This unique property was everything I expected and beyond! Beautiful decor, a sense of place, fabulous location and yet quiet! Luxury appointments everywhere you looked….no expense was spared! The hidden speakeasy was an unexpected treasure!

Customer service was great. Everyone really went out of their ways to make us feel welcomed. And the hotel itself is amazing, quiet and convenient to everything.

This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at — and I’ve stayed at many. The property is very beautiful and unique. It’s apparent that whomever designed it gave attention to the details. The staff was warm and attentive. I’d highly recommend it for your next stay in New Orleans.

We had a fantastic and comfortable experience at ‘The House of Light’ - everything about our stay was lovely! Location was a quiet neighborhood feel with loads of delicious food and drink choices steps away. A short walk to many attractions! Every single member of the staff that I encountered seemed full of light as well! Loved every minute of our trip!

We had the best time! What a charming, gorgeously-decorated boutique hotel! A true feast for the eyes: every design detail - from the art to the lighting in the common spaces & rooms to the arched doorways in the rooms to the tiles and wooden floors, furnishings and rugs - was considered, luxurious, original and cool. I work in design; this places doesn’t look like any other! It is truly original and memorable! Property was spotlessly-clean and well-maintained: housekeeping slipped-in each day and slipped back out without us noticing or being disturbed. Staff was warm and friendly. Vibe was cool and relaxed and comfy

We shared that we were only in town for a few days but wanted to experience as much of New Orleans as possible. Shanna explained that Devonna was a NOLA native can could provide insight. Not only did Devonna go out of her way to create a list of fantastic activities. She also made reservations for dinner and tours on our behalf. Martin assisted us with our luggage and provided additional information about NOLA; making us feel welcomed. Thaddeus made a point to introduce himself. He told us about the dining options and offered his assistance. He was also delightful when bringing up our room service. The amazing team was for sure the highlight of our stay. Because of them we had a memorable and magical weekend. We can’t wait to return to Maison de la Luz!

Beautiful rooms and bathrooms. Outstanding and accommodating staff. Fresh cookies at 8pm. Very cool speakeasy bar with hidden passage. Conveniently located. Only drawback was hearing the streetcar early in the morning

Stay was very good. Staff was very nice. The only negative aspect was that we were not provided a full description of amenities upon checkin and at the end of the stay we realized we didn’t take full advantage of what we paid for with the room. For instance, complimentary items in the main lounge.

The staff is exceptional. The hotel is the most unique hotel you could stay at in the country. Great place it’s definitely on my do again lists.
