About this house rental

Lovely kid friendly Birdrock house awaits you for you vacation. 3 blocks to the ocean, and 1 mile to beach access in both directions. Relax on the large patio where you can enjoy peak view of the ocean, barbecue or take a 2 minutes stroll to the La Jolla Blvd for a variety of restaurants, bakery, and coffee shops. No need to drive anywhere. Everything is in walking distance Our house has 4 bedrooms with 2 queen size bed, one full size,and a bunkbed with a double/twin bed.There are 3 TVs, Internet access, Wii games, X-Box, DVD and a foosball table.
No parties are allowed as houses are very close together and this is a family neighborhood.

Play games on the grass in the front yard which is completely fenced in, which is great for Kids and Pets, or use the large deck to catch some sun. Borrow our bikes and cruise down the bike path or to the beach. Boogie boards, beach chairs and towels are provides for your convenience.

Why the Owner Chose Bird Rock: My husband and I moved here 20 years ago from Sweden and England. We have lived in different locations in USA, but we found that La Jolla is one of the most beautiful places in California, and one of the best places to live.

The Unique Benefits at this House: You will find a friendly, and easygoing neighborhood where people love the outdoors. We live in a granny house on the same property but do not share any walls or out door space. We are always available if needed.

A perfect spot for our family reunion. Great location close to local coffee, bakery, restaurants and stores. The owners equipped the house with everything we could have needed along with thoughtful touches. The kitchen was well supplied with cookware, spices and other basics. The back patio was a great place to hangout.

We had a great stay at this birdrock home. The house was well appointed, had a great kitchn and had a great outdoor living area. We loved walking to coffee, the bakery and local shops. Would highly recommend this house to families and we look forward to a return visit another time.

So much more than a hotel stay. We stayed a week for a family wedding. Easy drive to downtown San Diego, Pacific Beach and La Jolla Cove. Comfortable beds, plenty of towels, and an amazing fruit tower and bottle of wine. Just blocks from the ocean and Beautiful sunsets. Great walking neighborhood. On a sunny day the deck was a great place to eat and drink. The listing says the owners live below the deck but we would never know. We messaged when we arrived and they responded quickly to see if we needed anything. We would stay again if we are in the area

We loved our stay at this comfortable home. It is a perfect location to enjoy restaurants and coffee shops in Bird Rock. The upper deck is perfect for coffee in the am and cocktails in the evening with a view of the ocean. We would love to stay again.

This home was perfect for our girlfriend gathering. The huge deck was a lovely place to eat and hang out. The kitchen was extremely well-stocked with equipment and supplies. And the location was great--close to food, shops and the water. Highly recommend!

Our nieces from Montana and us from the East Bay Area met up at this homie home. Wow! The hosts are just wonderful. When we arrived we were welcomed with a beautiful fruit basket, delicious chocolate from Sweden and a very nice bottle of wine. The house has everything! La Jolla is a Jewel, nice neighborhood and so close to the tourist areas,San Diego Zoo, Sea world, the aquarium, the beach boardwalk, Legoland. We truly enjoyed the beautiful beaches within a mile radius. The owners take pride of their beautiful home, from the nice soft bath towels, comfortable beds, living room furniture. We also loved the terrace deck, what a treat to have your morning coffee and just total relaxation. The BBQ was just perfect, loved cooking meals, not too many places have nice pots and pans. Thank you again for sharing your beautiful home with us. We didn't want to leave.

My family thoroughly enjoyed its stay at this Birdrock Beach house with some ocean views! It is a beautifully appointed property that exceeded our expectations. From the hearty fruit bowl, chocolate and wine welcome gift to its fabulous amenities and pristine condition, Annelie’s VRBO was a welcome respite during a fun-filled family vacation. We could not have asked for a more comfortable home or a more convenient location from which to jump start our trip. Best VRBO I’ve stayed in!

Perfect location for our family trip - near enough to UCSD for our daughter's graduation, but close enough to the beach, bike trail, and adorable Bird Rock downtown for a very relaxing mini-break. House was perfect - everything we could have wanted was available - beautiful back patio with BBQ, spacious open kitchen and living room for our time together, luxurious bedroom spaces, and front garden surrounded by blooms. We had a wonderful time!

What a fantastic home! I can’t say enough about how great this place is. A well kept, exceptionally clean and TOTALLY stocked spot to call home for your stay. The flowers were beautiful, the lawn manicured, fresh fruit in a bowl, they even left us some beer and a bottle of wine. The neighborhood is great, and on street parking was easy enough to find. I can’t think of anything I’d change. My Dad couldn’t work the TV very well, but that’s probably user error! Roof top deck was amazing, just a great spot in the LaJolla area.

We had a lovely long weekend staying here for the La Jolla half marathon! The place was spacious, quiet, clean, and had everything we could need. We loved the back deck and especially loved the fruit/wine on arrival. Thanks for an excellent stay.

Great house and location in Bird Rock. Right around the corner from restaurants and nice walking neighborhoods with plenty of costal views. Kitchen equipped with everything you need. Beds very comfortable. We will definitely stay again when we come back to San Diego.

What a lovely find of this quaint and comfortable cottage in the heart of La Jolla. The best we’ll equipped VRBO any of us have stayed in. Welcomed with a fruit basket, wine and chocolate. Stocked to the brim with all essentials, kitchen bathrooms etc. would stay again in a heartbeat. Thanks Annelie for an amazing one week stay.

We stayed here for a family wedding. This house was the perfect setup for families and very kid friendly. The neighbor was adorable and very quiet, the patio was perfect and the house was stocked with all sorts of things to make our stay easy (games, condiments, kitchen supplies, etc.). Would definitely stay again if we have come back to the area again!

The house was beautiful inside and out and very well appointed. Comfortable beds and bedding, nice towels, great kitchen with everything you could need, gorgeous deck, comfortable living room area. And very convenient walk to local cafes, restaurants and shops, to the beautiful cliffside view of the ocean. Close drive to Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, La Jolla proper.

Perfect property for our 3 week stay. Modern, equipped kitchen. We were greeted with a bottle of wine, big chocolate bar and a pile of fresh fruit. Spaces worked well, e.g., one BR had nice set up for office (changing height standing desk!). Owner available, responsive, lovely person. Quiet neighborhood. We'll be back.

5 high school friends, now all retired professional women living throughout the US met up to enjoy San Diego. everyone kept remarking how much they loved the house and thanking me for finding it. The neighborhood is about 2 miles from downtown La Jolla, but within walking distance to coffee, bakery, a little park, and was really convenient overall. House is fully equipped and very comfortable with a large patio. We'd definitely stay there again.

This property was the highlight of our trip to San Diego. Location couldn’t be better, close to everything, and the house is incredibly well appointed (does not feel like a rental at all). Well-stocked supplies, a gourmet kitchen to enjoy cooking and a patio that I already miss. The host went above and beyond and was very responsive. We would love to stay here again and will forever have fond memories of our trip.

We couldn't have asked for a better beach vacation. For us, this charming house and it's location were absolutely perfect! The home is lovely -- so thoughtfully decorated with comfortable furnishings and personal touches ---it feels like a place you could just move into and be very happy! The tasty treats that Annelie left to greet us upon arrival enhanced that welcome feeling. There's plenty of space, both indoors and out, to hang out and relax. As others have mentioned, the deck is awesome, and plenty of tasty treats welcome you on your arrival! We loved the newly updated, well-stocked and equipped kitchen -- very few rental homes offer this level of kitchen detail for meal preparation. All of the bedrooms are very cozy with comfy beds and storage space (dressers & large closets). Beautiful Bird Rock is a great choice if you'd like a quieter spot with very nice homes, a gorgeous, rugged seashore, and plenty of dining options within walking distance. The closest beach is Tourmaline, which you can walk to, but requires a short drive if you have boards or beach gear. La Jolla Shores, a great family beach, is an easy drive. And then, there are all sorts of things to do in San Diego. In addition to some great surfing, we enjoyed a day trip to Julian to visit the California Wolf Center, and a day hiking on the PTC in the Anza-Borrega Desert. If you're looking for the perfect spot, with caring hosts, for a family getaway or a group of friends who want a chill vacation this is it!

We rented the house to attend our daughter’s destination wedding in San Diego. It was in a great location to take the family to watch the sunset at the beach and also within walking distance to restaurants. Annelie was responsive in answering questions and so hospitable. We had wine, fruit, and delicious chocolate set out for us upon our arrival. She couldn’t have been a more wonderful hostess! The house perfectly fit our needs for a very special and memorable time with our family!

Our stay could not have been better. The hosts have thought of everything and more. It was so convenient to have baby gear, beach gear, and all the kitchen essentials for family meals on the beautiful patio or inside. The house was very clean and comfortable, and communication was very easy. We can’t wait to come back!

My sister from Kansas was planning to be in my home area of LA for 3 weeks and we decided 1 of those weeks should be in San Diego/La Jolla. We found this gem and couldn't resist. One major criteria my sister had was an AC unit but she sacrificed that after seeing pics of this home. (We did suffer a bit without AC as temps were high the week we were on vacation). I had to work a few days during my stay but lucky for me, my WFH view was the beautiful patio. The bathrooms, kitchen and furniture were all clean making the stay even more appealing. Because of the no AC, we kept some of the windows open late night which we worried our talking/laughing would bother neighbors. However, we couldn't do anything about given we had to cool the house down. Some windows didn't have screens and after seeing a few bugs fly in, we had to keep those windows closed. Overall, a beautiful house and I would definitely rent this place again!

The property was exceptional, easy to get to shopping areas, beaches and restaurants. The house was spacious and had several different areas to relax. The house was very well organized and decorated. The owner of the house was so welcoming. I have never experienced this before with various rentals. She had all kinds of fruit, a bottle of wine and a huge chocolate bar to welcome us with. She definitely was the best part of our stay. She was available to us if we needed anything.

We had an excellent stay at Bird Rock. The house was so comfortable and very well stocked - the fruit basket and wine bottle were excellent, the checkin by the host was thoughtful. We really enjoyed the outdoor patio. And even the supplies for the beach was everything you could need. We would highly recommend others to stay here. Will return when back in SD!!

This property has more space than we had anticipated. Our two families had plenty of room. The patio and front yard were wonderful additions to the in house amenities. The host was so kind to provide all the necessities and a little more. Coffee and tea lovers would be happy here. The location was great, just a walk from the ocean and a short drive to the beach. This was the perfect spot for an extended girls weekend and included dogs which were also welcome. Great house and fantastic patio that we enjoyed daily! Great restaurants to walk to and lovely neighborhood and ocean views for daily walks. Would definitely come back!
