About this house rental
Enjoy family time with spectacular mountain and lake views from the wrap around decks on the main and lower floors of this custom built cedar home. Fishing, water skiing, swimming and water sports just steps to the private dock. Located on calm and protected Powderhorn bay, it has the best water skiing and Kokanee/trout/salmon fishing on the lake. This area of the lake also has some of the best bicycle trails in North Idaho.
Located on Coeur d'Alene Lake, 'one of the six most beautiful lakes in the world' according to National Geographic Magazine. You'll find all kinds of wildlife in the area, including elk, deer, beaver, otters, wild turkey and moose. Often, the deer prance through the driveway. Right from your deck, you will see an abundance of birds such as Bluejays, Osprey, Great Blue Herons, Hawks and Bald Eagles!
This property is perfect for large families or multiple families. It has a fully-equipped kitchen with island, a breakfast nook and a dining room that can seat 10. It also has 3 living rooms each with lots of natural light, Dish TV and DVD players as well as free wireless Internet - and now Internet is unlimited, so enjoy Netflix on the TVs or stream on your tablet and phone devices.
The 3rd floor has a master bedroom with king bed, an adjoining "secret" kids bedroom with 2 twin beds, and loft living room with queen sofa sleeper. The main floor has the kitchen, living room, 4-person hot tub and queen sized log bed room. The lower floor has a rec room and 4 more bedrooms, 2 bedrooms with queen beds (one log bedroom set), one with two twin beds and another room with a queen/twin bunkbed. The main floor and the lower floors both have huge scenic wrap around decks overlooking the lake.
In the lower level we have a bar with a 3rd living room, a pool table, shuffleboard, foosball table and a ping pong table. Having 3 living rooms gives you privacy as well as separate rooms for the kids to play in and watch their own TVs. By the way, we have hundreds of DVD movies in the house along with a lot of board games and little kid toys.
This location is a serene, private getaway, while only being a 40 minute drive to downtown Coeur d'Alene. Harrison, just 10 minutes away, has the basic amenities you might find in any small town, including a grocery store, restaurant, boutiques and an historic bar (One Shot Charlie's) as well as bicycle, Waverunner and boat rentals.
You can swim, bike or hike right out the front door or you can enjoy 100' of private waterfront access. The Trails of the Coeur d’Alene is a scenic 70+ miles of paved trail for biking, walking, rollerblading and skateboarding. It follows the Coeur d'Alene River all the way to the lake, then follows the lake south to Worley, Idaho, near the Coeur d'Alene Casino.
Many of the lake's hotspots are less than 10 minutes away by boat: Harrison Gateway Marina, Conkling Park, Rockford Bay (Shooter's Marina) and Carlin Bay Resort. The beautiful Coeur d'Alene Resort and its floating green are about 30 minutes away by boat. You can also enjoy historic Harrison town and the old silver mining town of Kellogg - and both have great antique stores.

Our group had a great time at Kokanee Cabin! The host was very helpful and communicative, and the cabin was clean, comfortable, and well stocked with the basics. Our large group (11 adults, 5 kids) had plenty of space and really appreciate the playroom for the kids! We arrived on 100+ day that was also smoky, which made the main level uncomfortable without AC. There are plenty of fans which were helpful. The basement bedrooms were fine, and the rest of our days in the 80s were lovely. Overall a great stay — we would return!

We had the whole family gathered at this wonderful and expansive cabin. Rented a pontoon boat and docked it there in Powderhorn Bay. The rental was well equipped with everything needed for our 6 day stay. The host were great and answered all our questions promptly. We would go again!

Our family ages 4-73 had a fabulous time at this marvelous cabin. We had enough room to spread out and areas to gather for games and visiting. We actually spent more time on the two decks and dock than we did inside. One family member brought their boat and two of the younger ones learned to water ski. Wonderful memories were made for our family and we hope to return to the cabin on Powderhorn Bay. Sam was very quick to respond to any questions I had before our arrival at the cabin and check-in was very easy.

Our large groups had an amazing time at the Kokanee Cabin. We had plenty space for our large group and the cabin come very well equipped, particulaly the kitchen and linens. We enjoyed beautiful views off the upper deck every morning and evening, overlooking the bay. I will add the the interior of the cabin appeared updated from the time the pictures were taken. Overall, we loved our stay and would highly recommend this cabin.

This was our second year visiting the Kokanee Cabin.
Well stocked kitchen, large dining room, big game room, indoor hot tub, lots of bedrooms. Dock and boat slip allowed us to have our ski boat, kayaks, and paddleboards ready to go at any time during our stay. Great location on Powderhorn Bay. We visited the charming little town of Harrison by boat this year. Really enjoyed spending a couple hours there. As we packed up after 6 days, all the kids asked if we could return next year. That tells the story.

This was our first blended family vacation. We had ages 1-60+. There was something there for everyone to enjoy. All the amenities made it so relaxing. We hope to stay again! The kids loved the secret room!

The lake was a huge draw with so many options, boating, personal, water craft, floating devises, paddle boards just sitting and enjoying the breathtaking view. We did it all. There was lots of smoke from fires, the cabin had lots todo inside from board games, pool, suffel board etc.. This is our 4th year, loved every minute ❤. We'll be back!!

We had a fantastic time with family at this beautiful cabin on the lake!

The house and it"s proximity to the lake cannot be beat. All of the amenities are there to make for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. There are plenty of bathrooms close to each bedroom so that everyone has convenient access. The dock and boat slip are easy to reach and have a great little swim area. There are tables and chairs available that make for comfortable relaxing TV or games nights. The kitchen is well stocked and cooking for a large group is easy.
Over all we loved it and will be back.
Thanks Sam and Kerry - The Anderson

We had a wonderful time! Annual family vacation was successful. 16 of us can be a little crazy but the house had everything we needed. Kids
Loved the hot tub and rec room. Adults loved the lake, boating and porch sitting. Only critique I have was that the porch had some rotten boards and some nails sticking out. With small kids it was a little nerve racking. Overall it was wonderful!

This property is perfect for multiple families or large groups. Lots of separation!! Sam and Kerry are very kind and quick to respond. We hope to be back next summer!!

It is hard to imagine a more perfect place to gather together with family and/or friends. Our 3 children, their spouses and our 4 grandchildren joined us for 5 days at this wonderful place to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. To say the place is well stocked would be an understatement! Every kitchen appliance and gadget is there for you as well as 2 refrigerators. The same is true for games and "toys". The DVD collection measures in the hundreds. There are bedrooms on all 3 floors including the "secret room" attached to the bedroom upstairs which was perfect for our 9 & 7 year old grandsons. The view of Powderhorn Bay is spectacular and the dock made kayaking and boating a breeze. Make sure you bring a boat or rent one. We rented a 27' pontoon boat from Harrison Idaho Water Adventures (they even deliver and pick up from the dock). The house is on the other side of the lake from the town of Coeur d'Alene (about a 40 minute drive around the lake) which makes for a more laid back and peaceful experience. The little town of Harrison is just 4 miles down the road and is worth a visit. We will always remember our "perfect vacation" and hope to do it again in the future.

This was a return visit to Kokanee Cabin. It is such a fun property. Comfy beds, tons of towels, kitchen so well-equipped you'll find things you never knew you needed. Just go to Harrison for ice cream every day and you're all set. Sam is a wonderful host, very responsive.

If the hot tub was accessible to us it would have been 100% great because it rained majority of our stay so we couldn't enjoy the lake.

Having first enjoyed this beautiful cabin (home? mansion? palace?) in December 2020, our two families opted to come back for the 2022 rendition of our Cousins' Christmas celebration for Thanksgiving, enjoying a five-day weekend! Four generations gathered for a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner that benefited from the finely appointed and well-stocked kitchen. The large dining area accommodated all 17 of our family, spanning ages from ~20 days to 80+ years!
In preparation for our visit, the home was already warmed from the winter chill and the driveway cleared of snow. The communication with the owners and the local host was once again exceptional during all phases of the rental.
Our group was constantly entertained with the pool and foosball tables, movies (expansive collection onsite!), nature walks, a captivating murder mystery, "Mafia" games in the dark, puzzles, books, and simply gazing out at the amazing scenery of Lake Coeur d'Alene! Bald eagles were seen, but we're not sure if they were watching us as much as we were watching them!
The bedroom arrangements provided sufficient options for all to find a comfortable and quiet place to rest up for the next day's adventures. Plenty of towels, blankets, and pillows were provided.
The new collection of memories, photographs, laughs, and stories from our Thanksgiving week at Kokanee Cabin are a wonderful chapter in the annals of Cousins' Christmas!

This place has a good vibe and the cabin is well furnished and the outside has the docks and you can enjoy what the water offers:)

BIG house. Perfect place for a large family. Great dock with a boat slip. If you don't have a boat, rent one! Great game room. Great view from the decks. Kitchen is really well stocked with dishes, utensils, all kinds of cooking gadgets in the "gadgets drawer". Everything is labeled which is super helpful as you get to know your way around this home.
Owners were super responsive and seem like really neat people. We plan to return again and hope to meet them in person. Overall this was an exceptionally good value. What a great way to spend a vacation!

This trip, for us, was a week long family reunion. We had 7 adults plus a baby. The top floor master is incredibly private. There’s one bedroom on the main floor which we gave to my elderly mom. Our adult kids and grandson were downstairs and loved the quiet, private bedroom spaces. There’s so much room for everyone to spread out and maintain their zen for the entire week. The view from this cabin is indescribable- breathtaking, really. We had morning coffee on the deck everyday. I had also looked at VRBO’s in Coeur d’Alene. Glad we chose Harrison. The view and sense of privacy is incomparable. Important to note that you can use the dock here if you rent a boat, whereas some HOA’s at homes in Coeur D’Alene do not allow you to use their docks. We rented a brand new pontoon from Harrison ID Water Adventures. (Russ and Terry; they are awesome). The owners of this beautiful property will respond very quickly to any questions or concerns that you might have. The kitchen is very well stocked. There are so many dishes, pots and pans, etc.. Drawers and light switches are labeled. If you need anything in particular, just look in the gadget drawer..lol. The hot tub was fabulous. Plenty of towels and toilet paper for all. There are a couple of fun restaurants in Harrison- approximately 15 minute drive.. One Shot Charlie’s & Lakeside. Drive along the River if you want to see a moose. The general store in Harrison offers only the most basic items. Our only miscalculation is that Coeur d’Alene was more of a hike to get to than we anticipated. It took us almost an hour.. (Slow driving, cautious hubby).. We flew in and out of Spokane. I’d suggest grocery shopping in Coeur d’Alene before heading down to the house. Much love and thanks to owners Sam and Kerry for sharing this property with us.♥️We hope to return someday.

This home met all our vacation needs and we couldn’t have been happier. Our family met from all over the U.S. and it accommodated everyone perfectly. There were enough glasses and utensils and kitchen equipment to cook a four course meal. The bay is quiet and beautiful as well as the cabin. Perfect for a large family gathering.

If anything, the only ding would be cleanliness. Some windows windows with spider webs, and spots here and there that have not been cleaned for a while (beds were clean!). Maybe things or an older home, nothing unhealthy, easy to fix (we cleaned ourselves) and the not so good news stop here. Everyone in the family enjoyed the stay, the house is very spacious, beds were comfortable, lots of fun stuff in the game room, plenty of parking for multi car family and the owners were very responsive to inquiries. Would recommend it to friends, in fact we already did!

Great house for large group in a beautiful location. Kitchen well equipped and lots to do inside and out. Only complaint was very dirty lower deck with furniture that was unusable because of how dirty it was. Very dusty road so I can see that it would be hard to keep both decks clean. This is our 3rd stay here and we hope to come back!

Amazing
It doesn't get any better than the house and location. Kitchen has everything you need. House is spacious, so people can find a place to be reflective or in a group. View is just over the top with easy lake access. Owner is super to deal with. Everyone that comes for first time says WOW . WE stayed for 2 weeks this year and will be back next year for 4th year in a row.

Great house for a family reunion!
We had sixteen people, including 5 kids. The bedrooms were perfect for us, and the pool table, etc downstairs got a lot of attention. The dvd collection was impressive. One grandson even caught a fish off the dock!

Our experience was very good. The host, Sam was super responsive to any concerns or questions.
We loved the rustic lakeside cabin and dock. Plenty of room for everything from exercise on the top floor, movies on the main floor and kids’ paradise on the lower floor, complete with ping pong tournaments. Even the baby could take naps upstairs in the secret room and not be disturbed by the other rambunctious kiddos! We enjoyed the big table for family dinners.
Our 2 boats fit nicely on the dock, however we would recommend launching them at Carlin bay before arriving at the cabin due to parking space. Thank you for everything!!!!

Annual Family Vacation
This property exceeded our expectations in every way. The house is huge which allowed our family of 8 (parents and 6 adult kids/spouses) to have enough room to congregate for games and meals, and also spread out and have individual time/space when needed. The view of the lake is incredible- 2 decks to enjoy from. Plenty of deck and dock chairs. The private boat dock allowed us to rent a pontoon boat for the stay. I HIGHLY recommend this! Small groups went fishing 3x a day (everyone caught fish- you need a license), and the entire group cruised the bay almost every evening before dinner. The kitchen is better stocked than mine at home and that is saying something as I love to cook! We celebrated 2 birthdays while there and made fabulous dinners complete with birthday cakes! There are mountain bike trails in the area, walking/biking trails in Harrison, and walking paths at the property. The neighbors were very friendly. We saw otters (on the dock), deer everywhere, and moose out on the trails. CDA is a LONG drive- so we boated to Harrison for pick-up items (groceries and beer) after the initial stop in CDA on our way to the house on the first night. The host was very responsive and very easy to communicate with. Overall, could not ask for a better experience. We (the entire group) would score 10 stars if we could.

The house and property are a fantastic option to stay on Lake Couer d'Alene. While closer to Harrison than Couer d'Alene, we found the spot to be ideal for relaxing, boating, and paddle boarding throughout our stay Labor Day Weekend.
The hosts are incredibly accessible, and immediately resolved a minor issue we discovered upon arrival.
Would definitely return again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. There is a lot of room to spread out. The views are beautiful. The walk down to the boat dock was pretty far but good exercise. The neighbors on the one side are very nice. We would stay again for sure!
