Very nice property. Great, hilltop location, panoramic views of Funchal. Everything neat and tidy. Spotlessly clean. Furnished with taste and attention to detail. Fine breakfast. Helpful staff. Outstanding was Antonio who gave us a warm welcome and is the highly capable head waiter in the restaurant. Also, Sonia, at breakfast time, stands out with her charm and professionalism. Highly recommended. Thank you.

Our recommendation is to restructure the menu in the restaurant. Do away with Italian pizzas. On the other hand, enlarge the selection of local, Madeira, dishes. Also, in our opinion, the wine list should offer more Vinho Verdes (currently only one brand), red wines from the Alentejo + Douro regions. Surely, the gastronomy of Portugal has so much to offer.

Everything was perfect! Nice staff, clean and spacious apartment, good breakfast, free parking. We will definitely come back to Babosas.

Friendly and helpful staff, scenic and relatively peaceful location with an amazing view of Funchal and rooms were big and comfortable. Apartments are attached to a restaurant which has good food.

As the place is based in Monte it was difficult travelling to and from other parts of Madeira. Cab drivers wouldn't easily pick you up so you have to factor in time to call Bolt cars etc. However the staff can call a taxi for you and there is a cable car nearby if you don't mind paying around €14 each journey. More importantly there isn't a shop or local supermarket where you can buy water and other items, so you have to bring these with you each time you return from excursions. Additionally the double bed room is just two single beds placed together. It would also be nice to have more amenities like slippers, but that's just a suggestion.

The staff were incredibly nice and were especially kind and patient with my elderly parents. The views are beautiful and the rooms are really pretty, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were always able to help with particular dietary requirements.

A wonderful week & they made us feel so welcome. The breakfasts were amazing & also the evening meals. All the staff were so attentive.

all in all a fantastic place to stay. What really made it so good we’re the staff who collectively gave us wonderful service. they were genuinely caring. Sonya in particular was wonderful, so helpful, so caring so genuine can’t speak highly enough of this property would definitely return. The breakfast were absolutely fantastic and the evening meals were wonderfully prepared. Beautifully presented and extremely good value for money. looking forward to returning.

if you want to get away from the hustle & bustle of Funchal but be close to the cable car , The monte palace gardens & the baskets this is the place to stay . The rooms where modern & super clean with parking below & the 22 bus stop beside it . The serve the best breakfast I think I have ever had . Every morning it’s different with my favorite being porridge to start made with almonds followed but baked spiced apples & poached eggs & bacon . The staff where a delight to chat to whist being so professional . Even if you don’t book to stay here come up on the cable car & enjoy a wonderful lunch on the veranda taking in the amazing view .

That we had to leave ! There where no toiletries in the bathroom to make sure you bring your own .

The apartment was spacious and equipped to a very high standard. Our apartment on level 2 had a massive sun terrace with couches and loungers. Breakfast was a treat.

I'm sure a good proportion of guests are Brits so why no BBC other than the Antiques bloody Roadshow?.Most of the HDMI channels had signal issues.

Super friendly and accomodating staff. Very clean and tidy. The breakfast is exceptional and everything I had at the restaurant was delicious (also they bring everything to your room without extra charge). Beautiful view. Very good value for money. Would love to come back!

Excellent stay at Babosa's. At top of cable car to Funchal. Busy during the day but peaceful at night. Ideal to avoid the business of Funchal. Situated in Monte with lovely gardens and near botanical gardens. 22 bus takes you into and back from Funchal in about 15 mins. The breakfast provided was tasty and enormous, eggs, fruit, bread and more. The restaurant on site is excellent also. Best of all was the friendly welcome and service from ALL staff, they couldn't have been nicer. Really recommended.

Babosas Village was absolutely amazing! Perfect service, rooms are clean and spacious. Great breakfast served to the table on the terrace. Staff was very polite and helpful. The breakfast menu on the terrace with a view was awesome!

Instructions for the kitchen equipment were not supplied. European range hood and microwave are different from North American but we eventually figured it out.

One of the reasons that we stayed here was the free parking. We also liked that we would be away from the noise and hustle and bustle of downtown Funchal and the hotel district, however, there was a cheap and regular white knuckle bus ride to and from Funchal from just outside our accommodation 🙂. For a special and more relaxed journey down to Funchal, the cable car is short walk from the property. Another option would be to ride down using the world famous toboggans - again this is only a 5-10 min walk from the property. The breakfast was exceptional - it was both plentiful and varied and was taken on the balcony with views to the surrounding hills and the harbour of Funchal. Our accommodation was spacious; it had two air conditioning units and a small kitchen area which we utilised on our last evening - cooking fresh fish purchased at the supermarket. The curtains were very good in keeping out the early morning sunshine. We will have no hesitation in booking another stay at this property when we next visit Madeira.

Well, if were being really harsh we would have liked some additional storage space for the excessive amount of clothing we had brought with us 🙂 The storage is perfect for those looking to stay for a long weekend or less - we stayed for a week - or those who are better organised in deciding which clothes they should bring when looking to stay for a week or more!

The room was always very clean. The Staff were always supportive and ready to assist with any enquiries. The food is amazing. The views from the restaurant are superb. One can see the ocean and has easy access via the cable car and public transport.

Lovely accommodation, with views over Funchal. Fantastic breakfasts served on the terrace, spacious rooms with comfy king size bed, well equipped kitchen, very clean everywhere and really friendly, helpful staff. On bus route 22 into Funchal to save driving down and taxis back up after dinner cost around 12 euros.
