The staff were very friendly and helpful to an old lady of impaired movement

It was very clean
Booked a superior room with a bath, and was given a standard room with a shower. No electric sockets by the bed, reading lights didn't work. Was woken at 06.20am Sunday morning by loud large Refuse Lorry emptying refuse skips and recycling bins. Reception did not rectify my issues.

das Bett war groß genug, ebenso das Zimmer
Die Sauberkeit im Detail, insbesondere im Bad war nicht gut, Duschgel war leer, durch die dünnen Wände habe ich sehr laut die Lüftung des Nachbarn gehört

No lifts, painers all over the place with plastic on the floors and stairs! Full price was charged!

The staff were helpful. Our room was clean and had just been freshly painted.
We were not told about any maintenance work being carried out and was woken up at just gone 7am by the work being carried out in both rooms either side of me plus the one opposite and I was told the hotel was fully booked so that was why they had to put me in that room however I feel like I should have been pre warned and perhaps the rooms close by should be at some sort of discounted rate.

The lounge/bar area is lovely and comfortable. The bar man was very helpful he advised us of a lovely Indian restaurant to go to in Newbury. The breakfasts were great and we had an evening meal one night which was also lovely.
The rooms could do with a refurb. The bathrooms very tired looking. The rooms are also very hot. Lack of facilities in the room I expected an iron and ironing board also no fan and considering how hot the rooms were they are definitely needed.
I feel the rooms really let the hotel down as the main area of the hotel looks very fresh, clean and welcoming.

They were very short staffed and stopped serving food in the bar at 9pm

The friendliness of the staff and the way they made me feel most welcome. The parking was so easy being right outside the hotel with plenty of space.

Mattress on bed very old and uncomfortable. Was given the option to move but we had empty our case and my husband declined to move as it was late at night. But the mattress shouldnt of been in this state in the first place !!! Not enough staff on to sort thing out safe in room unable to use as the staff couldnt open it !!

Friendly reception staff and good breakfast
Function in bar and restaurant which meant dinner was in a banqueting room not fully staffed. Staff did come and check on us but we felt that our custom was not as important as the noisy function.

Location was convenient.
Bar staff helpful and pleasant.
Lady on front desk similarly helpful.
An uncomfortably small and cramped room. More like it should be a single rather than a double.
Bathroom was smaller than any I've ever known.

Staff helpful and friendly. Hotel's situation.
Nothing to dislike.

My husband was taken ill and they helped me immensely.
The food took 1/2 hour to come out and there was only us there

The food was lovely. The hotel itself was modern and staff were very helpful
I had to pay more for an exclusive room as my partners disabled and unable to walk very far. Our room was tiny compared to family members who had paid alot less. The toilet leaked and stank. The bathroom was dirty on the floor and there was cracked tile dust too. The hotel was very hot so we had to have the windo open our room was hljust to the side of the big outdoor air con unit which made a noise constantly all through the night sounded like an aeoplane engine leaving us very tierd with no sleep .the bulbs were gone in the bathroom leaving 1 dull bulb working Very disappointed

nice and clean
beds very uncomfortable, pillow poor quality, breakfast not always stocked

Lovely big car park with free car parking, easy check in with friendly staff, a lift to get to the second floor. Clean room with large sized bed. Free Wifi. Had a bath as well as a shower. Has 2 E.V. chargers in the car park.
Found some body hairs in my freshly laundered towel when i shook it out which wasnt very nice.
£12.50 each for breakfast is too much to pay as an additional charge.

Electric chargers
From checking into the wrong room, to not sending an invoice, to a rock hard mattress and shower failed to boiling hot only .
Not to the standard of previous mercure hotels , max 3 star at best

Comfortable bed
Service in restaurant, and premium room was a lot smaller than advertised with less facilities than advertised

More modern than we were expecting. Great bathroom/shower. Comfortable bed/pillows and dark room.
Bar stays open until 2am.
Could here slight hum of a generator but didn’t keep us up.

Enjoyed the breakfast selection

Pleasant staff, comfy bed, nice deep bath.
Staff very pleasant, but room needed attention, big sticky stain on the carpet near the dressing table, we put a towel over it and when we lifted the towel it was dirty, told the night porter when we returned back from a family party, no mirror above the sockets to dry your hair, hair dryer didn't reach the full length mirror.
Husband went for tea and toast on Saturday morning and waitress told him they had no milk, a essential for hot drinks!.
Checked out and we questioned a charge on our bill, receptionist didn't know what it was and told us the Manager came on shift at 12 noon and would get him to call us, no call.
