Comfortable room and bathroom. Good breakfast with gluten free options. Good location for Medicine Festival. Free parking.
The pub restaurant closed at 9pm over the whole weekend which is early as there’s nowhere else to get food in the vicinity.
No dairy free milk for coffee and cereals in the morning.

Very clean and smart … plenty of seating inside and out. Staff were great , with a special mention for Josh who was on hand from checkin to checkout … very helpful guy with a smile and positive attitude… really refreshing these days !

The full English breakfast was excellent except for the scrambled egg that was very watery and no flavour. Maybe source a local free range supplier.
Room was immaculately clean throughout. The bed was the most comfortable, had a really good nights sleep, woke really well rested.
Could not find anything to dislike apart from the scrambled egg. Will have poached or fried. Next time.

Rooms have improved, nicely decorated with decent bathrooms and an actual double bed (not two singles shoved together). Restuarant was busy as it was burns night but the staff handled it really well, food was very nice as well.
Heating system made a constant pinging noise every hour or so (like air trapped) and the extractor fan runs for AGES after the light is turned off so it was quite noisy trying to sleep, especially as it is in a generally quiet area

The hotel is beautiful, decorated with good taste, clean, comfortable and very welcoming; the location is very good - close to London, Oxford and Cotswold. The staff is very friendly and helpful and our breakfast was just right; I am looking forward to going back and try their dinner/ pub grub; wholeheartedly recommend it; it appears to also be dog friendly; the perfect retreat for a countryside trip.

Easy check in, friendly helpful staff.
Only one set of towels in the room. Not many people book a twin room for single occupancy! Had to ask for coffee and milk.

Excellent breakfast, friendly staff. Good-sized room, handy for the bar and restaurant, nice decoration. Outside seating area well thought out, nice to sit there in the sun.
Could have done with a small shelf in the shower room, although there was a ledge about the toilet to put things on, a little more shelving to put toothbrushes, soap dishes, cosmetics etc.

Clean and tidy and nice sized rooms
I travelled with my 4 year old son and was placed in a room overlooking the beer garden and right above the speaker which played dance music till 11pm very loud. My little boy didn’t get to sleep until midnight and we had to be up at 630 for our day out ( the reason for travel)
I cannot believe a ‘family room’ would be suitable for that sort of the hotel, drunken people were singing and screaming until 1120pm and my little boy cried and cried that he couldn’t rest or sleep due to the noise

Location
Value for money
In the cottages on the top floor, the room was very hot in the night and the small fan did not help.

Fairly recent renovations were very good - especially the out-doors facilities.
No cash requirement. Not good for some customers and tipping going into a general account is not trusted by some, Drinks somewhat overpriced, .

Thoughtful staff with welcome note and an email before our stay to ensure they had our room correct for my family.
The wifi was temperamental.

The location, the building and the rooms are all good staff were pleasant
I experienced significant issues with the Wifi during my stay at the hotel. In certain rooms, it didn't work at all, and I had to request to be moved to another room to see if it would improve. Despite some improvement, it was still rather inconsistent. As a business director, I had expected to work from the hotel, but due to this issue, I would not consider booking here again on a business trip,
Additionally, I was very disappointed that the bar only accepted cashless payments and the bar seemed understaffed

Really lovely spacious rooms, nicely decorated, huge beds! Easy access to the Wasing Estate
The cleaning staff start room service at 8:30 in the morning and stood outside in the corridor having a chat for a ages. It was so loud and disturbing on a Sunday morning. Also we only had one large towel in the room so had to share one large and one small hand towel between us.

Lovely area, local to family wedding and reception.
We had 4 rooms booked. The 2 family rooms far to hot, no air conditioning made for an uncomfortable two night stay.
Breakfast service was hit and miss. No plates for toast so had to use serviettes at first. Had to ask several times for dairy alternative for coffee. Asked for hard egg but got runny egg. Only little things but it affects the experience.
Check out was a little frustrating as we took some luggage to the car but as we went back for the rest of the luggage it was a couple of minutes past 11 so we couldn't get back to our rooms as the room card didn't work. Reception had to let us back in. A ten minute window for the room cards to still work would be useful. I can't imagine this is the first time this has happened.

All the staff we came across were extremely friendly and helpful, especially at breakfast. The hotel is comfortable and decorated to a high standard. It seems as if it has been freshly renovated. The family room was large and able to accommodate all 5 of us comfortably (2adults, 2children and 1infant). The breakfast was delicious and there was a good selection (although would be great if included in room rate).
The sofa bed wasn’t very comfortable. It would have been handy to have a fan in the room as it was hot but we couldn’t crack open the window as we were above the bar patio and people were (understandably) enjoying their Saturday night. Drinks in the bar were expensive.

Hotel was lovely and clean, room spacious, staff were very friendly and great tranquil location
