Buen precio.
Una reforma para una zona de aseos mejor no le vendría mal.

It feels like homy. Very cosy little hostel that look like a normal canarian style house. Good as a base for hikers and trip in cars in north or to and from Tiede trip. About 20 min. up by car or bus and you got one of the greatest hikes in Tenerife on a sunny day, called los Organos starting at the parking La Caldera above Agua Mansa. Its a circular 5 hours amazing three filled route up and down and in and out of high peak valleys. Be sure to bring a bit of food and water and be sure to download a map or look carefully as there is a few turns without up there with no signs that can give you an ekstra hour down. Have lunch on the big rocks half way in 1600 meters height with giant view of the ocean and la orotava valley. Bus are every hour up and down passing 10 min. from hostel on the road circle near by. small corner shop of the street have basic food and fruits for small trips and a few days there.I like the rooftop terasse with good views, and also the little cosy kitchen and for some reason this hostel always have more interesting guest and more solo travelers, so its been a pleasure to stay some days or a week the past 7 years when im in the north for hiking. As a hostel this one got real character and soul, and the owner is nice and know much about the island. It feels calm and is not noisy. A good place for adult travelers that likes it more simple and quiet. Has similar feel to it as north indian small bed and breakfast without the food. I love that the owners keep the hostel free of the usual noisy workaways staff, who in many other other hostels play loud music all day for themselfes not thinking of the guest, so instead it somehow attracts more calm hiking exploring travellers. Alway easy to share time with others in this hostel or just rest or read for yourself. Makes a stay here very relaxing and easy. There is a few more 2/3 bedrooms here than usual in hostels at a fair price.
No breakfast. But always have free the and coffie. If you are not in car, you have to walk up or down the very hilly roads, and the bigger supermarket is down in center 20 min. If you arrive with bigger bags by bus, take the bus that comes more near the hostel, rather than walk up from la orotava station. Be aware it can be colder inside on very wet or cold days in wintertime so bring a warm sweather or jacket in its a winterstopover. But usually the sun is back soon again, but there will be a few weeks here and there that is colder than the beachside hostels. Some of the bed madras are too soft for me, but thats the case all over canarian hostels except the three house hostel in medano in south. An offer of a single hot meal in the evening for 8 euro would have made it 10 out 10 but you can find restaurants around in la orotava.

The place is authentic and clean. The guy helping the owners to take care of the hostel is friendly and doing a great job to meet the needs of the guests.
He is speaking good English too!
A bit far from main attractions, long walk up the hill

An exceptional place- nice interior and great, friendly atmospheare. If you are seeking for silence, you should book a separate room upstairs- in the dorm and dining room people will probably chat with you. There are hikers, travellers and artist coming there so you won't be left alone.
If you have a room next to the kitchen, it could be loud at night- it's a good idea to take ear plugs with you in case you needed to wake up early.

Manfred is a such a great guy. He's friendly, fun and knows tons of stuff about La Orotava and Tenerife. I loved the vibe of the place, it was chill but fun. I was stuck in La Orotava because of the bad weather in the mountains but I did not regret it AT ALL. I even stayed an extra night. Facilities were good, I really dug the kitchen and showers were fine. Location was pretty good, just a stroll to the center (quite steep roads, be mindful if raining!). Absolutely great value for the money.
Since it was often raining it was not always nice to reach the bathroom downstairs (you had to go through the open courtyard), but that's about the only issue. Oh yeah, some rooms are a bit "far" from the bathrooms, but I've seen much worse.

Nice family feeling in a cool hostel. The greenery around the area is a refreshing change from the south. Good showers.
