About this house rental

There is no better view then this!! Located at the famous Windansea beach makes this the perfect vacation rental to relax and soke up the sun. This 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom condominium has recently got a face lift with hard surface flooring, all new paint and completely remodeled bathrooms. This condo is located on the top level with a nice bright open layout allowing you to be in the kitchen or living room and take in the ocean view. As you enter the property (there are several steps) the amenities in the living room include a large Pottery Barn sectional sofa, dining room table with seating for 6, 50" TV with cable and streaming capabilities, free Wi-Fi, and two additional lounging chairs. Through the sliding glass door off the living room is your ocean front balcony where you can use the binoculars and watch the locals surf and enjoy the beautiful San Diego sunsets. There are also some board games and cards for you to use as well as some books to enjoy. Just off the living room is the open kitchen which is completely stocked with everything you would need for cooking meals. The major appliances include a dishwasher, refrigerator, electric stove/oven, and microwave. There is also plenty of dish ware, glass ware and silverware for 6 people. Just down the hall is the guest bathroom that has new white and bright cabinets, beautiful blue tile countertop and shower/tub combination. Even the toilet is new! Someone will enjoy crawling into the guest bedroom with a queen bed and nice cozy comforter to keep them warm in the winter. Down at the end of the hall is the master bedroom with the private bathroom. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, a day bed that makes out to be 2 twin beds and a 43" TV. The master bathroom was also remodeled with new cabinets, green tile countertop, new lighting and toilet. The master bathroom has a shower only. Through the master bedroom sliding glass door is a back deck that leads to the fully fenced back yard area. There is another smaller patio area down some steps that is for the guests staying in the condo below so please be respectful. A little message from the owners: "Windansea is magical. Howard and Claree built Windansea in 1971. It was Howard's favorite surf break and he surfed there every day for as long as I can remember, taking our childhood dog Mary with him to wait on the beach. We lived there for a year in our early teens and then the daughters Lisa and Carol lived there for several years in their twenties. Now the family likes to enjoy the free entertainment of one of the most iconic surfing spots on the west coast. We now want to share that with you."

The location is fantastic, just steps from the sea, and having a parking spot was super convenient. The view was stunning, and the condo was spacious enough for our family of five. The beds were comfortable, and there were portable fans available in case it got warm. While we didn’t cook, the kitchen seemed well-equipped. My only feedback is that the floors could have been cleaner (vacuumed but not mopped), and unfortunately, the tenants below us partied all weekend, which made things a bit noisy. But our host reacted so quickly and could communicate with them.

We couldn't have asked for a better location just across the street from the beach. We appreciated the beautiful views from the deck, the off street parking, beach chairs, umbrellas and cooler, comfy beds, generous size of the rental and proximity to everywhere we wanted to explore. I want to give a huge shoutout to Tammie with Windansea Vacation Rentals. I was having trouble with my VRBO account and she went out of her way to text me all the information I needed.

It was a nice place to stay. It was clean. The description of the property was accurate. Some updates needed due to age but would stay again… Some suggestions would be… paint a line for the car parking…. Other person staying below didn’t consider another vehicle needing to park. Replace or fix outside gate to shut easier….you had to push in the mechanism to get it to shut Plug in the master bedroom.. plug behind the nightstand closest to the bathroom needs to be replaced… items won’t stay plugged in. We did enjoy the location. Owner was quick to respond to our questions. Thank you for letting us stay!

This is our first time booking through vrbo & were super impressed with the ease of the process and would absolutely book a vrbo trip again! I will preface my review saying that my husband & I wanted an oceanfront, yet quiet place to stay and that's what we got! (for the most part) I'll start with all the wonderful things about this place. VERY clean, hot water, quality towels, comfortable beds, great assortment of pillows - something for everyone, well-stocked kitchen (we did need to buy the right type coffee filters), location was pretty easy to get in/out of, overall great place! These next things are just general feedback but nothing major. The couch was not very comfortable although we loved the IKEA chairs and actually have one just like it at home. The master bedroom windows allowed quite a bit of light in. The curtains did not move easily on the curtain rod making it difficult to keep the light out there, and the window above the bed had a light shining directly in from the house next to it. I'm a light sleeper and woke up several times at night and thought it was morning. lol. This is probably just my age, but the door in the master bedroom didn't have a screen so you couldn't just leave that door open if you were in the front area of the house.(we weren't comfortable doing that) which limited the ocean breeze in that back room. A few loud doors slamming downstairs when guests arrived and barking dog next door here and there, otherwise - fantastic stay!!!

We spent four nights here for a wedding, and feel like we chose perfectly! The location is fantastic- right on the beach, but not filled with a bunch of tourists. If touristy stuff is your thing, Prospect is 1.5 miles away- a nice walk or quick Lyft ride. It’s slightly far from the 5, but easy enough to navigate to. Overall, it’s a fabulously relaxing place to stay!

We couldn't ask for a better world class view. Superb. Easy parking. Easy directions. I now realize what we paid for was the view. I was very disappointed with conditions of the dated/uncomfortable furniture, most all of the window coverings were broken, screens were broken, bed comfort was barely ok, minimal kitchen supplies, broken outdoor furniture on the back deck, difficult sliding door off the primary bedroom. I will stay here again when the interior space is updated/repaired. I hope the owner is aware of these issues and wants to do something about them as the place is bright and airy and has so much potential that will only enhance the whole experience.

We stayed during one of the hottest weekends and the condo was not well ventilated. Even running fans only helped a bit at night. Floors were super dirty as well and we had to keep washing our feet. Beds were comfortable and was a great location in La Jolla.

The view was outstanding! Spent many hours on the balcony soaking it in! Parking was easy. Check in process was easy. They even provided a pack n play for our little one, which was a game changer! Walking distance to a lot of restaurants, grocery stores, etc. The rental property itself was a little outdated and no air conditioning- which is probably ok most times of the year. We had an unseasonably hot stay in August. Overall- really enjoyed our time!

We immediately fell in love with this clean, comfortable family condo! We watched the surfers and sunsets and read on the beach and walked to town through the historic district. We grilled out on the patio and had coffee on the balcony overlooking the ocean. We rented a car to get there but used it only twice—to go to the grocery and a restaurant. We just relaxed so much. Didn’t want to leave! A perfect spot for a couple or small family who can traverse two sets of stairs.

What I needed to de stress, relaxed and just be thankful for the many years in my life. Views were awesome, the property is as what is described. Got all the things that we needed and really enjoyed our stay. Nice neighborhood, close to food and groceries. Seriously one of the best vacation rentals we have stayed in. You can't beat waking up and looking out over the waves and ocean. The beach right across the street was perfect! Alongside, the condo came with everything you could need (towels, toys, umbrella, chairs, etc). The condo itself was super spacious and easy to navigate. Alongside, it was a short walk to a few restaurants, a market, and super awesome coffee shop. 10/10 would definitely recommend and come back to this place!

This property was everything we had imagined based off of the online description and photos. So close and convenient to the beach and tide pools for our young children.
