About this cabin rental
**In winter months, a 4-Wheel Drive vehicle is recommend to access lodge.***
Welcome to Starry Nights Lodge, a Boone-area log cabin, perched high atop a hill with magnificent long-range views, landscaped with stacked-stone terraces, and a circular driveway with plenty of room for parking. Best of all, you are just 30 minutes to the ski resorts and only 10 minutes from historic downtown Boone and Valle Crucis.
We love to host family vacations, birthdays, anniversaries, romantic get-a-ways, girls weekends and ASU parents visiting students.
*(If your group is larger, consider also renting Blue Moon Lodge, just up the hill. See: vrbo #1060962)
This Tahoe style house has lots of room to spread out. There are three levels of indoor living space and two levels of large decks. The main level of the house features an open floor plan with dining and living areas and a fully equipped kitchen. One wall contains plenty of large windows leading out to a wide upper deck and looks upon the rolling hills and mountains beyond. On the deck, you will find an oversized picnic table, custom rockers with lumbar support, and an outdoor grill. Back inside, the first level is assembled in an Arts and Crafts style, with hardwood flooring and natural finished tongue-and-groove paneling in the cathedral ceiling. The living area contains a stone fireplace with remotely controlled gas logs and features Van Earp lamps, leather sofa, love seat and armchair. The dining area comfortably seats eight. Beyond the living area is the master bedroom with three windows set into warmly paneled walls, a king bed piled with pillows, 36” flatscreen TV and a master bath.
Meticulously crafted stairs and banisters in naturally finished pine lead from the main floor to the loft above, containing a futon and a 55 inch smart television, perfect for a movie, curling up with a good book, or practicing yoga.
A game room on the lower level is equipped with a Foosball table, a chess table, a 36' flat screen television and a leather sofa bed. Just off the game-room is a bedroom with queen sized bed, a full bath, and an additional bedroom with 1 full bed and one queen bed and private bath. The deck on this level, has a large swing chair and a seven-person hot tub with lifter bar for easy access. Just wait till the stars come out!
Down in the valley, is our Stonehenge-inspired natural firepit. So romantic.
Starry Nights Lodge offers something for everyone in the family, with mountain views from every room, game tables and more, all in a lovely setting that is peaceful and still convenient to area attractions and events.
Pets: Dogs over 1 year , 40 lbs max, NOT left alone, $60/night.

We enjoyed our stay at the Starry Nights Lodge. The firepit was particularly amazing and it was a nice getaway for our family. The grill did appear to not be working, but this did not put a damper on our trip.

We had a 4 day visit with our daughter who lives in Boone. The cabin is well laid out and overall we enjoyed our stay. The home is dated - hot tub has small leaks and does not hold water well, kitchen and bathrooms are adequate but dated. The home is also very close to another home that did feel they were on top of us - smoke / odors / dogs.

We had a great girls weekend away. The area was quiet, beautiful and spectacular! Thanks for the rest and refreshment we needed this weekend!

This is a lovely cabin with a great view. It has plenty of space but still feels quaint. It has a remote feel while being close to all the things you want to do. We were there for my son’s college graduation. Wonderful hosts. Very responsive and friendly

Wonderful stay !! Great location in wonderful area near town but yet remote!! Host was amazing leaving small gift for my husbands birthday. And very prompt on answering questions !! View was amazing !! Only one summation would maybe be a propane fire pit due to wind and range of fire pit didn’t want to have a fire b/c of no hose being near area but this is just a suggestion!! Highly recommend!!

Enjoyed the Starry Nights Lodge. I would recommend a Keurig Coffee maker be purchased for the property. Would have been nice for those wanting a cup of coffee or hot cocoa, without having to make a pot.

We went to celebrate my son’s 11th birthday! The home is beautiful, the views are even better! We got to enjoy so much snow and the hills for sledding were perfect! Kathryn had given very good and clear instructions on everything! This is the second time I’ve been to the cabin the first time was with my friend and I loved the view and house so much I had her send me the link! My son said it was one of the best birthday weekends! Even though we didn’t make it to go skiing because beech mountain had no parking, the house and snowy hills made it all worth his stay!!

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin! It was close to Boone and in a beautiful neighborhood. We also loved how you can see Beech Mountain resort from the property at night. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Starry Nights Lodge is the coziest and most inviting cabin we have stayed in. We enjoyed ourselves and appreciate the ease of booking all the way through the stay until checkout.

Great house and location for our annual girl's trip to the mountains! Great and easy communication with the owner. Minor inconvenience of not having anywhere to take trash on a Sunday checkout but was able to talk to the owner about that with fast communication. Would definitely stay here again!

What’s beautiful location and the house is unbelievable. Great view. Private but you don’t feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere. Nice combination. The drive to downtown Boone is easy. A definite place for all seasons! Hated to leave. Great communication with the host who went out of her way for us.

We had three generations stay and we all immensely enjoyed ourselves. We all said the cabin is even more beautiful than the pictures show online. We enjoyed the fire pit two of the three nights! Very convenient to Boone and restaurants. Would definitely stay again!

Lovely cottage, well furnished, very clean, lovely mountain views, and very, very comfortable! The host was very accessible and helpful. The best house my wife and I have rented in the mountains for the two of us. The only issue related to check in was that the lock box was difficult to open and should perhaps be replaced. We are definitely coming back in the spring! Charlie

The property was very well kept sand the view was beautiful. A very comfy stay, only thing is that the washing machine had a slight burning smell when used but no big deal.

Beautiful home with wonderful amenities for all ages in a beautiful mountain setting. Spectacular views with wildlife galore. Love the hot tub and fire pit - perfect for s’mores! Well stocked kitchen with plenty of living space, inside and out. This home is perfect for traveling with grandparents - master on main while the lower level has 2 more bedrooms/bathrooms, another living room and a clean/convenient laundry room. Only minutes away from hiking trails, Boone, Blowing Rock and Grandfather Mountain.

Our stay at Starry Nights truly exceeded our expectations. The house was very clean and exactly as pictured in the listing. We traveled with seven family members and everyone had their own private space. The views were incredible. When the sun went down we enjoyed the fire pit and star gazing. The location was very convenient to Boone but it was nice to get back to the house to enjoy some peace and quiet. We would love to go back to this property next time we're in the area. The owner was easy to work with and very thorough.

Cabin was great. Only issue was the microwave was not working properly. Enjoyed our stay!

This is my 5th time staying in the area in a rented home and this is definitely a favorite. The view is gorgeous, the furnishings were better than most rentals and we were very happy with our time. Also - often the drive to mountain homes can be treacherous and scary for a Florida gal - but the drive was easy. My son was graduating from App State so we had several trips to Boone and it was a quick and easy trip. I highly recommend this property.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Starry Nights Lodge and I must say the property is stunning. I was struck by how well-maintained and very clean everything was. The decor is warm and inviting. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with all the amenities you would need for your stay.
The house is situated in a gorgeous location, surrounded by beautiful views including the starry night sky.
Overall, I would highly recommend Starry Nights Lodge to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing getaway. The beauty and cleanliness of the property combined with its stunning views, make it the perfect place to unwind and recharge.

We loved our stay at Starry Nights. The host was amazing and had a bottle of wine for us upon check in. The views from the property were amazing! The house was great and had everything we needed! Close to Boone and we will definitely be back to stay again in the future.

Our group enjoyed our stay at Starry Nights. We knew the house was in a community but we didn’t know it was so close to other homes, but it didn’t deter from our stay. It seemed much larger in the pictures than ok reality but it was really a nice stay. Katheryn was super accommodating and easy to communicate with. I would recommend an update to the cutting utensils and possibly a way to prevent the sun shining through the taller windows without being able to close a blind, but other than that we had no complaints.
When we arrived and realized there was no tv in the sitting area/den we were a little shocked, but as it turns out we really liked having it upstairs in a separate area. It led to more socializing and less screen time!
We had a great time!

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating a couple of family birthdays. This house was the perfect size for our family of three generations. There was space to all gather and play games together and space to have quiet time. We will definitely stay here again.

My family and I stayed at Starry Nights for a mini getaway weekend. We had an amazing time. The property is gorgeous, views for miles. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub which was a great size. Plenty of pillows and towels were available. A variety of kitchen utensils and cookware allowed for us to cook some meals together at the house. The house is close to Boone so we could easily go into town for dinner or to go shopping. The host, Kathryn, was easy to get a hold of and quick to respond to any and all of my questions. We would definitely stay again. Beautiful property!

This was an easy and awesome experience! The owner was responsive, generous, kind, helpful with itinerary ideas and had a wonder French wine waiting for us! I give this whole experience a 5 star:)

I loved the house itself, the deck, the firepit, the views we amazing, beds were comfy, plenty of space for everyone. The only negative I can give is regarding the water - it boldly smelled like sulfur during our entire stay. As long as you can get past that, all is fantastic!
5.0
Kathryn's place was wonderful! We were in town for a family wedding in Trade, TN and this made for an excellent home base for the weekend. There was a small problem with the heat upon check-in, but Kathryn was VERY responsive and had a technician there ASAP to resolve. The blankets on the beds were wonderfully thick and cozy, and the cabin was as expected. The two living spaces made it great for those who wanted to stay up late.
Two small notes- the water does have a sulfur smell, so we chose to purchase bottled water. You must also take your own trash to the transfer station a mile away.
Overall, we would absolutely stay at Starry Nights again if ever in Boone!

We fell in love with Starry Nights the minute we pulled in the driveway and it got even better when we went inside! We came in for an App State versuw JMU (Go Dukes) football game and everything was perfect. we had a question for the property owner she promptly.replied. The location was easy access to Boone.and to all the other lovely little towns all around.

The location in a small valley was ideal, the views amazing, and the house very cozy. It rained most of the time we were there but the covered deck was so spacious that we still spend most of the time outside reading, relaxing in the rocking chairs, or going in the jacuzzi! I am already looking at when we can return!

Enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch with that wonderful view in front of us.

The house was beautiful in a great location. All amenities, comfortable beds, beautiful views, fire pit and jacuzzi all made our weekend stay pleasant. Awesome rental!

Let's start with the good. The view on the property was beautiful and the main level of the house met our expectations. We liked the layout and thought the amount of space was perfect for our group.
Now for the not-so-great. The hot tub, which was something we were really exited to use was in dire need of being shocked -- it had a gross film and smelled horribly musty - we could not use it. The third bedroom with two beds was horribly musty as well. My sister and her kids could not sleep in there as they have allergies so we had people take couches, which really sucks considering we paid so much for the place. The fridge was also really tiny for a house that can fit seven adults, it was a challenge to fit what we needed for 5 days in there. There was dust on literally everything - tables, light fixtures, fans. My sister owned a cleaning company and did rentals and these were things we always did - so we have high standards. Plus, several in our party have mold/mildew/dust allergies and this house just was not up to our cleanliness standards. I saw all this not to bash the listing, but because we wish someone had been clearer because those things are important to our group. With our needs, we definitely would not rent again.
