The staff were fantastic ,friendly and very helpful. The room was clean.
When we booked the booking didn't show that we had already paid for breakfast, we had to have it refunded in a Starbucks voucher. The shower was an absolute death trap ,it was so slippy we had to use a towel on the floor. The Sunday meal we had was nice and well presented however it was cold due to location of air con.we expected the room to be larger.

The room was nice. The bed was very comfy and clean. The bathroom was clean and nice. Will definitely recommend.
My only dissatisfaction was the fact that I didn’t get the room in the pictures I seen. The bathroom was a glass and you could see through it.

Good location and amenities, parking wasn’t an issue. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was great and the bed was super comfy
My only moans would be that the room was set up as if only one person was staying there, 3 pillows on the bed which seemed a bit odd. Only 3 teabags and the tea tray was dusty (felt like this had been overlooked on changeover). We were also only given 1 set of towels so had to ask reception for another one. Not necessarily big problems, however we were a 2 night stay and although it should have been obvious from the items in the room that 2 people were staying, when our room was serviced they took away the extra towel we had been given and only replaced one set, we were also only left 2 teabags which seemed a little on the mean side.

the staff in the restaurant were lovely, there was one lady who helped us all nice she was great
the bedroom was terrible the bed was like a brick, I was up all night long so was my boyfriend we were up at 5 in the morning waiting for breakfast and to go home as the bed was so uncomfy, as a village inn I would never expect it to be that uncomfy

The hotel as a whole, was pretty nice, the rooms were quite juvenile in a good way. It was a very good vibe.
The swimming pool was difficult to get to, since the changing rooms are upstairs and I had to head down the slippery wet steps into the pool.

I loved the friendly staff, I loved the facilities and the atmosphere really good vibes 👌🏾
I hate the design of the rooms and floors as it looks like prison blocks, but if I'm being fair it doesn't take away from a good experience unless you got an actual phobia lol

Not value for money at nearly a hundred pounds for one night. Self check in supervised by a member of staff. Everything extra. Parking, breakfast, use of pool and gym to be paid for on arrival . Room dirty, grubby, dirty sheets and scuff marks on walls and torn material on desk chair, together with dirty carpet.

Nice bed
Food terrible and expensive, had to ask for the blocked shower plug hole to be cleaned.

The room was great, just about the only thing that was
Dinner the first night was ok, a black and blue burger. The second night fish and chips, probably the worst I've ever had. There was a massive amount of batter and a tiny tasteless piece of fish. My colleague's was exactly the same. There's no point in bringing it to the servers attention (who were quite friendly) as it's not their fault. We ate out the third evening.
How can you get breakfast so wrong? The sausages were passable, the bacon insipid and greasy, the mushrooms ok(ish), the fried(?) tomatoes soft and tasteless. The scrambled eggs were the worst I've ever had (just like the fish and chips), in fact I only had them on the first morning. They were in huge separate pieces and tasted like cardboard. How any restaurant can be satisfied with serving such inedible food at vastly inflated prices is way beyond me. So all in all the Village Hotel seems to be all about presentation and no substance. As my colleague said, if he'd been paying for our three night stay rather than claiming it back as a business expense he'd have been very angry. . To top it off there was loud music playing at 0730 in the morning.....

No problem with finding hotel or parking. Easy check in, friendly helpful staff, super room in quiet area of hotel. Lovely facilities.
Unfortunately somebody forgot to take more bread out of freezer so they ran out at breakfast. Hopefully a one off.

Well-designed rooms with plenty of attention to detail and comfort.
Really didn't like having to check myself in on arrival (enter lots of details into a computer); it's the last thing you really want to do when you arrive, tired and are looking forward to relaxing. Also, having booked through Booking.com, not sure why that's even necessary?? Plenty of staff there, so I really don't see the point. Not a good first impression :(
