The house was perfect for our family. The location was ideal for our family and dog, the house was clean, and we truly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend!

Overall can't beat the location, it was perfect to walk to downtown within minutes and the driveway did fit 2 SUVs (which would have been a nightmare to park on the street and also impossible because of the permits required). The 4 stars instead of 5 is because the some of the upstairs bedroom doors and bathroom door didn't shut, and the smallest bedroom didn't have an window air conditioning unit (which were in all of the other bedrooms) and there was no fan to use in the room which made it difficult for our 13 year old niece on the nights that it rained because we needed to close the windows which then made it very stuffy. If you're able to leave the windows open, it probably would be fine. There was also really no way to use the backyard (no tables or chairs), so you can only sit inside or 4 people on the breezeway. The house itself was fine, clean and had the standard amenities (though no measuring cups so bring your own).

Our family of four had a wonderful time in Bar Harbor. Bike and kayak rentals are a block away, and we could walk to all restaurants, bars, and other locations in downtown Bar Harbor.

Location, location, location! House is older but clean and Dorrie is over generous with supplying plenty of towels, toilet paper, detergents and other supplies. The location is unbeatable. Everything in Bar Harbor is within a few minutes walk. Acadia is a very short drive. We had a wonderful vacation and Dorrie’s house helped make it perfect.

Our group of 5 adults enjoyed our stay here! This home is the perfect location to walk to everything in Bar Harbor and a very short drive to Acadia National Park. The fenced in back yard was a plus for the pup!

Older house but comfortably accommodated 4 adults, 2 kids and a pups. It had everything we need (kitchen essentials, linens, etc) and in a great location - walkable to restaurants and shops and short drive to Acadia.

Our group of 4 women stayed three nights and enjoyed the location of the home; it's convenient to walk to shops, restaurants, and the harbor. The designated parking place was helpful. The bed linens were fresh and comfortable. The home was clean.
The room with the twin bed is best for a child's room, in my opinion. The bathroom on the main floor was not operable because the toilet would not flush and the shower door was broken. The upstairs bathroom worked, but do understand that all the plumbing is very old. The owner was responsive and gave us a credit on our account balance because the bathroom was not fixed during our stay.

The house is in a great location. We walked to shops, restaurants, ferry boats and grocery store. Acadia National Park is also a short drive from the house.
Owners were quick to respond to any questions we had.

Our stay was very nice… property was clean the location was perfect.. everything in town within walking distance. Acadia National Park was a short drive and worth it. Lobster rolls on every corner, very friendly town would love to go back!

Great location on side street accessible to restaurants, breweries, waterfront, bike and kayak rentals, attractions, etc. Acadia National Park just a short drive away. Just keep in mind it is an older property with some character and quirks. If you are looking for an HGTV quality remodeled property, this rental is not for you. Also note free parking available is for two cars only next to house. Only complaint from the 6 adults was the beds-----they could probably use some upgraded mattresses and different platforms so they don't squeak as much. Overall, we loved being able to park the cars and explore everything great about Bar Harbor on foot!

We had a very nice experience at this property. The major plus to this property is the location. It is so close to downtown and all the Bar Harbor attractions, but is also on a quiet, private street.

I did put complain to vrbo about the fiberglass exposed walls , place was not clean: I sent photos as proof: unsafe windows, cobs webs on lights and fans, crawling bugs. Just unacceptable.
Mattresses were terrible : not only sinking everywhere, they just didn’t sit on the frame and made squeaky noise , all of us did not sleep well.
In order for safety to next visitors I recommend taking care of all the safety issues and comfort.
Location was fantastic but thats all.

Very pleased with our choice of house while visiting Acadia National Park with spouse and 2 adult children. It was spacious and comfortable with large bedrooms and 2 full baths. Best of all, it was a short 1-block walk to downtown Bar Harbor! We went out to dinner 4 nights, all of which were a short walk away. It was also a short walk to Bar Island so we could walk across at low tide.😀. Of course Acadia is wonderful and having such convenient access made our trip a success!

We had a great winter week here with our 2 children and small dog. Perfect in town location for walking around bar harbor!

Pleasant and cozy space, perfectly nice for the three adult family members and 50 lb. mutt who shared it. More could have come. Downstairs bath was cold until we figured out how to turn the heat on. Kitchen was very functional, and I loved the Fiestaware.

We enjoyed our stay very much at this nice little home. It was an older house so definitely had its quirkiness. But I had read the reviews ahead of time and was aware of of the quirks! Certainly nothing unusual for an older home. And the location was absolutely fabulous! The house is on a quiet side street, and we could walk everywhere downtown. Even walked to the Halloween festivities on Ledgelawn Drive! All in all, a great stay!

Charming older house in an excellent location in the heart of bar harbor and just minutes from Acadia. Plenty of room to spread out and the beds are very comfortable. The owner is very responsive and helpful.

This house is located in our favorite part of Bar Harbor with easy access to the downtown shops and restaurants. It is also well located for travelling to Acadia and the neighboring harbors. Another plus is that it is a pet friendly home which we were able to take advantage of and bring our family dog on vacation with us. As it is an older home, however, it does have its quirks. For example, access to the backyard is through the downstairs bathroom. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would consider renting the house again the next time we plan a trip to Bar Harbor.

This was the 2nd year in a row we stayed here and we chose it because it was available during the time we wanted and we were already familiar with the property. I noticed that the floors downstairs were redone compared to the year prior and the owner invested in maintaining the property. We love the central location and would return again.

My sister was getting married at the Bar Harbor Inn, and my other sister and I opted to stay here -- where I could bring along my two dogs -- instead of the Inn itself. The location (just about a 5 min walk from the Inn) was perfect. I could easily run back and forth during events to let my dogs out in the enclosed small backyard without missing a moment. And as a family that grew up in a house built in the 1700s, the historic feel of the cottage was lovely. We very much enjoyed our stay, and if we're back in Bar Harbor would certainly rebook this house. Thanks for everything!

Travelled to Bar Harbor with family and two dogs - this house was perfect for us. Enough space for us to be comfortable, and the location can't be beat. It is an old kooky house with a funny downstairs bathroom, but it worked out fine for us. Driveway only fits two cars, so we had to find metered lot parking in town for our third vehicle, which thankfully was easy through the parking app.

The location of this house in central Bar Harbor can't be beat. It was a quick walk to the waterfront, restaurants, shops, and the village green, where we could hop on the Island Explorer buses to access Acadia National Park. The property was clean and homey, with comfy beds and furniture. We especially appreciated being able to bring our dog with us on the trip. Dorrie was a responsive and accommodating host.

The perfect location for enjoying all that the town has to offer and venturing into Acadia. We parked our car on arrival and it didn’t move until we packed and headed home. Walk to shop, explore and dine. Hop the free buses into Acadia at Village Green. Kayak, fish and sail. Amazingly quiet even though you’re in the middle of everything.

We loved our stay on Federal Street. You can not beat the location. Close to town and on an adorable quiet street. The house is well equipped with kitchen supplies and is charming. This was our 4th trip to Bar Harbor and the best house we have stayed in.

The home is perfectly situated in the heart of BH village. As mentioned in other comments, it is an older home but with that expectation, it is well maintained and fit our needs perfectly. The home offers a/c for those who need it. The beds are all comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked. Thank you for another memorable stay in Bar Harbor!!

This house is as close as it gets to everything you want to do in Bar Harbor. It is also on a quiet street so you get the privacy and no traffic but can walk to everything!

My family enjoyed our stay in Bar Harbor. There are some little things about the property, but we addressed all of these with the owner and had our questions answered quickly. The house is a little older, as are most houses in town. The location is fantastic. It's easy to walk to anything in town from the house.

A wonderful week in Bar Harbor/ANP. This house was a great place to gather and make plans for the day over breakfast and a great place to gather and talk about the day over dinner. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking but we were also close to several great restaurants, breweries, bakeries and Ice cream shops. The beds were comfortable and it was a bonus to have two full baths. We have rented several properties in Bar Harbor over the years but this house had the best location.

Great dog-friendly home in a downtown location that’s close enough to everything we wanted and just far enough (just a couple blocks) from the center.

We enjoyed our stay. The location was incredible, right in the heart of the downtown, yet still on a quiet street. It is, however, an older home. There are some updates that appear to be recent (couch, fridge, other fixtures). The biggest area for improvement are floors. The wood is worn and damaged. With a few upgrades, this place would be awesome.

This property is so close to the main street of Bar Harbor that it was no issue walking to every meal. I was even able to walk to the grocery store for supplies. Even though it is so close to the action, the street itself was so quiet that you wouldn't even know.
