OUR LOCATION:
You cannot beat our location! There is so much to do in the Meadow Village, especially with the Big Sky Town Center less than a mile away. We enjoy walking the quiet 3-mile paved loop around the Meadow Village, which can be accessed by a rock staircase in the back of the house. Breathe in the fresh mountain air and look for wildlife as elk, moose, and deer are abundant throughout the year. We are conveniently located in-between the Mountain and the Canyon on a gorgeous bluff overlooking the entire Meadow Village and surrounding mountain ranges.
• Less than a mile away is the Big Sky Town Center where there is plenty of shopping, restaurants, groceries, ski and boot rental, and a movie theatre. If you are in need of skis, boots, or apparel – hop on over to East Slope Anglers or Grizzly Outfitters. If you are hungry – try a sandwich at the Blue Moon Bakery or a pizza from Milky’s. If you are tempted by the dozens of locally micro-brewed beers in the area – head on over to the Lone Peak Brewery. There is a little something for everyone at the Big Sky Town Center and it is within walking distance from the house. There are about a dozen dining options available in the Meadow Village with additional restaurants located on the Mountain and in the Canyon.
• Less than a mile away is Lone Mountain Ranch which boasts over 2,200 vertical feet of trails for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and a fully stocked Nordic Ski Center. Or enjoy a sleigh ride and dinner as you explore Lone Mountain Ranch’s gorgeous winter wonderland by moonlight.
• Less than a mile away is the Big Sky Golf Course which is an Arnold Palmer signature 18-hole golf course and is complete with cross country ski trails in the winter.
• Less than 2 miles away are the public outdoor tennis courts. Private and group lessons can be arranged at the Pro Shop. Near the tennis courts is a large public playground with a water feature for the kids! If you are vacationing here in the summer with children, you should also check out “Camp Big Sky” which provides fun, safe, and enriching activities for all ages.
• Less than 3 miles to the nearest hike on “Ousel Falls Trail” which is easy enough for children and grandparents to enjoy a casual 1.5-mile walk through the woods on a groomed trail that leads you to a spectacular waterfall with picnic tables and benches along the way. The Big Sky area offers many incredible hiking opportunities of varying difficulties.
• Less than 5 miles to the banks of the Gallatin River where you can experience the peace and tranquility of fly-fishing in an area so beautiful, parts of Robert Redford’s “A River Runs Through It” were filmed there. The Gallatin River runs alongside Highway 191 and there are turnoffs every couple of miles for fishing and other recreational uses. In addition, guided float trips are available on the Madison or Yellowstone Rivers which are only two-hour drives away. The Gallatin, Madison, and Yellowstone Rivers are all blue-ribbon trout streams that attract fly fisherman worldwide and are easily accessible from Big Sky. The closest whitewater rafting company is Geyser Whitewater Expeditions which is less than 5 miles away as well.
• Less than 7 miles to the Big Sky Ski Resort where you will find the BIGGEST skiing in North America, with over 5,800 acres of skiable terrain reaching 11,166 vertical feet. Big Sky has over 300 named runs covering over 110 miles on three separate mountains. And Big Sky is consistently recognized for having little to no wait times at the lifts. There are plenty of options for all experience levels, including a bunny hill and Ski School for the kids. And the 400+ inches of annual snowfall make for some pretty unbeatable skiing, boarding, or other winter sports you enjoy. There is also a shuttle bus that picks up every hour at the Town Center less than a mile from our house.
Check out http://www.skylinebus.com/for schedules and routes.
• Less than 7 miles to the Zipline operated at the base of the Big Sky Ski Resort which is considered one of America’s best zipline courses according to USA Today!
• Less than 9 miles to Jake’s Horses in the Canyon where you can find guided trail rides, pack trips, fishing trips, and big game hunting.
• The Bozeman / Belgrade Airport (BZN) is 45 miles away from the Big Sky Meadow Village and serves as the closest airport to Big Sky. We recommend that you rent a car but you can also make reservations with the Karst Stage by calling (406) 556-3540 or (800) 287-4759. 4-wheel drive is highly recommended in the winter months. The scenic one-hour drive from Bozeman to Big Sky begins in the canyon as you drive alongside the Gallatin River on Highway 191 through the Gallatin National Forest. You might be fortunate enough to spot some local wildlife or identify a fishing hole you want to try along the way. During your stay in Big Sky, you may enjoy venturing back to Bozeman as it offers more than just an airport. Great property located in the heart of Big Sky. Beautiful home, well furnished and great kitchen. Our party of 7 was very comfortable spreading out throughout the house. Easy access to Lone Mountain, skiing and Meadow/town Village.

This place is wonderful and in a great location. We had our whole family ages ranging from 4 months to 70 years old, 7 people total. I reached out to the Jana (property manager) before we came about high chairs and pack and play. She made them available for us to use. Can’t say enough good things about the property or the family management. Would recommend for any big family or large group. Hopefully we are back soon.

Functional space with plenty of room for 8-10. Generously outfitted kitchen and laundry room, nice views of Lone peak with hot tub. Could be cleaner and more modernly appointed; several old taxidermy birds. Walkways were not clear of ice and garage was not allowed to park cars which wasn’t convenient with all the ice in driveway and sidewalks.

Beautiful Home in a Breathtaking Location!
We had six adults and a toddler staying in the home and it was perfect for our group. The house was immaculate and comfortable. The views from the deck, as well as the living space were absolutely spectacular. We enjoyed being close to the Town Center and were pleasantly surprised with the grocery stores. We did a big grocery pickup in Bozeman on our way to town, but the local grocery stores had pretty good selection. The kitchen was well stocked and spacious, which was important for us as we cooked family meals every night. Jana was great to work with and very responsive to any questions we threw her way. I would highly recommend The Looking Glass Hideout to anyone looking for a place near Big Sky!

Big Sky Family Getaway
We really enjoyed our stay at Looking Glass Hide Out. This house was really well equipped and perfect for our family. The owner had a maintenance person show up on our first day to make sure hot tub, heaters, etc. were in working order. It is in a great location, easy to get to shopping and most importantly Big Sky Resort. We will definitely recommend this home to friends traveling to Big Sky.

You won’t go wrong renting this property! It’s not very often the home looks like the pictures but this one sure does! It is a beautiful home with just the most incredible Mountain views, peaceful and quiet. Great kitchen for cooks and plenty of room inside and outside as well on the decks. Treat yourself next time you are thinking of visiting Big Sky and stay here. You will not be disappointed!

Family Retreat
Our family recently travelled here for my husband's 80th birthday. Our two daughters with their husbands and our two grandchildren stayed in the house with us. We had an absolutely wonderful time. This is a beautiful property with excellent amenities in a perfect location. It is walking distance to the main Big Sky area with many shops, restaurants, and bars open (in the shoulder season). The golf course is just around the corner. We drove into Yellowstone several times. It is about an hour drive to the west entrance, but a beautiful drive and worth the extra trip to stay in such a beautiful location. The property manager was extremely responsive and addressed any concerns or questions we had. We will definitely stay again!

We rented this place to get away as a family and recharge. The Big Sky House was just what we needed. The owners had everything in place. The house was beautiful, very clean and had all the amenities, plus the scenery was great. We had a few questions and the owners were right on top of it and took care of us.. The shopping center was walkable if you wanted to and the mountains were a 15-20 minute drive. Thank you for making our trip a success.

Epic!
We had never been to Montana before, let alone Big Sky. What an experience!
The house was situated perfectly, close to the the main town of Big Sky with restaurants, retail stores and market all within 5 mins of the house. The ski resort was also close, just a 10 mins drive up the mountain.
The house itself was fabulous, with the most incredible views of the valley. We were impressed with the facilities, particularly the kitchen which has everything you need for preparing large scale meals (which we did every night).
The house is split over two levels, which allowed everyone in our party to find space to unwind: Particularly important to us after a long day of skiing on the mountain. We totally forgot to write in the guestbook, so apologies to the owners for that. Needless to say, we loved every minute of our trip and will happily return in the future. The house was absolutely perfect, so thank you again!

Large group staying for a Ski/Yellowstone Trip. This cabin was everything you would want for a winter vacation! Kitchen was fully stocked with condiments, spices, oils etc. Host are very responsive and make you feel welcome. -an SUV was parked in middle of the 2 car garage which meant both of our vehicles had to stay in driveway. With 30” of snow that week it made for thawing out of SUVs a daily thing. It was not a big deal it was there, just added a few mins for cleaning SUVs off.

Our family of 8 had a lovely stay in this beautiful well appointed vacation home. The view of Lone Mountain and Spanish Peak was breathtaking. We enjoyed the easy access to Lone Mountain Ranch for daily cross country skiing. This home has all of the comforts of home including very comfortable beds and a well stocked kitchen which was a joy to prepare meals in. Jana made us feel welcome, and communicated with us throughout our stay. It was reassuring to know if we had a problem she was simply a phone call away. She was very understanding when we accidently broke the glass on a nightstand. We have rented other properties in Big Sky over the years and this was simply the best experience we have had. In fact we already booked again for next year.

Looking Glass Vacation
The property is gorgeous. Very well appointed with a fully stocked chef's kitchen. Great communication with the family that owns the property. Jana was in touch from start to finish. We have typically done ski in/ski out but we really enjoyed the proximity to the Town Center. The Town Center options far outweighed the short trip up the mountain. A great trip and a spectacular property.

There is a Big Sky
This property is a well maintained and very warm and comfortable house with high end finishes. The main living/ kitchen area is open and bright with excellent views of the big sky around the mountains. It is located in a quite neighborhood easy access to the main road.
It is located close to grocery shopping and a number of nice restaurants and a reasonable distance to the ski area.
One note to new visitors to the Big Sky area, it has become more popular in the past few years and if you plan to go out for a dinner at a nice restaurant, you probably need to plan several days in advance and make reservations. BTW, one of my favorite places is The Cabin located in the base area for the ski resort; a nice quite place for apres ski and and good food for dinner.

Fantastic Home
This is a fantastic house with a breathtaking view. We had six adults and two toddlers for Thanksgiving. The kitchen was fully equipped and made it possible for six of us to cook. We were able to both fish and ski with easy access and both were world class.

Beautiful Home
My wife and I recently spent five nights in this beautiful home. One of the best, if not the best, VRBO rental we’ve ever stayed in. The location was very convenient to all Big Sky has to offer including restaurants, groceries, shops, golf, etc. Best time spent was sitting out on the deck enjoying the views. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else when visiting this area.

Wonderful house in a great location. Couldn’t have been more pleased with the home and the owner, as everything was as-advertised and then some. Looking forward to many more trips to this same spot in the years ahead.

Great time in Big Sky
We loved the house in Big Sky. The house has a beautiful view of the mountains, a great kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, a great hot tub and radiant floor heating in much of the house. The skiing at Big Sky was terrific and we really enjoyed being in Montana and the house was a big part of it.
Thanks very much!

We loved our time in this beautiful home. With stunning views, a well appointed kitchen and an ideal location to skiing and Town Center- this is the perfect home for your trip to Big Sky!

Great home and location
The house was perfect for our group of 8. The large kitchen & living room were great for all of us to hang out in after a long day of skiing. The finishes are very nice and comfortable. We really appreciated the upgraded kitchen. It made making breakfast & dinner very enjoyable.
Even though the house is about 10 minutes from the base of the mountain the location is excellent. The town center is literally walking distance away. That is where the best restaurants, groceries, and ski shops are. The mountain base is a fun spot for apres but really doesn't have much more to offer.
Lastly the manager was very responsive and helpful. She checked in to make sure everything was going ok. We had no serious issues but a few questions that were answered within an hour or two.
I highly recommend this home for a Big Sky ski vacation.

Beautiful home located near all Big Sky Town Center amenities.
The home was well furnished and great for a family or two couples. The second level was perfect for children of all ages and includes a flat screen TV and game table. Many fine dining options nearby in the Town Center. Don’t miss the Farmers Market on Wednesday afternoon!

Family of 3 generations enjoyed house, could not get enough of setting on deck and watching the mountains, Highly recommend Geyser Whitewater Expedition if you are here in summer, everyone was very friendly and helpful. Also good to know hot tub is serviced after each renter. We enjoyed ordering take out from restaurants and eating our evening meal at house, more relaxing Food at gallatin riverhouse grill was excellent . Glad we did takeout, restaurant was very crowded
