Location is perfect, by the beach and ocean view
This is a time share hotel, very first day we came to the hotel at 4.30pm kids wanted to go to the beach but time share lady Mar was keep on talking about their time share till 8pm we couldn't go to the beach, then the next day they were holding is from going to excursions cuz they want us to stay for their time share presentation.

O lugar é lindo, a praia é maravilhosa e a comida impecável. Pudemos relaxar e curtir as férias com tranquilidade e segurança.
O que é complicado é que por ser um sistema de resort time sharing, aos sábados precisamos trocar o quarto.

I liked the beach and the installations in general.
I didn't like that every time I ordered a drink or something to eat they had to give me a bill I had to sign every single time even though we had everything inclusive, I hated that. Bill was $0 dollars but had to sign it after everytime we went into a bar or restaurant.

We had a great time at this resort! All inclusive was as advertised, no worries about food or drinks for family of 5! Used room service as well! Great view of resort, beach and ocean from our balcony, Amazing view without getting beachfront room! Celebrated the 4th of July there and was amazed at all the festivities and dinner party they had poolside to honor American Independence Day!! Meet a gentleman who said he comes there every 4th because of there amazing celebration!
We had to make dinner reservations which was understandable but could never get the reservation times we wanted! The last night we wanted to eat at one of the restaurants at another location that we haven’t been to yet! They wanted and up charge to dine there do to a special event!! What why we bought the all inclusive!! There was a hat vendor on location next to pool, would have thought we had some connection to resort being on site. I paid for a hat for him to make and bring back since he said he would be there all week, never saw again!! Rooms not bad at all, little outdated but we spent most of our times at the beach, pool or on the balcony

Beautiful facility. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable.
Not many considerations for handicapped or wheelchair access.
Also, the specialty restaurants except for Mexican, are all off site, requiring shuttle service. The hotel offers shuttle to the restaurants, BUT it is limited capacity

Huge area with a lot of entertainment. Good restaurants and friendly hotel staff. I liked the beach of the hotel, you can also spend time by the pool or jacuzzi.
Spa was too expensive and there were a seaweed on the beach.

Location
Staff friendliness
Food options
No where to go to after dinner in the restaurant. Sliders is too small and noisy. Need another bar area with lounge seats
Why not convert sales area which takes up far too much space?
Only two restaurants on site.

This was the main problem with this hotel. Long wait to get a table and even longer to get a cooked egg. And why no bacon?
Better organisation of breakfast times/space

A little outdated…

Food was excellent, staff was friendly, especially Damian and the room had an incredible ocean view!
Time share presentation was too long and sales rep was too pushy.

9.0 / 10.0
The rooms were large and quiet. We lived the fact that there was no loud music at the beach and that there were sufficient beds everywhere although you had to reserve one early in the morning if you wanted a specific location.
Food was great and with a large variety.
Not really the resort itself but just all the drunken Americans hanging around the pool bar. but I assume that is Cancun…..

we enjoyed the beach area and the food at the partner restaurants
the fact that it was a timeshare and we were not made aware of this until we arrived also the demographics. They catered too a certain group of people. Most guests were 70 plus and Caucasian. I book this resort based upon the 5 star rating and good reviews. I came here to celebrate my birthday with a group of friends.I’m in my forties so I was not looking to party all night but I was also not looking for a snooze fest. There was absolutely no entertainment. Upon arrival we had to go to the 2nd lobby later to find out this is for non members. We were told right away this was a timeshare property and met with a concierge upon arrival. Immediately we were talked into doing a presentation which we didn’t want to do. The first night we were very uncomfortable as the guests were just staring at us as if we didn’t belong it made us very uncomfortable. I got up the next day to call booking to cancel but was told the hotel refused to refund us as they had already made accommodations for us. I’m unable to add everything to this review check out the full review on google or Expedia

location on the main road were you find buses to take you to the night life and shopping mall though you will not need to leave the resort at all. they have pharmacy and supermarket and activity center the staff are wonderful would like to thank Mr. Raffa he helped us a lot to provide us with tips on our activity. the rooms are big just keep in mind the normal rooms have to beds that you will need to put them together but the villa option is amazing you will have king bed and living room with big balcony
our balcony was small and unfortunately we choose the week that after it they have to close for maintenance for that we couldn’t stay after check out at all

The Royal Sands has a very attractive large pool, which was one of my reasons for choosing it. We had booked the "all inclusive" package and were pleasantly surprised at the wide choice of tasty meals available at the various restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful.
I would be hard pressed to come up with anything we didn't like. The only thing that would come to mind is the relative isolation of the zona hotelera from everyday Mexican life, but we knew that beforehand.

The buffet is excellent. Fresh, varied food everyday. Major bonus. However every theme night they had additional items that you had to purchase, such as steaks, cocktails, etc.
The beach wait staff were excellent, mostly Oscar and Wilfred.
The beach/pool towel service was great and very quick and efficient.
Unfortunately this was a very disappointing stay. We’re from Europe and felt that perhaps, culturally, this hotel just didn’t cater to us.
The hotel will likely respond as I have seen them do a lot on here and I don’t feel that’s appropriate. My views are my own, subjective and personal to my experience.
The basics were impossible to get like water and coffee. The hotel provided one sachet of filter coffee per day (which was weak) and just 2 small bottles of water! If you needed more you had to either order room service (which always took over 40 mins) or else sit down in the buffet or bar to order from a waiter. You could of course pay for water in the shop on-site, but what’s the point in paying for all inclusive then?!
The wine in general at the hotel is something that they should really look at. Only 2 types are available in the all inclusive package- a Chardonnay (!) and a Cabernet. Both were horrendous as per other reviews on here. You can purchase bottles with your meals, they start at about $40!!
The shop sells wine but be warned, the red wine has spoiled from sitting on a warm shelf for too long and the red/rose options are passable at best.
All other drinks are watered down so much, even the soft drinks. It’s just not good enough for a hotel that claims to be 4 star.
The coffee provided in the room is awful as stated, but there is nowhere to go to get a nice cup other than pay for a Starbucks in the market, which is more expensive than the US.
Any other resort we’ve stayed at has water, coffee, soft drinks, beer and wine available 24/7 for guests at multiple locations. This is not the case here- you have to order room service or sit down. The room service also states that alcohol ordered after 10pm needs to be ordered with food…and all bars and restaurants are closed by 10/11. I understand they’re a family resort but this simply isn’t a 4 star service.
The staff for the most part came across as over-worked and disdainful.

the smell of damp , you beds where wet because of Humidity’

the room and facilities in the room were very good.
I would expect from the 5 star hotel more than that. The only available breakfast restaurant at the hotel, concerning the number of suites and people is not enough. There are not many choices for food, also in the Mexican restaurant ala' carte there are some dishes/drinks which are subject to surcharge, which in all inclusive option might be questionable but this I can understand but if the subject to surcharge is guacamole, which is typical mexican food, I would expect to have it at no additional cost, also the price of the guacamole is triple than the price of guacamole in any other restaurants.

The suite is spacious with a kitchen, dining, living and large balcony. Plus point is the room service is included in the all inclusive. this inclusive is slightly different to others, you have to sign for every order/drink/meal so there is a large tipping culture at the hotel. The staff were attentive especially Samuel at the la veranda restaurant, he was polite, helpful and just an amazing and kind waiter, we couldn’t praise him more!
views form the hotel room on the 5th floor were lovely.
Pools are great at this hotel, they are big and there are pools for both adults and children. facilities are clean and there is some entertainment during the day.
This is a timeshare hotel so if you are staying over a Saturday you will need to change rooms. this can be particularly annoying when it’s mid way through your holiday. I also requested the room be next to my relative who we were travelling with (3 months in advance) however this request was not fulfilled!
The hotel reps also invite you to a meeting which lasts two hours (hard selling time share) in return for discounts on excursions. We did book some excursions which were great like the jungle tour. We also booked a tour with Albotros (through the hotel) on a boat to see a small island, which never turned up so we were waiting at the dock for 4 hours and had to return back to the hotel wasting half a day. Be careful when booking tours!
