staying one or two nights. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Bag breakfast was nothing exciting but available till 11:30. Good for sleeping in clients like us. We picked up the breakfast bag and use it as snacks for that day’s outing so saved money on expensive snacks at the sightseeing hot spots. Like the bathtub and plenty of hot water to soak away the aches of hiking.

The hotel staff was wonderful. Very clean, good mattress and pillows. Easy access to what we needed.

This place had everything we needed to be comfortable for a night when we visited Mt. Rushmore. It was pretty pricey for a bare-bones motel but its location could not be better and the staff was accommodating and welcoming.

The individuals at the check-in desk were wonderful and helpful each time. The ckraning crew were also eager to help when needed. Even the sack style breakfast was more than expected with a kids version and two additional choices. If we travel in the Keystone area again, we will book with the Keystone/Mt Rushmore location again. Also Rushmore is very close.

Hotel is convenient to Mt Rushmore and a variety of rating choices.

Nice room, we could have used a microwave but we were able to use the one in the breakfast area. I’m not crazy about their breakfast - we’ve had much better choices at other Super 8 hotels. They give you a bag with a small muffin, small juice, snack mix, water and small fruit cup. No protein included.

Staff was excellent and very pleasant!
