About this apartment rental
Hello, we are Robin and John Hanley and we would like to welcome you to our Under the Gondola Guest Suites in Steamboat Springs! Originally from upstate NY, we moved to Chicago for 15 years before visiting Steamboat and subsequently moving here 26 years ago. While on a business trip to Romania, John was quite taken with the Romanian people and the plight of their economy. He discovered the best way to help them was to hire them for their crafts. Therefore, this property has been finished using Romanian marble, European cherry wood and wrought iron all hand crafted by individual people and villages.
The property is located just under the gondola on Ski Trail Lane. Our heated, back staircase leads you down from the house to only cross the street and ski out to the base of the mountain. Ski-in is just as simple.
The Gondola Suite is connected to our main residence. Upon your arrival the unit will be clean and stocked with plenty of towels for your use. You are provided with a key to your own front door and the unit is again cleaned after your departure. 1 king bed and 2 convertibles. Full kitchen, flat screen TVs and DVD player.
We are dog and kid friendly. THIS IS A NON-SMOKING HOUSE with wireless internet throughout. There is a laundry room on site for our guest's use.
We live in the main portion of the house, offering 4 private guest suites for nightly/weekly rental. (There is no shared living space.) A perfect setting for a multi-family trip, traveling together but each having a private suite & bathroom. We are steamboat pet friendly.c and extremely welcoming to dogs (sorry no cats). There is a shared fenced in yard surrounding our guest suites. Currently, Steamboat/Hayden airport HDN, has non-stop service to Houston and Denver. Winter brings many more non-stop flights including daily Southwest flights!

The Gondola suite had everything we needed for a short Steamboat stay - great location, friendly and helpful host, gorgeous kitchen with much more than essentials, and a view of the Steamboat gondola.

Robin's place is perfection in every way; it is comfortable, well-stocked, and has everything you would need or want. This is honestly the type of place you don't want to boast about too much because then it will always be booked when you want to stay there. It has every creature comfort imaginable, seriously Robin has thought of everything you might want. The property is so dog-friendly, is tucked away, but also feels close to the village. We skied every day and the access to the slopes is unmatched. We go to Steamboat every year and this is sure to be the place we book for every trip!

Robin and John's property was absolutely heavenly! We were met by Robin as we drove up, and she warmly greeted us and personally showed us to our suite. When I opened the door, the suite was breathtaking for its beauty and layout. Interior design and furnishings were impeccable, functional, and very welcoming. It is always nice to receive what you paid for, but it is exceptionally pleasing to receive more than you had imagined! Our suite showed a classic and beautiful charm with real tiling work and unrivalled woodworking (fine cabinetry). The kitchen was furnished with everything we needed, all appliances worked, and the interior decorating (furniture, paintings, ornaments, etc.) were simply exquisite! I had numerous interactions with Robin, and each one was more pleasant than the previous. I want to note the beautiful fenced in yard, which was important to us since we had our 3 year-old Golden along. He was able to romp in the snow with a few other dogs without any fear on our part that our Golden would leave the property. I cannot say enough about this unbelievable find and memorable experience in the Steamboat Springs resort ski area. Also, there was assigned parking for each suite, so never a problem finding parking. Lastly, the other guests we met were so nice. One family, in particular, wanted us to schedule a return visit when they were there next year! We are forever grateful to Robin and John, and we sure hope to stay at their gorgeous property again.

We enjoyed our stay in the Gondola Suite. Robin was very helpful and accommodating, the suite was comfortable and cozy, and it is easy to walk out to access the slopes and the walk back from the ski access point is also easy. ~5 minute walk to the nearest bus stop and less than 10 minutes to a few breakfast spots, a brewery, and a burger place which made it easy to go downtown or grab food nearby. We had 4 adults and squeezed everyone in between the main bedroom and the pullout couches without running out of space. Great spot for a small group or a couple on a ski trip.

We had an amazing stay with Robin and John. The condo was super clean, equipped with everything we needed plus some. We even brought dogs and Robin and John thought of everything for them too!
The location is a dream for skiing and super easy to walk to the slopes. We will definitely be staying again next time we’re in steamboat.

The apartment was very comfortable and convenient to the slopes (just a very short walk to short in/out access trail). We did not rent a car, so we relied on the city busses to get into town (about 1/4 mile walk to the bus stop). Owners were very helpful with a few questions before we arrived and a few while we were in town. The sleeper sofa wasn't very comfortable. Overall it was a great place for the location and price.

John & Robyn we're the perfect hosts! The location is absolutely beautiful, it's right by the ski village and everything is very walkable. We are so thankful they allowed dogs as we had been struggling to find a place we could stay with our two pups. We had an absolutely wonderful time and honestly wish we could have stayed longer.

An absolutely stunning location and a very beautiful play to stay. Robin was such a wonderful host. She even met us at the door and welcomed us in. The place was very comfortable and Jasper (our dog) loved the big back yard space to room around in. Excellent location for amazing hikes and just a short drive to town. Robin and John were wonderful! So helpful. Very responsive to our requests. The suite was fabulous. Very clean, well stocked and there was a wonderful fenced in backyard for the pups. We plan t visit again in September.

Wonderful visit, for both myself and my puppy
I had such a nice, relaxing stay. Check-in was a breeze, the unit clean, the owner available if I had any questions/needs. I worked remote mostly during the days, but my Siberian Husky was able to get out in the *massive* fenced in snow-filled backyard. Other guests also had dogs and they'd all go out there and run around. Truly, a really nice benefit for my pup when I couldn't run around with her myself. As for the unit, it was comfortable, as expected, easy to find things, secure, good wifi and made for a great base-camp for a couple weeks. It's literally a few hundred feed from where you can strap your skis on, too, so that made it easy for me to get out and enjoy the mountain. Will definitely visit again. Thank you!

Perfect place for the puppers and skiing
My wife and I had a wonderful experience here. The backyard had plenty of room to let our two puppers run around. There were even some other dogs there for them to play with. The owner, Robin, was great. She was right there to answer any questions we may have had. The view from the master bedroom overlooking the gondola is incredible. The kitchen is fully stocked with a very nice oven. It is only about 100 ft walk to the slopes. With skis this is no problem as you’ll need to traverse a little way. With a snowboard you’ll be forced to walk a little extra. All in all, a great property.

Great location and relaxing
Robin and John are wonderful hosts. The property is beautiful. The fenced-in yard is an unbelievable amenity and the fact they are super dog friendly is incredible. Great stay and great property!
We had a great time with our two dogs! To get to the ski hill you cross the road and take a short cat track across to the ski hill, then it is a quick ski down to the gondola. The dogs had a great time with the fenced yard and playing with some other pups staying in another unit. Robin was very helpful with anything we asked.

Wonderful Steamboat Stay!!
We had a great stay over the holidays in the Gondola suite! We enjoyed watching the gondola every morning over our coffee and the location was perfect. The condo is very comfortable and the kitchen was perfect for cooking our evening meals after some long days on the mountain. The best part was that our 2 pups were welcome so we didn’t have to leave them at home! We are hoping to come back next year!

Perfect!
This was a wonderful place right on the mountain. It was perfect for us. We travel with the dogs and the fenced back yard allowed us to let them play in the snow off the leash. Great view from the bedroom, I sat by the fireplace in the bedroom and watch it snow.

An Awesome Place to Stay
This is always a great place to stay - clean, quiet, and scenic. It's close to the ski resort but a short bus ride (free) away from town. Robin is super nice and accommodating. Pets are welcome which is nice.

Great place!
We had a great time staying at the gondola suite. Awesome location, clean, and very friendly owners. The fenced backyard is quite large. Nice for my two big dogs. If you board it might be difficult to fully ski in/out; but it is a very short walk to the gondola from the condo. Also, if you are a high maintenance gal like me beware the lighting in the condo is pretty dim so it can be difficult do to make up after the sun goes down. Overall I would recommend this condo, and would totally stay here again! 😊

Under the gondola suites are very comfortable, clean and homey feeling with a great location to the slope. The owners are very welcoming and very interesting in making your stay as pleasant as possible. It’s also a perfect place for a dog, with a big fenced in yard to play in usually with other dog friends. We would definitely like to return some day!

Wonderful and convenient!
Robin the owner wonderful. We brought two of our dogs and one was a little nervous one day when when we left and Robin came in and reassured her all was ok which settled her. They had a blast playing in the yard and meeting others dogs. We had a great time skiing and just popping across the street to the ski area or being able to walk down the street to a conscience store or a short drive to the grocery store. Can’t say enough, but we plan to be back.

We had a nice stay in the Under the Gondola suite. The location was awesome, and it was a great property to stay with our dogs with the fenced yard. The interior was very charming, we had everything we needed.
