About this house rental
On our farm we have this NEW luxury private house. It is comfortable for four to six guests, perfectly suited for families and friends. You have the whole house for your self. It´s a good base if you intend to explore South Iceland. Two bedrooms both with two single beds and a comfortable sleeping sofa.
Guests are welcome to walk around the farm and say hi to our animals. We have horses, sheep's, chickens, cat and a friendly dog. We feed the animals twice a day ( Oct-May) in the morning around 9am and in the afternoon around 7pm. If you are interested you are welcome to join us! We live on the Farm so we are often at home and can assist you if needed. In May we get about 30 lambs and in June our Mare breeds a foal :)
In the winter time ( September to March) we often have Northern lights dancing over us as we are away from the light pollution of the town. Optimal Conditions for Northern Lights in Iceland are: Winter Season Darkness Clear Skies Still Weather Lack of Light Pollution Correct Solar Wind Activity
We are located 10 min drive from the town of Hella ( on route one) or 20 min drive from the town of Selfoss if you are driving from the west ( Reykjavik) In Hella and Selfoss you will find restaurants, swimming poll, shops etc. Landvegamót ( gas station, shop ) is only 3 min drive and that is were you turn of rout one to get to our Farm.
Hestheimar ( Horse rental ) is 3 min drive. Golden Circle and Landmannalaugar 1,5 hour drive. Seljalandsfoss 30 min drive. Hekla Volcano 1 hour drive. Skógafoss 45 min drive. Vík 1 hour drive. Selfoss 25 min drive.

It was a pleasure to stay at Kara’s farm. The house is so charming and has all kitchen supplies and more.

We really loved our stay here. The home is as described in the listing, is clean and has all the amenities including a washer and dryer. Staying on a farm was a nice change of pace on our trip - we enjoyed seeing the horses in the pasture next door. Before we left we lucked out and happened upon one of the owners who gave us a tour of the barn and animals there. Would absolutely stay again.

We loved our stay here with the big bright windows and large dining table for everyone to gather around! It was a great location to take off from to see a number of the sights around the Golden Circle. Our grandson really enjoyed toddling around the farm and we all really loved visiting the beautiful Icelandic horses!

This place is absolutely perfect spot on a small farm. Great location for a day trip to Vik and day trip north or to Reykjavík.
Love it…

We stayed at Klara’s Villa for the second half of our Iceland trip. It’s a perfect spot to enjoy the Golden Circle, Reykjanes peninsula and the south coast. The home is on a farm in the country with little lighting so beautiful for night sky viewing. The small town of Hella has a cafe, grocery, gas station and a few small restaurants. We comfortably fit myself,my husband and our three kids 6,9,13. The beds were comfortable and we stayed warm during our snowy trip. The kitchen has all the essentials to cook your own meals. Everything was very clean and they are careful to have everyone remove shoes before entering in the event of pet allergies. The host was wonderful and introduced our children to the horses, sheep, chickens, cats and dog. The kids enjoyed helping feed the animals in the morning before we headed out on our adventures. We would 100% stay at Klara’s farm again.

We had a wonderful stay at Klara’s. The house was very clean and exactly as in the pictures. Very easy to find on a quiet farm. We enjoyed meeting the family and seeing the animals.

This place was great. Quiet. Clean. Easy to use lights, fridge, etc. Dark at night. Great host checked in with us. Dog and cat went on a walk with us, but only were pet when we wanted to.
Remember to bring a flat sheet if you are used to that. We’d stay again!

Lara’s cottage is on a beautiful farm with sheep, horses, cats, dogs and chickens, all of whom we met and interacted with. Our kids’ highlight was feeding the lambs! Thank you, Harold!

We absolutely loved our stay at Klara's farm! The accommodations were perfect! We got to pet horses, dogs, cats, hold kittens and bottle feed baby sheep! The accommodations are clean and comfortable and extremely well stocked. We hope to return!

My kids keep saying their favorite part of Iceland was "owning a farm" - aka staying on Klara's farm! The guest house was perfectly set up for our family of 6, the hosts were incredibly friendly and offered to let my kids help with the animals (which they clearly LOVED - they even got to bottle feed a lamb!), and the location was perfect for our plan to explore both the city and the southern part of Iceland all the way over to Diamond Beach (cannot recommend highly enough!). Highly recommend and we're already dreaming of coming back!

This spot was perfect for our day trips, right in the middle of Hella and Selfoss we had plenty of spots to hop in for dinner when we were too tired from hiking and sightseeing to cook. This location was very well appointed and just the right side for our family tour! The weather wasn't cooperating for our little toddler to see the new lambs and horses but he had a blast puddle jumping! Thank you so much for the perfect spot and such a nice place!

Fabulous stay. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. The cottage was very clean and well organised. All we needed, for our 4 night stay, was there, which made it very easy for us to enjoy. Importantly, it was also very comfortable and easy access to the main road.

Klara’s cottage was impeccably clean and tidy. I loved that the animals were so friendly (outside!) and that Klara knocked to let us know that the Northern lights were very active! We had a little trouble with Apple Maps finding the location but after a little bit more review of the listing and the use of google maps, we arrived safe and sound!

We arrived late (after 9pm for sure) and the house was open for us. We met our host briefly (and the dog) but otherwise we were quickly making dinner and showering and we left early the next day. Everything was so clean and new. Kitchen very nice and stocked. Very nice place. I couldn’t quite figure out how to use the washer dryer combo and had to google that! If we were staying in one spot for several days, I would for sure choose here. We met the horses and that was just magical.

We spent 4 nights here. Although we barely saw them, the hosts were very kind. The home was very clean and comfortable. Perfect location! We would definitely stay here again. We are a family of 5, with 3 teenage boys. We fit comfortably in the bedrooms and pullout couch.

Perfect space for our family of six. Cozy and beautifully kept, feels brand new and had all the kitchen amenities we needed including coffee pot, filters, tea. And a friendly dog and cat to enjoy outdoors (not allowed in the house). We would stay here again.

Horse lovers dream
Such a great experience: as we drove up the 5 Icelandic ponies greeted us and my wife was instantly in heaven. Very new building is super clean, everything works perfectly and the location was easy to get to and convenient to our needs. As we learned is common this is a building on a farm and the hosts were 100 yards away: we never felt they invaded our privacy but they were perfectly friendly and ofte.n invited us to explore their farm, which my kids did frequently. Nice bathroom and kitchen and living space. Two private bedrooms , one with a queen bed and one with two individual beds. The couch in the living room was made as a fourth bed. There is a nice porch and deck and outdoor table as well, and a good combo washer and dryer, though these are the standard energy efficient models which coming from US take some recall on how to use. Loved the place and hope to return.

We stayed here for the first three nights of our trip to Iceland, and the cottage and location were absolutely spectacular! Communication with the owner was very clear, and the kitchen was wonderfully appointed with spices, olive oil, cooking oil, coffee; and other food items. The owner also regularly invited us to feed the horses and lambs with him. We would love to visit again with our kids!

This was a lovely rental between Hella and Selfoss (closer to Hella), just off the ring road. It was immaculate and everything was new. It was decorated beautifully. It had everything we needed in the kitchen including a microwave, pots and pans, plates, etc. The owner has clearly given the place a lot of thought. The propery is situated on a farm, away from the main road. The owner had two adorable dogs, horses, and sheep, which we really enjoyed spending time with. So between the location, new everything, and friendly owner with super nice animals, I'd rate this an A plus!

Perfect Introduction to Iceland
This was our first visit to Iceland and we want to come back for more! Klara's Villa was the perfect base for our holiday in the South of Iceland. We enjoyed trips to Geysir & Gulfoss, Thingvellir, Heimaey (part of Vestmannaeyjar - Westman Islands), and Hveragerdi where we bathed in the hot springs. Thank you for having us in your lovely holiday house!

Loved Klara's cottage. Wish we had more time there. It's a great base camp to explore southern Iceland. Had everything we needed. Ring Road was 2-3 minutes away, but we felt like we were out in the middle of nowhere. It was quiet. Horses surprised us one evening when we returned... grazing not too far from the home. Kids loved it. Would highly recommend.
