Loved the craftsmanship of the cottage and the views were beautiful. Very spacious and had everything we needed. Well stocked kitchen and huge bathroom would maybe add some towel rings for hand towels in main bath. Loved Southwest Harbor and location was walkable to downtown and many restaurants. 20ish min drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Christie was awesome and even got lobster cooked to delivered to our place. Thanks for the stay in your beautiful cottage would love to come back!

Acadia has so much to offer and this home brings just as much with the updated living, amazing sunrises from your bed, beach access, and more. Having town in walking distance was a great bonus to walk over for breakfast or later in the evening for drinks.
Our host was great with easy communication and clear instructions for check in and out!
The only improvement suggestion is a coat hanger or rack when you walk in the home :)

The Lupine Cottage was lovely, right on the water, and in a fabulous location. The quiet side of Mount Desert Island is fantastic, particularly Southwest Harbor. We would definitely stay again!

Our family absolutely enjoyed our stay in this house while visiting Acadia National Park! It is very updated, very clean and super well stocked. The weather was not ideal during our stay, but we still enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the harbor in the rain and fog, very relaxing. Very close to the village of SWH, a grocery store and a few nice restaurants. Communication with the host was quick and smooth. Highly recommend.

We had an excellent vacation in this quiet and relaxing VRBO! The view from the master bedroom is fabulous and from the upper deck as well! The owner is easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything necessary for our stay! It has all the comforts of home and such unique and beautiful accessories throughout the entire house. It’s tucked back from all the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. We highly recommend this rental and hope to return one day soon!!

This is our 4th year staying at this property in Southwest Harbor and as always, it was clean, comfortable and a great home away from home on vacation. Christie really keeps the house and amenities nicely updated, and this year we especially enjoyed the fire pit and the grilling area. The view from the house is amazing, and the walkable location to downtown is so convenient. This year, we also had friends stay at the cottage on the property and everyone had a great time. 5 stars are not enough for this property!

We loved this rental! The pictures truly don’t do it justice. We could walk to town and catch the shuttle to the rest of the park. So nice to be on the quiet side. Christine was an excellent and communicative host. She made everything so easy so all we had to do was enjoy our vacation. Thank you so much for a terrific stay!

Magical Family Adventure
We had such a magical vacation with our 5 year old. The house is located in a great spot. Walkable to some restaurants, bakery and shops. And close to Wonderland and Ships Harbor which are so fun to explore with kids. Close enough to bar harbor and Acadia carriage roads to make a morning or afternoon adventure. We had fun going to Beech Hill Farm and grabbing some produce for dinner on the deck with view of the harbor. The House has a rocky beach out front which was fun to explore at low tide. Overall this was the perfect family vacation. The house is very well equipped, clean and communication with the host was very helpful and responsive. Hope to come back next summer!

Home away from home in a beautiful setting
It was a real pleasure to stay at Lupine Shore cottage. The house is well-stocked with everything you might need and I found it very clean and comfortable. The nautical details in the furnishings and decor really added to the waterfront location. I had to tear myself away from the gorgeous views of the harbor--sunny or cloudy or foggy, the view was always captivating. The location makes it easy to get to most places on the Island and you'll find many great places to eat nearby. Christie was extremely helpful in every way and I Iook forward to the next visit--thank you Christie!

A true home away from home!
This was our second year in a row staying at Lupine Cottage, and once again it was a terrific home away from home for our annual trek to Acadia. The house itself offers a lot beyond being clean, comfortable, well-cared for and well-stocked -- we enjoyed several sunrises right from the living room and deck, kayaking in the harbor, and the close proximity (walking or driving) to the restaurants and shops in Southwest Harbor. It also is in a great location to access all that Mount Desert Island and Acadia have to offer beyond Southwest Harbor so it really is the best of both worlds -- having a home base on the 'quiet side' and being a short drive from amazing lakes, hikes, Bar Harbor, and other attractions. Highly recommend this property!

great location/views
First time I used Vrbo to book a vacation. Christie was extremely helpful. It was everything we had hoped for, well stocked, very comfortable vacation home with great views of the harbor in a quiet side of the island. Plenty of good restaurants in the immediate area. Would definitely come back for a future visit.

Relaxing vacation home
My family of four loved staying at the Lupine Cottage. Never have we stayed in such a well appointed home. The house has everything you need! Books, movies, maps of the area even cooking spices. The location was perfect for us to spend the week hiking and kayaking through Acadia National Park. A short walk into town for ice cream or a stop at Sawyer's Market made the stay relaxing. Check out Little Notch bakery right across the road and we recommend Maine State Sea Kayak. The views from the fire pit or the deck can't be beat.

Loved this House!!
If you are planning to go on a vacation anywhere near Acadia NP, stay in this house! Wow! It was so beautiful, it was hard to leave. Christie was wonderful and so helpful with all of my questions. The décor of the house was absolutely beautiful. I kept walking around on the first night saying "Wow". It is right on the water and in walking distance (short walk) to restaurants, ice cream, an awesome Marina, and just minutes into Acadia and all of the beauty it has to offer. It was so fun to wake up in the morning to all of the lobster boats in the water. We absolutely loved it and I could go on and on about the location and how pretty it is. Best vacation ever!!!

Perfect location. Beautiful property. Amazing view.
The house was beautiful and clean. Bedrooms were spacious. Kitchen stocked with coffee and pancake supplies. All you need on vacation! The location was perfect. Amazing sunrise from the upstairs deck overlooking the water. Walkable to main st south harbor, a quaint town with market, bakery, restaurants and shops, and only a short drive to downtown bar harbor, a more touristy area. The cottage was close to many hiking trails in Acadia national park. We took a lobster boat from the harbor. Christie the host was great! Highly recommend this property and hope to stay here again the next time we are in Maine. Thanks for a wonderful vacation. -NJ family of 4

This property exceeded our expectations!
The Lupine Shore Cottage was an excellent place for our family of five. We spent six nights in early August. The property was extremely clean, well maintained and well appointed with a fantastic view of the Harbor and sunrise each morning. It's centrally located, making it an easy drive to all points on the island. The owner's were very helpful, quickly responded to questions, and clearly pay attention to detail. Trip highlights included several beautiful hikes, visits to Bar Harbor, paddle boarding on Long Pond, and a sea kayak tour with Maine State Sea Kayak company located right in Southwest Harbor. Couldn't be happier with our choices and highly recommend Lupine Shore Cottage!

Wonderful cottage!
It was our first time in Maine and we couldn’t have picked a better cottage to stay in. The cottage was extremely clean and practically brand new! We met Christie and she was very nice and accommodating. The cottage has wonderful ocean views of Southwest Harbor (very quiet) and is within walking distance to the town. The town it’s self has plenty of restaurants and cute shops! It’s also a short drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park which you should visit. So, if you’re thinking of visiting don’t pass up staying in this beautiful cottage because it will not disappoint!

This was our first trip to the Bar Harbor area and this cottage was perfect. Bright and airy like a mountain cottage, and overlooking the harbor. Everything was perfect for our family of four. We were initially a bit concerned about not being in Bar Harbor (the cottage is in Southwest Harbor), however that turned out to be a blessing. BH was so crowded that it was nice to escape back to our peaceful cottage overlooking the harbor. And, btw, parking in BH was no problem, even in July which I am told is the busiest month of the year. Additionally, Acadia is a short drive, too. We liked this cottage so much that I've asked for the plans as we are planning on building a mountain cottage and want to use this one as the base from which to draw our plans. Back to the cottage; everything was very neat and clean, and the cottage is very tastefully decorated. I would also be sure to visit Beal's Lobster Pound regularly for some delicious food. It's a short drive from the cottage, or better yet, bike to it. Bottom line, our experience in the cottage was outstanding and we plan on staying there again.
